OMG, I have the same problem with my iPod that shipped this weekend. It did get past "Package data transmitted to Fedex" up to "Left Origin" (About an hour after it shipped). But it's stuck on that since then (about 2 days). Weird. Maybe their tracking page is not up to date.

Fred

What the first transmission means is that the shipper has notified Fedex that a shipment is imminent and a Fedex number has been assigned. The 2nd transmission means that the Fedex vehicle picked-up the package. Normally what you would see is:

Arrived at Fedex Sort Facility
Left Fedex Sort Facility
Arrived at Destination Facility
Left Destination Facility
Arrived Final Destination
On Truck for Delivery (Yippie Skippie!)

Maybe shippings are by destination location?

I am located in Massachusetts and mine has not yet shipped, everybody count off their location/order date/shipping status.

By UPS I usually get a 3:00 delivery, once I got 6:15. Dunno how FedEx or premium-shipping UPS works.

LOL I think most of the MacPros are in transit right now, for delivery tomorrow. If Apple had been nice enough to ship mine from Fullerton, I might have gotten it today. But I seem to be one of the forgotten X1900 users. LOL

BTW, if it's overnight, it's usually delivered in the morning. 2Day or Ground delivery, usually in the afternoons or evening.

Oh well, I could have sworn some people on here were expecting a delivery date of today. Maybe someone will have got one by the time I get back from the pub, who knows.

Yeah, at least, it still bugs me that they're shipping so strangely. (Well, I guess I wouldn't be bugged if the strange shipping had resulted in mine being shipped today)

Mine just shipped, AND I got confirmation that FedEx has picked up the package in the tracking information (already!). It will be at my door tomorrow, and I will let people know how the x1900 XT holds up (even if it is under Windows initially... I have some work I need to do under Windows using this sucker for the office before I can play).

Well, my tracking info finally updated and my delivery date got pushed from tomorrow to thursday.

That makes scheduling a nightmare. I won't be around on thursday. So now I more than likely won't get it 'till friday. Blast.

Oh well. Good news is it looks like I got a job at the apple store here in town.

Too bad you didn't wait until you got hired. You would have gotten a 25% discount on your Mac...

I already did get an education discount. But yeah, you're right, i could've saved $400 bucks. When I ordered, I didn't know I'd be an employee. But don't you worry, I'll be putting that 25% and 3 15%'s to good use. :D

Kinda sad that mine didn't ship today, especially when people who ordered later than me have gotten theirs shipped. Oh well.

the "Fire Sale" on refresh items are where the real discounts are, extra 15% off the refresh+fire sale price! got a PB for nearly 60 percent off the original price!

Yeah, but that depends on how generous Apple is feeling towards its employees that month. But yeah, I picked up SO much with that discount (17" 1.5* PB back in the day for $999, 23" ACD for $700 when it was $1799, eyeTV 200 for $40, etc.) If you ever wonder where all the GOOD stuff is in an Apple Store firesale pile, it's because the employees bought everything the night before

Fry's Is A Major Consumer Electronics & Computer Supermarket Out West

Whats a Fry's?

I always hear people on here talking about Fry's but I have no idea what a Fry's is.
Based in San Jose CA, Fry's has grown into a regional powerhouse in the San Francisco Bay Area, Portland OR, Texas, San Diego, Los Angels Area and Phoenix, Atlanta, Chicago, Indianapolis, Las Vegas Nevada, Portland Oregon, & Seattle Washington for ultra low prices on gear. They are particularly famous for offering gear at incredible prices on Holidays and the day after Thanksgiving and Christmas.

They run full page ads in the biggest papers in their metros like these in the San Jose Mercury News which we all get online about 6AM each day. If you use Firefox, each part of the ad pops up in a zoomed detail window as you mouse over different parts of it. Major 8 page inserts appear on Fridays. Holiday sale prices appear in the papers the day of the sale and in the case of the day after Thanksgiving and Christmas on those holidays before and on the day of - Black Friday and December 26.

I was there yesterday at 9AM when the door opened. But only about 20 of us were there even though 400GB SATA/300 and PATA/100 Seagate 7200 rpm HDs with 16MB buffers were only $99.99 - no rebate. :p

[ anaheim ] [ arlington ] [ austin ] [ burbank ] [ campbell ] [ city of industry ] [ concord ] [ dallas ] [ downers grove ] [ duluth ] [ fishers ] [ fountain valley ] [ fremont ] [ houston ] [ irving ] [ las vegas ] [ manhattan beach ] [ oxnard ] [ palo alto ] [ phoenix ] [ plano ] [ renton ] [ sacramento ] [ san diego ] [ san jose ] [ san marcos ] [ south houston ] [ sunnyvale ] [ tempe ] [ webster ] [ wilsonville ] [ woodland hills ] are all their city locations. I can't put in any of the links because their site is based on Frames - IE No different URLs for each page.

Could you perhaps elaborate on this "fire sale"?

Yes! Easy rotation support for my Dell 24" confirmed. (I'm not sure if anyone has answered that yet. I meant to check and respond as soon as I got my Mac Pro, but I've been a bit distracted ;))

Today was a holiday for FedEx Home Delivery (http://www.fedex.com/us/services/holidayschedule.html). My shipping confirmation from Apple said I would be getting my Mac Pro (7300 GT, not x1900 XT) on Sept. 1, but FedEx tracking said it would arrive on Sept. 5 until today. This morning at 10am the tracking page showed "delivery exception." I called FedEx, and they told me about the holiday schedule.

Whoah really? There was a FedEx Ground truck making deliveries earlier this evening (I'm in Torrance, CA).

EDIT: Hmm my bad, just checked that schedule. I've always figured they were the same company, I've had stuff to be delivered by Ground and it comes in a Home Delivery truck or vice versa. Interesting.

ATI x1900 XT Supports Dell Rotation • Whoopie!

Word. You are the first to report you received one with that post. Thanks for the prompt report.

Fantastic! That's exactly what I expected. And how about the noise from that card?

Some joker here said it didn't support rotation. But another member warned me he was not a reliable person and I then noticed he had been banned. Turned out to be some sort of Troll. I'm very excited to learn this. :)

Congratulations on your reception of the ATI equipped Mac Pro.
