new Dell 3008 for $1099

Dell3008.jpg

Bought this refurbished. There were a few dead pixels that woke up with use. It is all 100% right now. I'm very happy.

New Setup

Here is my current setup. I would certainly take any suggestions for rearrangement. I took a quick shot with my camera. I have a 2.26 Octad Mac Pro and 2.5 Macbook Pro on the desk. 24" LED ACD and T240 Samsung display as well as a new Galant desk from Ikea after a lot of Macrumors browsing.

My 'new' 2006 quad 2.66 Mac Pro. Set up at my uni house, but still a temp location as I will be moving back home in a week. Next to it is my first Mac that I got last year, a Powerbook G4 1.33Ghz 512Mb Ram, it's still going, just pretty slow now :(

Are you on deviantart? That photo is giving me mad deja vu, and it's the only place I can think of where I might have seen it.

Mac Pro w/ 30" ACD, canon printer, 40" Sony TV, Sony Blu-Ray player, Nintendo Wii, Wacom tablet, 3Dconxexion wheel, logitech wireless mouse. 15" MBP not in picture. TV is for relaxing on bed, not while I'm working on the computer ;)

What's giving off the blue glow? Cus, whatever it is... I need one.

Also, what do you use the intuos and space navigator for?

Ikea Dioder LED strips, I got mine off eBay.

I mostly use the Intuos for Illustrator and the Space Navigator for Maya.

Nice... my setup will be a Cintiq in place of the ACD + intuos, but otherwise pretty close to yours :D

A couple of you had Ikea desks and those inspired me. I've been in the market for some new office furniture, but hadn't really seen anything I liked. I spent most of the day assembling it, and I'm still not done loading the new furniture with my old stuff.

Isn't your neck going to lean to the right a little after continuous usage? I don't know how you can have your chair facing away from your display like that...

He's left handed. So the chair will face the monitor mostly while he manages the KB with one hand - looks like.

Ah, nicely spootted! I'm in physio for a similar sort of injury so I was concerned :D Currently trying to set up the most ultimate, comfy workspace I can, after spending the last year on an uneven carpeted floor with a busted chair, and a desk too low for me

Yeah, nothing like a little pain to brighten up your day - aye?

I have Quake Shoulder myself... I guess a little like Tennis Elbow. :D

love that display just wish Apple hurry up with the LED 30-inch

I agree, the 24" LED is beautiful but having had a 24" iMac and now a MP with an HP LP2475w (which is matte), the glass screen really is a two edged sword. Looks gorgeous, vibrant etc... but things need to be situation well to reduce the reflection. I was very pleased to see the LP2475w getting the recommendation in "The bigger Laptop Picture" article in this month's Macworld against the 24" LED and LaCie screen. It's no where as sexy, but for the money I couldn't be happier...
