It seems the Max is more available. Even with special configuration. At times you can find them even in stock in the US.

However the Ultra even in its basic configuration is still struggling. My delivery window of 27th July to 10th August is approaching, but no sign of early delivery as seen with the Max.

Anyone with Ultra order in the US getting earlier delivery ?

I'm on day 57 (ordered May 24th) and still no movement on my Ultra. Delivery dates estimated at August 18th - September 1st.

Since my ultra is canceled or delayed, I cancel my order. I think it's nonsense for a computer. It's going to arrive and it's almost outdated.

Basic Ultra ordered June 7. Delivery dates estimated July 27 - Ago 10

In other words, knowing the delivery window at the time of your order, six weeks later (plus a couple of days) you've cancelled it on a computer that may arrive as early as next Wednesday. OK.

Let's talk about it, I'm on day 81, and nobody knows anything...

You ordered from a reseller. Did the reseller give you a delivery window? If so, are you beyond it? Posts in this thread suggest that there are very few cases where Apple has missed a delivery window, and that those cases are due to courier problems. Indeed, the overall message is that Apple's delivery estimates are conservative and that many purchasers, especially of a Studio Max, are likely to receive their Mac Studio sooner than Apple estimated.

(Apple’s) delivery windows - for ultra - seem trustworthy. That is, in most cases you should expect to hear nothing until perhaps a week before the start of the window. Studio Max machines have been much faster to deliver recently but mostly not ultras.

My ultra was worth the wait. I do expect it to be ‘outdated’ maybe as soon as next year by the new Mac Pro and the next generations of ultra. Maybe even the M3 Max (2024?) will be faster.

But in terms of my particular needs (development, large mathematical simulations etc) I don’t expect this machine to be meaningfully outperformed for many years.

Of course, I appreciate for other use cases it may date faster…

Day 116 here, nothing. This is frustrating. Reseller doesn´t have any info, their website/store says 19-21 aug but that has changed 6 or 7 times all ready.

I received a strange email today, it was from a @ups.com address and was asking for my email address and telephone number, both of which UPS have on file as I put them both on the "file a claim" form. Add to that the fact that this person has literally sent me an email to ask me what my email address is and it all seems very strange. Or I'm imagining things *shrug*

Also, I had a missed call from a number which when I googled it seems to be linked to UPS Germany (I live in the UK).

Do you have contact info, from when you made the order (from UPS)....?
If so I would email them direct, and query it.

There are far too many scams around to take a chance.

I’ve just refreshed the UPS tracking page and the main status has changed from “No information” to “Monday July 25 by end of day” - though the detailed status still says “We have opened an investigation into your lost package” so I don’t know what to think.
I’ll work from home again Monday and if it turns up I’ll ring Apple and get them to cancel the replacement.

Unpack and switch it on first though, to make sure you have a quiet one. If you don’t, it would be useful to have a replacement already in the system.

The chance of a studio with a ‘whine’ problem (around 2.2KHz) seems low, but there is little doubt there have been some with a genuine issue even - recently - a refurbished one.

Hopefully not......🤞
That would be so annoying, to wait ANOTHER 8+ weeks.

Delivered Sunday morning to my absolute shock! Two days before the start of the official delivery window.

Installed everything with zero problems. This thing is silent and deadly, what a beauty.
I think mine is our for delivery too!! Are you on the Gold Coast Australia??

Sydney. Good luck mate, hope it arrives today :)
Hi mate, I am in Melbourne, on 23Jul apple sent me Tracking No., On which day did you get the tracking number(email from apple "Your shipment is on its way. Order No. XXX")?

On my UPS tracking info, on 23 Jul shows "Shipment picked up (Location SHENZHEN)", then never changes status, today already 26th.

How is your tracking history look like?

This is of course assuming it turns up in the first place!
Oh this is pants. I didn't actually pay any attention to the thread last week apart to post that mine had been delivered (it went to a friend) while I was on holiday. I expected you to have got yours either the same day, or the day after mine came.

Hope it gets sorted quickly.

Thanks, I’m pleased to report that it was delivered this afternoon. Haven’t had much time to play yet as I’ve had my little fella to see to. Although he was happy to “help” set it up lol.
I have to say the old 30 inch ACD doesn’t look half as bad as I expected, in fact it still looks quite good! Can hold off buying a monitor for a while. Have left it downloading FCP and Motion over a less than ideal wifi connection as for some reason the wired network is showing a self assigned ip which I haven’t had time to troubleshoot yet. Once the little fella goes to bed I’ll have a play and report back. For now here’s a quick snapshot of my hurried setup, tidying still to do.

Is that a 'small'.....😳.....tv I see.
It dwarfs the 30" ACD.
Are you going to connect it to the Studio.

Like the mat for mouse/keyboard, is that a cutting board, and where from.....?

That's an LG 55 inch curved OLED that we've had kicking around for a few years not being used, I figured I'd see what it was like connected to the Studio. Not convinced so far, picture quality (ie sharpness, even scaled there's no blur) is nice but the cooler difference between it and the ACD for photos is jarring, not sure if its the HDR causing problems but skin tones look awful on it.

The mat we spotted in Ikea when we were buying the desks last week.

Actually the color shift isn't too bad, but sometimes when moving from one monitor to another the image within PS gets a lot of red added, either way. Weird, doesn't happen everytime just now and then.

Looks better with HDR switched off though. Not sure how that'll effect FCP and Resolve.
