beautiful setup :)

I would not recommend running the Pro without the side of the case on though. these cases are designed with airflow in mind and the thermal ramifications of not allowing the air to properly flow past components can be a detriment to the stability of the machine.

He'd just installed an SSD and decided to take a photo.

looks like I'm not the only one =)

Here are the two towers, busy ray-tracing. Gonna add a wacom intuos to the family in a few weeks, I think. I want a nicer display too, this 22" TN panel business....is meh.

(The thing on the desk marked "congratulations" is the letter that my transfer application was accepted and I can start working on my BA after the holidays.:))

I have 2 offices one is for audio and video restoration, although as of late it is devoted primarily to cleaning up old audio of a spoken voice. So that job has turned me into a kind of forsenics expert in audio, rather specialized. (Not my regular job) The other office is my normal office where I play and work. The Mac Pro is the only thing I trust for this job, one is a 2009 Quad the other is 2010 Quad, there both the same for my job, notice no difference. Before that I used a dual G5, audio and video work took forever on that old thing, the new Quads are much faster and cheaper.

Here's the current state of my desk :p Keeping it real by not cleaning up ;)

The important thing, for me, about a setup though is the cable/device management. I have no cables from my computing devices that dangle along the floor or fall off the table top (with exception to a few things i can hide away in the corner behind the Z-5500 subwoofer).

It's sorta tough but I've "maintained" it for over 2 years now. I started off with cable ties but learned that velcro strips are best since you never know when you have to change devices around and whatnot

Here is my latest setup...

nice setup ! just a tip :

you should place your monitors in a symmetrical triangle setup to the listening position. The distance between the speakers should be the same as between a monitor to the listening position. don't place them too steeply twoards your ears

At least on the pictures it looked very asymmetric :)

What do you use that My Book Studio Edition for? Would it work a lot faster of eSata than FW800?

my revised setup

I got 2 27" inch monitors on Ergotron arms and my atlona, mac pro under the desk.
