No, they don´t. Thanks anyway.

Yes, that's why I deleted my post. B&H showed three Ultras available first thing this morning, but not now. Either they sold out or it was an error. It has been getting stock that is built to order from Apple and other resellers.

For example, this is what B&H's site showed for one of the Ultra configurations earlier this morning, but it is no longer available:

I ordered my Mac Studio (base model with 64 gb ram and 2 tb ssd) at the end of march and it said it wouldn't be delivered until June/July, but apple charged my card today. Does that mean it's coming sooner than expected?

I hope so. Per my signature, that's what I ordered on April 1, except with 32 GPU cores. Same delivery window. My card hasn't been debited, though :)

Lately, some people have received their computer 4-6 weeks before the start of their delivery window.

I bet it does. Got mine yesterday instead of May 3rd (and June 12) and I had checked my card the day before and the charge was on there. Fingers crosse.

Almost same for me. My Amex card reservation came back again today. It disappeared somehow some time after I ordered. Now it says it can take up to 72 hrs before the card gets charged. Though the amount doesn't fit either the Mac Studio or the Studio Display, or both together.
What I got for my old iMac plus the Amex-points I used in the purchase can't been that much so the reservation now covers both. We'll see.
Something is happening anyway 😁

I'm no expert on these transactions, but I suspect that the initial charge is made for authorisation purposes and is temporary. I know that that's how B&H does it, and I think that Apple does the same or something similar.

Yes exactly, especially when there's no withdrawal from wherever I buy from anytime soon, I can recall when I gave it a thought.

No progress from my edu order of the exact same config, ordered 3/12 in California. Day 47 and counting.
The exact same over here.
Ordered the same config (Ultra/48/64/2TB) from 3/19 over apples edu store.
So far nothing changed. No charged card, no further information.
Estimated delivery to Germany is 9-23 Jun.

How are people learning about the pre-shipment debit to their credit card? From an e-mail from Apple? From watching their recent credit card transactions?

Also, does the debit take place a predictable number of days before notice of shipment activity, or is there no obvious pattern?

Thanks

Basic Mac Studio Max 64 GB.
Ordered March 29.
Estimated delivery date was June 16-30.
However, on April 15 I received notification that it was shipped (imagine the joy haha).
Delivered April 25.

P.S. Boot time is 16 seconds (and I have tons of stuff installed and quite a few apps that open on startup).
This feels unreal. My iMac 2017 27" - which this Mac Studio replaces - takes 2+ minutes to boot. In general, rebooting desktop Macs has always been so painfully slow that I was always trying to avoid it as much as possible. Mac Studio makes it a non-issue.

After 3 days of using it, my impression is that it's the first desktop Mac I use (since mid-90s) that I can call truly FAST.

I assume your 2017 iMac was not an SSD drive then...?

My delivery date upon ordering was 5th May.
Been following on Apple Store App.
Today my bank app showed the transaction pending for the Apple Store and checking on Apple Store app then that is now showing as shipped so on way to store. (Went for instore pickup)
Yesterday when checked was still showing as processing.

Delivery times seem to depend more on configurations than on order date.
The closer to standard/the less BTO, the more likely ahead of schedule.
The ones depending on 100% cores/memory wafer output seem to be another bottleneck
COVID logistics do the rest

That´s the theory, so far.

Still waiting for MS Ultra 20/48/128/8
Order Date: 3/10/22

I don't know about others, but this is the first time that I've seen the delivery window update unconnected to shipping events. I assume that the configuration is actually 32/64/1TB.

You assumed correctly! Have amended my post. I was pretty surprised to see this update actually, despite the fact I check multiple times a day 🫠

Wasn’t expecting to be posting in this thread until early June, but my credit card also got charged for the Mac Studio yesterday.

Only problem… the charge for the display hasn’t happened yet.
The original delivery estimates had the display arriving at end of May and the Mac arriving first half of June. I thought maybe I’d plug my MacBook into the display.

But if the Mac Studio arrives first, I’m still going to have to carry on using my old iMac while I wait for the display to arrive.

Oh what a rollercoaster of emotions that ordering Apple products brings 😁

After sitting in Chek Lap Kok for 3-4 days my Studio left this morning, arrived in Taoyuan, Taiwan and then left there as well. UPS changed the delivery date from today (go figure) to Monday... We'll see if it gets stateside and into a distribution center and onto a truck all by Monday a.m. or if Tuesday is more likely.

But anyway you slice it 5/2 or 5/3 or even a couple days later in the week beats my original order estimate of 5/27-6/3.

I was truthfully hoping to have more time as I have a lot of clean up in my office and on my existing machine to do in advance of the arrival and setup, as well as a host of other home improvement projects. Yes, Spring is here!
