Has anyone who just got “prepare to ship” status yesterday for a base or set configuration (not BTO) in the USA, been able to track by reference on the UPS site with their telephone number yet? Thanks!
Can anyone in the US with a projected Friday delivery date and a base config see the package info in UPS tracking by reference yet? I paid with paypal and that status moved to “processing transaction” so maybe the shipping label won’t print until the money is officially deducted.

Arrives 21 March - 22 March

When your order has shipped, we’ll send you tracking information. Due to the impact of COVID-19 and increased demand for online shopping, we recommend visiting Track Shipment for the most up-to-date delivery information, as well as options to reschedule or redirect your delivery.

I always thought preparing to ship meant it was built and ready to leave on a pallet.

Machines go through a QA “burn in” period before they‘re ready to leave. That could take a day or two. As far the build process goes, it doesn’t take the robots more than a few minutes to assemble the parts.

"[Foxconn] has activated plans to use facilities in other cities to support production."

The question is, do they have other facilities for the Mac Studio? They do for iPhones, but none of the news articles I’ve read mention computers. Apparently, the reporters didn’t consider those important enough to ask about.

For what it’s worth, my Studio Display left one facility in Shenzhen (the factory, I assume) and arrived at another facility in Shenzhen (probably a UPS warehouse). I received that information from UPS My Choice and identified the package by its weight. I expect it will now be stuck there for at least a week.

I ordered as soon as I could after the keynote. My M1 Ultra originally had a date of March 18-21. Then yesterday it was changed to 3-5 business days. Now I noticed the pre Auth dropped off my Apple Card.

I don't know when it's coming at this point. Perhaps the Ultra means ultra rare.

I would think that if Apple concludes that the Shenzhen measures will have a significant impact on delivery, it will make a statement about the situation. It may not have enough clarity itself yet. It will be interesting to see what Apple store inventory looks like on Friday. I assume that those computers are already in the U.S.

How do Apple Support look up our order shipping date? When I talked to them today, they saw it is coming at 21st, which is what UPS has given but the tracking number is not in order website.

My M1 Max also had the authorization drop off my Apple Card.

If you go to UPS My Choice, you can see your shipments without a shipping number.

I know I can do that, but how did Apple Support find that out was my question.
They have the shipping number. If it’s left the factory a shipping number has already been created. Apple support is likely seeing the exact same thing we see in the UPS app.

I believe the embargo lifts tomorrow so at least we will get the 411 from the YouTubers.

I'd like to see what Marques Brownlee, Dave Lee and AnandTech have to say, but it seemed pretty clear from Brownlee's video on the March 8 event that he didn't have a Mac Studio in his possession. Maybe he's gotten one since.

My charge has settled on my Apple Card. M1 Max 18-22 delivery.
Same status here. Ordered about as fast as I could on 3/8, charge posted yesterday. No auth or charge yet for Studio display, which I held off a couple hours on before pulling the trigger. Slated for 4/7 - 4/13 delivery.
