Is that really what they do? Well shucks. Before I even turn on my Mac Pro, i'm gonna move 2 of my 512's to riser B.
That's what I'm guessing, yeah. They're going to do what is most economical and allow them to get the systems out the door as quick as possible.

You can but it may or may not be necessary, check out these barefeats benchmarks:

At least in the memory test, there was a gain, but real world applications... sort of questionable.

Apple Korea just put the promo material for the MacPro up on their site last Friday. As of today (Tuesday), there is still no price/order page! What the...!
These things are made a stone's throw from here.

Oh, while I'm complaining, I'll just add that one can't custom order/upgrade a Mac in Korea--it's standard issue only.

Korea is a backwater in so many ways. ;)

what does that mean. and what does he mean by exercising the x1900
I just meant using it, in games particularly. Don't need a 2.66 Ghz system with 2 gigs of RAM and an X1900 if I were just going to write a lot of emails and surf the web. LOL

what is good about 2 being on riser a and 2 being on riser b. O yeah, what are risers?

You're in Quad Channel mode when you have an equal amount of ram on each riser.

Well it'll be running all the time no matter what. But the games should be sufficient, yes, be running other things too of course.

Ah I see. No that won't be, I have mine set on my Mini right now to just activate after 9 minutes of inacitivy. Not sure how taxing any screensaver would be on an X1900. LOL

Does anyone have updated news on their Mac Pro w/X1900XT?

JESUS, do you have to ask every 10 seconds??? When someone gets a shipping notice, I'm sure they'll post a new thread within 5 seconds of them finding out. And since when are you so confident that you're getting an x1950 in your Mac Pro that you're using only for gaming (which is a pretty foolish reason to buy a $3000 workstation) anyway? This is getting a little ridiculous.*

Nothing updated here unfortunately, just the same old stuff I've been posting since my first post in here. I hope Renovatio posts later, curious to see what his order status is.

Nothing new here either ... I posted a few pages back about how my order status now lets me cancel my Mac Pro for some reason. So no idea what is going on there but it leads me to believe maybe nothing was going on in the first place.

Now I have got these two 30" behemoths staring at me from behind my laptop on my desk only serving to increase my anticipation ... lol

Watching ... waiting ... hoping ... :)

EDIT: btw, called Apple this afternoon and got the samed canned answer "it will ship on or before 21 Sep" and then mumbling incoherently something about demand being so high and they can't keep up. They did discourage me from modifying my CTO because it would only put me at the back of the line once again ... which I figured ... but it would have been nice to correct my mistake with the CTO HDs. Oh well. Now I wait.

At least they told you that it would push you to the end of the line..... :(:(:(:(:(:(

That dumb bitch that I talked too told me that it wouldn't change anything. I hope she gets burned alive.

Anyway, my Mac Pro is not just for gaming. I also do Audio production.

And also, I just upgrade my Mac every 3 years or so, and I like to have the best so it'll last longer....
