Bunch of incorrect stuff said

Everything you have said is incorrect and misleading. But I can't post the corrections without violating an NDA.

Safely I can say this:

Tigerton/Caneland are FSB based, and no faster than today's Woodcrest's FSB They do not support PCI-E 16x by default on the caneland platform.

Tigerton/Dunnington are not the replacements for Clovertown. They are re-packaging of Clovertown into the Socket 604 for MP Servers (>4 Processor SOckets) and are not targeted at the workstation space. One processor alone will retail for more than the Mac Pro sells at current pricing structure.

the 'direct connect' you speak of will not show up in 2007.

I just checked the online status and she has finally shipped!!! its a long story that I won't bore you with but once again in this process I wasn't informed of shipping. its weird, apple is generally really good on their shipping in my experiences,

I have found that many ISP spam filters seem to tag Apple's shipping notices. My ISP uses MXLogic and many times they trap Apple emails.

Ordered custom MP on the 12th, ESD the 18th, delivery by the 25th.
Unlike some others with shipping problems, here's an update on mine:

Shipped on the 16th (2 days early) and estimated delivery by the 19th! Apparently I was magically upgraded to overnight shipping at no charge.

If this holds true, total time on my custom order from order to delivery will be seven days.

Mine is now scheduled to ship September 22

I am somewhat less than pleased.
Dude, you really should see if somebody local has/can make your specs and make Apple give you a credit. 9/22 is exceptionally too long to wait. Be a little forceful, talk to a manager.

That's just so wrong on some many different levels :p
You should have to wait at least 2 weeks like everybody else did, and endure a lot of grief with shipping delays :(

Sorry for beating a dead horse, .....

But mine finally fell off the truck this afternoon, I was/am at work though  (typical) can wait to get home, and run the EFI/SMC updates, and see if I can kill it before I get to attached to it :D, here's hoping some of the other people in this thread get their machines without much more waiting as well!

If people are still waiting this is really messed up...

My Mac Pro was ordered on friday (the 15th) and is due for delivery tomorrow (the 20th) AND I'm on the east coast.

I'm very happy I'll be getting my new Mac Pro w/x1900, but I have to say that it is really messed up that people who ordered soon after announcement still haven't shipped. period.

Good luck to all of you... I'll take plenty of photos for you.

Hey, since nobody replied in my thread, i thought i'd throw it over here: lMy 1900 is only coming up as 8 lanes when i'm in XP, it should be 16 right? Anybody know how to fix that. I'm using XP Pro, 32 bit.

Are you sure it is configured as 16 lanes in OS X?

Haha! :D

Well, it missed the truck yesterday and is out for delivery today. For my part I have to state that I am very impressed to receive my Mac Pro within 8 days from order to unboxing.

where on the east coast are you?
i placed my 2nd order a day after you, and if i had it overnighted, it would be here today. instead i got lousy fedex ground so it looks like a tuesday delivery.

congrats and enoy:p

I ordered mine on Friday the 15th, too, and was told that it would be shipped around September 29th. I ordered FedEx two-day air so the estimated delivery date is October 3rd.

Ordered the 3 GHz with all the bells and whistles, maybe that's the reason it's taking a little longer than some others ordered the same day?

Mine came with the SMC update already applied. Haven't tried the EFI yet, as I'm not seeing any problems on my machine yet, and I'd rather other people try it first

You're going to want the EFI update if you plan to use Boot Camp; the EFI update fixes the SATA performance issue.

It's Coming!!!

Just checked online.

Shipped yesterday. ON THE TRUCK TODAY!!!

I still can't believe that I'm getting this machine!!!

Okay, no more caffeine today. One more cup of coffee and I'm likely to just blast myself into outer space...LOL

Edit: Well, it came. Turns out that my Mac Pro was auto enrolled in the AppleCare and that in fact, all monitors are supposed to be on the same ticket as the CPU. Well, that wasn't what the Apple Store online or my local Apple Store said. I'm on hold right now with the post-sales rep who's speaking with the AppleCare manager to determine if they can make an exception for me. Bottom line: Absolutely buy your monitor with your CPU. Any other advice is wrong.

Edit 2: okay, it's all worked out. IF you buy the CPU and the AppleCare online, it will auto-enroll. Pretty cool stuff. You then have 30 days to integrate the monitor. However, you MUST call AppleCare directly in order to do that. You cannot just register it online and expect it to integrate. So anyone in the same place as me should know that in advance.... Whew! Originally, the very nice lady wanted me to send it back....I was horror-struck. Send back my dream??? (sob) So, no, no need for that, but DO make sure that you call AppleCare direct within 30 days in order to avoid having to purchase a separate AppleCare for the monitor. If you missed the 30 days, you have 1 year to purchase the separate AppleCare for the monitor.

Welp, I recieved mine yesterday, and had a chance to get it set up and what have you, after applying the EFI patch. Getting mail set up was a pian int he back side, as my net connection was flakey ( I can count the times on one hand when our net connection has been bad in the past several years, but last night it had to act up  ) anyways, long story short, yeehaw, great to be driving a Mac again! looks bloody good through the dual 22 widescreens I put with it, now just have to break open the piggy bank, and see what I can scrounge for some more ram and HDDs :D my only gripe though, the only game on there I could find was Chess. What no Nanosaur?!?!?! , oh well I get to re buy all my old favorite software once again, the wife is gonna love me :D

Posting from new machine

This was the fastest setup in history for me.

Plugged in the monitor (CRT via the INCLUDED VGA-->DVI connector), keyboard and THEN the Power cord as someone said as soon as you do that, the machine just STARTS. So I did. It had an instruction screen that showed how to install the batteries in a wireless mouse. Uh, no go for me since mine was wireless, but left in the box! Plugged it in an bingo!

Few questions about language, EULA and bingo, bango, it found my wireless net, I logged on to it and I was done.

I maybe took a minute and most of that was me balancing the keyboard on my lap. What the heck, it came 8 days before it was due (I am VERY happy about that). But...I hadn't bought the desk for it. So it's on my lap. I'll suffer...lol.

All I can say is that this machine is fast. It truly makes my laptop feel like mush.
