Is there a separate thread for just Studio Display pre orders?

My order: Studio Display with nano texture and VESA, delivery 6-13 April (UK)

Just wanted to pop in here and say "God, I want this thing." I've got basically zero reason to buy one, as I'm not a creative professional with the need for that level of power and already have a MBP (don't need two Macs). But damn, it's so cool and I want it.

Not that I know of. But you are also welcome here. ? What Vesa arm or stand will you use? I'm looking for one at the moment and am a little bit overwhelmed right now. Ideally I want some kind of system that I can expand over time in case I get a second display. And I would like to have everything mounted to a single pole.

Maybe you should adapt your hobbies in a direction that would justify that kind of machine. ?

Well, I just got the keyboard in the mail. Now I just have to wait for the rest of the system to arrive... ?

Love the new braided cable!

How does it type? :)

About the Mac Studio: I'm really looking forward to it, but I must say I'm not overwhelmed or impressed by its design (yet). Maybe that's a good thing: the cube and the trashcan looked really nice, but probably didn't have the best and efficient design when it comes to airflow/thermals.

Yeah, same. The iMac was an elegant piece of hardware at least back when it was released and its bezels where a normal size. But this Studio is some kind of bread box on a desk. I'm still excited about the power. Let's see how it looks in reality.

That’s really funny that you say that, because I’ve been thinking about it all day. Always wanted to be a tech YouTuber. 4K video editing, here I come! ?

I had to put children to bed and then watch the presentation without spoilers, so my Studio Display order was placed late, delivery estimated first week of April.

Just decided to place an order for another one, and the estimate is now six weeks.

Am a really happy with the Ergotron HX.

I tried the wall-mounted version first, but the up-down range wasn't sufficient to accommodate a standing desk, so now I have the dual-monitor version mounted on my desk, and this is what the Studio Display will go on. (Replacing one of my HP Z27, for now.)

The parts for the four arms (dual/single, wall/desk) are all interchangeable, I ordered a single desk-mount to convert the dual wall-mount I bought first. However, you cannot purchase the parts individually, so you'd have to find someone to swap with. (I now have a single wall-mount to sell if you're interested.)

What you can do is get a single, and then convert it to triple with this:

My configuration (M1 Max 10/32, 64GB, 1TB) now has an 8-10 week estimated ship time in Japan. Seeing that, I don't feel too bad about my 24 March arrival date.

Is any other country seeing (what could be) late May delivery dates?

In Germany your configuration (which is also mine) has a delivery date of 16th May to 31st May now. I'm also ok with my 21st March delivery date. ?

Thank you! Sadly Ergotron doesn't seem to have some kind of pole system. If I get a second display I need to move them separately. But I don't like to have two arms clamping to my desk for that because I also might want to clamp other things like a camera, a light and a microphone to that pole.
At the moment I'm looking at the offerings of CBS: https://www.colebrookbossonsaunders.com/monitor-arms/

I'm just going to buy the Mac Studio base model...does it make more sense to just wait until March 18th and try to get lucky with one in store than order one and have to wait until April?

In the case of the MacBook Pro 14", it was no problem for me to reserve and also pick up a base model at my nearest store on launch day. So if you have time on the 18th there is quite a good chance to be lucky.

They do, but they can get pretty expensive. I use a pair of Ergotron LX Desk Monitor Arms with my current setup. At home I wanted the option of moving the screens independently, since I wasn't 100% sure what my final desk setup might end up being when I bought them. At work I have a trio of 1080p monitors all mounted on a single pole

My home monitors are a mixed pair from MSI. One is a 24" curved 1080p 144Hz model, while the other is its larger sibling, a 27" curved 1440p 165Hz display. (I had the 24" first, then wanted something bigger, but didn't want to go back to a single screen. I may replace the 24 with another 27 someday.)

I sit at my desk most of the day, but wouldn't mind moving from time to time. Do you think it makes sense to buy a 14" MacBook Pro that's configured to match the entry level Mac Studio? I could just.have it in clamshell until I need to move and it looks to be only $800 more.

Oh, thank you, how could I miss that? ? I will have a look.
