Suppose it's true. Wanted to understand what really happened in Shenzen and elsewhere in China. Lockdown is one part, heard they had problems with customs clearance...
My Studio Mac was originally scheduled for May 10-17 and I received notification of shipment last week with a due date of April 14. That did not happen and the eventual reason on the UPS site was "delayed at customs" in Hong Kong. It has now arrived locally and is due today. Absolutely no word on the Display though . That was supposed to arrive April 20-27, but I have received no update since then.

Sometimes I think if Apple PR hadn’t given out everyone in the media and their influencer friends review units we all would have had our choice of Mac Studio and Studio display delivered weeks ago. Just sayin…..

Rather good to hear that you're getting the computer a month earlier than promised, and that the monitor remains within the promised timeframe. What's your computer configuration?

Actually, Apple was pretty selective about who got review units. Interestingly, some of the units went to people who don't have large followings but whose views Apple wanted anyway. I wish that it had provided fewer Ultras and more Maxes. Very few reviewers got a Max. It isn't clear whether that was Apple's decision or the result of reviewer preference.

Interesting to note the timing from shipping to it being ready for delivery.

I only ordered mine on 11 April and delivery was stated as 17-24 May. I received a shipping notification on 16 April and it is due on 03 May. DHL updated to 'shipping information received' a couple of days ago. My card has still not been charged though, perhaps due to the holiday period (maybe it will be charged tomorrow).

It will be interesting to see how long DHL take to show updated shipping information. It seems to have taken no more than a week for you.

Where should the product be shipped?

Weird.

20 core 64 core GPU 128gb 4TB ordered 19 March. Stated arriving mid June.

Apple just took payment today. Arrival date hasn’t changed. No update.

Bit weird they’ve taken payment from me 2 months prior to original stated arrival date.

Anyone else had similar happen?

To note: I used a business debit card NOT credit. Looks like money has been taken from my account rather than any sort of ‘hold’ payment.

I don't know if this is the case for you, but with most CTO products I often have authorizations from Apple that drop off after a few days. Sometimes the unit ships before I see the actual charge appear.

Unless the debit was an error or just an authorisation check, this suggests that you're going to get the computer much sooner than promised. If you get a shipping date in the next few days, I, and probably others, would be interested in the date.

My CC was charged 5 days prior to shipping, and it shipped 7 days prior to delivery window of April 20-27. While it shipped on 4/13, it was held up in HK customs for a few days. It is now on its way and delivery is set for 4/19, ultimately arriving only 1 day earlier than original window.

Ultra 20c/48gpu/64GB/2TB ordered March 9th. Arrival window April 18-28 to USA.

Any idea on how long shipments are getting delayed flying out of Hong Kong? Mine has been sitting there since April 15th.

I ordered the standard model with10 core CPU and 32 gig, but a 2 terabyte hard drive. For the monitor everything is standard. Hope it ships soon. My unit arrived this morning.

An authorization for the amount of my computer hit my credit card about three weeks ago. It’s since dropped off, but my computer (ordered on March 8th; delivery window May 11 - May 25) is still “Processing.”

In other words, if what you’re seeing on your credit card is just an authorization, then it’s pretty likely it’ll drop off your card long before your order ships.
