Man fedex website either sucks, or they've screwed up. My Mac Pro was picked up on 9/7, and has been sitting in Anaheim ever since.
Did you go for the free shipping? They ship those by train if it has to go transcontinental, so you should get some updated tracking later today/tonight.Trekkie said:Man fedex website either sucks, or they've screwed up. My Mac Pro was picked up on 9/7, and has been sitting in Anaheim ever since.

I thought the system would be quiester overall though. I think the cooler/fan on the x1900 is the loudest component when idle. The superdrive on the other hand...
...everytime it spins up to max I get the urge to grab onto my Mac Pro before a hidden sublight thruster emerges from somewhere and blasts it off into space. That thing (pioneer DVD-RW DVR-111D) is LOUD!
Oh, no. I totally agree that those who ordered before me should have it shipped first. The only thing is I have seen at least three persons who ordered after me, September 4, 5 and 6 and had it shipped thursday or friday and that annoys me. The specs were nearly the same too.kered22 said:No offense but that's sort of good to hear. LOL I ordred August 19th and mine hasn't shipped yet, best estimate according to Apple is the 13th which I hope is true. I've seen people who ordered the same day as me as well as after get theirs shipped.
Yeah no kidding. The post earlier by Renovatio is the one response that makes any sense to all the confusion with these order dates.Fredou51 said:The only thing is I have seen at least three persons who ordered after me, September 4, 5 and 6 and had it shipped thursday or friday and that annoys me. Fred.
I don't think you'll be able to get the new iPod with the promotion even if it's released then. Last year, the nano came out before the end of the promotion and it wasn't eligible and this year, the new iMac C2D came out and it is not eligible like the Core Duo version.Abulia said:I'll be ordering the machine on Tuesday just to avoid any Apple Event surprises. Will be interesting to see if I can work one of the new iPods on the Back to School promo as there will be two days of overlap...

On another note, My Dell FPW2005 20" widescreen came with a single link dvi cable. Will this cable work with my x1900 or will I need to get a dual link cable. Can the FPW2005 even take advantage of a dual link cable?

napolihos said:Congrats to all those reading this forum whose MPs have shipped. For those who are still waiting, don't believe the Apple order status page - they are catching up now and what's listed is the worst case scenario.
So now that my MP with x1900xt is on the way, I have BC/Parallels questions.
First, I've read that you need XP Pro to recognize all 4 cores on the MP - is that in fact true, i.e., XP Home doesn't cut it and don't bother!
Next, if you want to do BC with XP and also Parallels, do you have to have two licenses or, if you only have one license, do you have to choose one or the other implementation, because you can't do both.
Thirdly, if you have to choose between BC and Parallels, which do you guys with a delivered MP recommend - BC to get all the performance or Parallels to get all the convenience. Sucks if you have to choose!
Interested in your thoughts. Thanks. A proud Switcher!!!

I've also ordered a custom cooler/fan mount (Artic Cooler) for the X1900 to supposedly lower the noise output of the video card.
