Order: Mac Studio M1 Max 10/24/16, configuration: 2 TB / 64 GB

Order date: 30th March

Original delivery window: 21st June - 4th July

Chain of events:

16th April: revised delivery window (by Apple): 4th May
16th April: estimated delivery date (by TNT): 20th April

Main events of the TNT-Tracking (the original tracking was inaccurately and incomplete)

16th April: Shenzen
28th April: Elst, Netherlands
29th April: Grâce-Hollogne, Belgium
29th April: Basle, Switzerland
29th April: Zurich, Switzerland (delivered)

Delivery time:
30 days

We're seeing more and more reports of delivery that's early by 4-6 weeks, but this is the first I've seen of 7½ weeks before the start of the original delivery window.

It's also one more indication that linking delivery times to memory as a component is just speculation.

The exact same over here.
Ordered the same config (Ultra/48/64/2TB) from 3/19 over apples edu store.
So far nothing changed. No charged card, no further information.
Estimated delivery to Germany is 9-23 Jun.
Today, Apple updated my estimated delivery window.
Jumped from 9-23 Jun to 14-28 Jun.
I guess this is caused by the pandemic situation in Hong Kong & Shanghai. ^^

Well that's terrible. First I've seen the date get pushed back. Let us know if that changes again.

I would guess this is caused by logistics delays in Hong Kong & Shanghai.

My order got bumped ahead by roughly a month today, yay! Ordered (on the 22nd of April) the M1 Max 24 core GPU 64GB RAM. Original window was 19th of July to August 2nd. It's now June 16-29. No charges to my card yet. I'm still hoping it will actually ship even earlier than that obviously as I'm really really ready to move on from my 2019 MBP.

I ordered a base 32 and my bump was the drive from 512 to 1TB. So my ship date was not out as far, but I did get an earlier than expected ship. However, I expect your longer original and still updated ship date is due to the 64GB which is part of the SoC. My SoC is a base Max so only the SSD changed from the base model.

Yes, I assume so as well. I debate for a day wether to get the 32GB base model due to the shorter lead times but eventually just decided I should just go for what I really want, and wait it out. I expect / want this computer to be my main workhorse for 5+ years so it made more sense to bump the RAM. I'll just keep on checking the order several times per day, it's part of the fun :D

Ok this is annoying. My Studio Display is supposed to ship May 27-June 13. And my Mac Studio in mid-July. I planned to use the display off of my 14" MBP. Well I checked my credit card and Apple billed the Mac Studio despite the website now showing it shipped.

So, I will have to return the Studio without even opening it (I don't have any other displays at home) and re-order. I might just say screw it and buy a 2nd 16" laptop (they are in stock locally) to use as a desktop as the wait times are even longer now for a Mac Studio.

Anyone else having this issue?

My times are similar to Roland.g’s. My initial ETA was June 2nd. Apple now shows May 9th…but UPS is showing a time window for Monday, May 2nd. Just left Anchorage so UPS is probably close to correct delivery to southeastern US. That’s a full 1 month early. Jamooche, it’s plausible that both will arrive mid-June For you. Seems to be wait, wait, wait…then it moves fast. A day in China, 3 days in Hong Kong and went from there to Taiwan to Anchorage and out. If it matters, my studio is base Max upgraded to 2 TB SSD.

Seems a number of us in a similar shipping pattern. Original window was May 10-24, now Apple says May 9 but UPS says left Anchorage and should arrive Monday, May 2. Ordered first day but waited a few hours. Studio Ultra.

Mine is a base 32 Max with the SSD upped to 1TB. Just ordered 5 days ago and expected delivery was mid June. Three days ago, my credit card was charged and yesterday the status page reflected that it was shipped. Today, my AppleCare was activated. The status page now says delivery by 13 May. A very pleasant surprise. I suspect that I may get it next week if I’m lucky. I am in Singapore

Ultra/48/64/2TB ordered on 3/25 within US. Scheduled June 14-28. No updates since ordering (although the studio display ordered at the same time has already arrived.)
Since we are both in the US, ordered the same configuration around the same time, I'd love to know when you get any updates. Good luck to us!

Yeah that's three of us in the same boat. The funny thing is that yesterday I checked my local Apple store and they have the same Ultra but with a 1TB drive available for pickup in the store right now. And I see plenty of 2TB Max models seem to be shipping, so why is it taking so much longer with a 2TB. It's perplexing and very frustrating. I'd go buy that Ultra in the store in a second and cancel my delivery order if it had a 2TB or larger SSD.

Which Apple store had an Ultra in stock?

Thanks. Yes, the stores are only carrying the base Max and base Ultra. There are plenty of Maxes, but stock of the Ultra has slowed to a trickle. The 12 New York City stores haven't had one for a month.
I was surprised to see one, but Modesto is pretty far removed from the demand of the SF Bay Area. I'd go buy one there, but I don't want to be worried about the internal drive size of my Ultra for the entire tine I own it. Honestly, I'd switch from 2TB to 4TB at this point, but that would reset my wait time, which is already at about 50 days so far.

I also ordered this configuration from the Education store, but on April 1st. I'm in Australia, and my estimated delivery window is June 21st - July 5th. My order has not progressed beyond 'Processing' at this stage, and my card has yet to be charged. Based on the posts in this thread, it looks as though the Max orders are moving more quickly than the Ultra orders.

Is there a summary of the state of play?

It will depend on your country, of course. Here in the UK there seems to be a shortage of everything, not just tech. I was lucky enough to get the base Max Studio on 18 Mar, but would really like more RAM, and SSD, if not an Ultra rather than Max, but the lead time seems to be 3-4 months, presumably because of a memory shortage and Chinese lockdowns.

In the U.S., base Maxes are readily available from Apple stores and other resellers, but base Ultras are currently at a trickle.

Recent posts on Studios built to order suggest that a fair number of people are starting to get both Maxes and Ultras 4 to 6 weeks before the beginning of their original delivery window. This is not confined to the U.S. The day before yesterday, a person in Switzerland reported receiving his computer 7½ weeks before the start of his delivery window.

It's unclear what impact lockdown measures in Shanghai are having, but it seems clear that there's a backlog of freight at Hong Kong airport. People report that their computer was stuck at the airport for 3-5 days, but moved rapidly after it left Hong Kong. I don't see any demonstrable connection between the availability of particular components, such as memory, and delivery. There appear to be very few late deliveries, and a spate that happened 10-14 days ago seems to have been caused by courier tracking problems.

The delivery window for the Max in my signature, ordered in New York on April 1st, is June 27-July 11. Given posts over the last week or so, I think that there's a real possibility that I'll receive it sometime between the middle and end of May. I think that the wildcard is coronavirus measures in China.

Why do you have to return it? Why not just leave it in the box until the display arrives in a few weeks time?
