My read of the posts differs from this. It appears that deliveries are happening within the original window or before, increasingly before. Deliveries that are late appear to be due to UPS/DHL freight delays rather than computer assembly delays.

I was among of a batch of users who received updated delivery dates 3 weeks later than the original delivery date. These revised dates were provided by Apple on the first day our units were supposed to deliver (April 7- April 14). All of us had upgraded RAM. My computer arrived after the initial delivery window, but before the revised 3-week-later window. Maybe you’re counting coming before a revised delivery window as early, but since mine didn’t even ship in time to meet the original window, I don’t chalk up the delay to shipping.

No, I'm saying that the situation that you're talking about is not typical of what posts show is happening generally. The norm is that Studios are delivered within the original window, and it appears that increasing numbers of people are getting delivery early, in some cases by a month or more before the start date of the window. There is also no demonstrable correlation between memory configuration and late delivery.

If Apple was regularly delivering Studios late (i.e. after the end date of the window), there would be a major uproar about it. There isn't, because it isn't happening. If anything, I think that Apple has been cautious about delivery commitments, which is both basic business sense and common sense given wildcards like pandemic measures. The latter is the most plausible reason that freight appears to be backed up at Hong Kong airport at the moment.

Same thing happened to me. Stuck for 6 days and now loaded on a truck out for delivery after passing through Alaska.

Just got shipping notice from B&H, ordered March 17, delivery for April 28:

Just got shipping notice from B&H, ordered March 17, delivery for April 28:

M1 Max 10-core CPU, 24-core GPU
32 GB RAM
2TB SSD

B&H appears to have that Mac Studio configuration in stock. Yesterday, it showed "Preorder", but today it shows "Add to Cart". I just put it through checkout, and it's available for immediate shipping. If that's correct, it's presumably in their New Jersey warehouse. B&H also appears to have the base Max with a 4TB SSD.

Note for others: B&H doesn't accept return of computers if the box is opened. However, Apple's warranty remains in place, and B&H has a "no tax" credit card that makes buying from it financially attractive.

Do you connect external storage drives to the Studio or to the Studio display?

Mine (Mac studio max basic and studio display height-adjustable, ordered march 14th) was initially scheduled for delivery on April 20-27, on April 22 went from processing to preparing to ship and immediately shipped, but the confirmation email tells me it will be (maybe) here on May 6th because devices were sent from different places and they need to be reunited before DHL takes them for delivery. Is it normal? Anyway, can't do anything but wait...

After 7 days stuck in HK, finally went to Taiwan, then Dubai and now is on its way to Cologne. UPS shows delivery date for tomorrow, but I'm not sure if it will make it by tomorrow... tracking the flight it should arrive to Cologne by 23:00, then go to Spain and then to my local depot... we'll see

My Mac Studio arrived at 2:00PM after leaving Taiwan yesterday morning. It traveled to Anchorage, AK then Louisville, KY and Lansing, MI. From there it was trucked to the UPS local delivery hub and was delivered today. It's amazing that a box can start in Taiwan and be in my hands in one day! It's unboxed, and I'm letting it warm to room temperature before I crank it up. The box arrived with no damage. UPS did a great job!

Well, it just went from ‘Preparing to Ship’ to ‘Arrives Wed April27’ (tomorrow). A label had been created for the parcel, but no tracking info is available yet.

Ordered: March 10
Estimated Delivery: April 22 - 29
Shipped: April 26
Arrived: April 27 (Memphis, TN)

No additional tracking information was provided before April 26th, so I’m not sure what path it traveled to get here.

You can connect to either, I have some connected through my two studio displays and seems to perform fine. One caveat, the 40Gb ports on the ultra will be faster than the studio displays. Also my ultra is supposed to arrive today, I can test it out. I have my i9 MBP connected and running both displays right now and keeps my MacBook charged fine, can transfer or connect via ports on displays.

Right - I checked yesterday and it said "Preorder," so I was really surprised to get a shipping notice this morning.

Actually, the Studio Display was just delivered in MD - after being shipped by B&H this morning!
Now I just have to hope that I get a "good" Studio, since I can't return it to B&H.

B&H specifically exempts computers from its otherwise 30 day/no questions asked return policy. People with B&H credit cards save the tax, and Apple's own warranty remains in place.

My day 1 order which has finally just shipped several days ago has been delayed in shipping!

It seems to be in HK and has been for a very long time. Maybe a COVID related delay? I know their government are crazy.

Makes sense since apple just shipped my maxed config model a few days ago. I don't think they had hardly any max configs ready at all until very recently.

They seem to be getting held up in the whole china covid situation though!

Any data points on how many days after charge posting the studio has shipped? Ordered a Day 1 ultra config with maximized specs - expected May 11-25, but just saw charge post on Apple Card two days prior. Wondering if this means its getting ready for shipment. Order still says "order in progress" and has not moved to prepared for shipment.
