So my rubberized case from ebay came in today finally. Fit and finish is damn near perfect. Everything snaps/locks into place perfectly. It's still very slim. The keyboard skin is just whatever. It was free, so I didn't really care. I don't plan on using the case or the skin 99% of the time. Only got them for when I travel and have to take the laptop out to scan at airports. Now I can just toss this in my messenger bag quick and easy and not have to worry too much.

Is there any overlap where your wrists rest? Thinking about buying one myself as I travel quite a bit with mine for school and am just wondering about the comfort.

Ever so slightly. Maybe by 1mm. It's by design though. The sides are flush, maybe even a hair lower than than the macbook body. Then as it wraps around to the front it raises symmetrically on both sides. I think its so the top half/lid doesn't rest on the body when closed, instead the pressure point becomes case on case. Didn't really notice an issue with comfort. The only time my forearms would rest on that edge would be when lying in bed. It's a soft edge, not a sharp one. But comfort would be subjective depending on your posture/typing position.

I have seen someone post that they have received their SFBags Cityslicker for the rMBP and that they would post pictures. Have yet to see any. I would really like so see how the bag looks.

Or the Travel Express for it...

Just received my CitySlicker bag from Waterfield Designs for my rMBP and i got to say it really is top quality!
Service was great, email response was very good. They had a little slow release but that is to expect with a very new product, high demand and custom made.
I gotta say i recommend it if you got the cash, also they include a very customer friendly invoice on the post package so the customs don't "overcharge" ;)
I also got the "Suede Jacket Sleeve" for the rMBP and even that sleeve is nicely padded on the bottom! (didn't expect that)

Now i can put the rMBP in the CitySlicker and even fit my iPad in the back of the CitySlicker.

1 Happy sfbags customer! :apple:

Where did you order your rubber case from? Any suitable places in UK or ebay.co.uk ?

Thanks for the pics. Do you think the charger can fit in the pocket you have put your iPad in?

Thanks. Well it's possible to put the charger in the pocket where i put the iPad, but it's a very thin sheet of nylon type fabric. Think that the back pocket is meant for magazines, iPad, flat type objects.
This bag is not perfect if you need to bring your charger with you in the same bag.

EDIT:
Tested it again and the charger does fit in the front pocket! Sorry about the misunderstanding.

Here are some pics of the sfbags (Waterfield Designs) Cargo Mambo Combo set (Cargo bag and Sleevecase laptop bag/insert plus accessories). My earlier post covered my general impressions, and so I'm just going to show some pics. This is for the medium-size bag.

(Click on a picture for a larger view.)

Sleevecase with optional flap and D-rings:

img0139acopy.jpg

I got the optional flap and D-rings so that I could use the sleevecase as a carry bag, too.

Sleevecase with rMBP:

img0140acopy.jpg

The fit is what I'd call, "almost-snug" to "barely-snug":

img0141acopy.jpg

With my sleeve, I can put the rMBP into the sleeve, I can pick up everything by grabbing only the rMBP, and the sleeve won't slide off. However, a simple shake will cause the sleeve to slide off. The fit is tight enough that no amount of shaking (the sleeve with the rMBP) will cause my rMBP to slide around in the sleeve. I think I like it this way.

Moving on to the bag: here's a closeup of the half-moon pocket under the bag flap -- it's surprisingly big (and, yes, that tiny-looking power adapter really is the large rMBP charger and extension cord):

img0144acopy.jpg

Here's a picture of the sleevecase & rMBP going into the case (here, I've folded back the sleevecase flap, because the flap just gets in the way when inserted into the bag):

img0148acopy.jpg

rMBP sliding into the sleevecase that's completely in the bag:

img0147acopy.jpg

And here's a shot that shows how much room there is inside the bag, with the sleevecase w/rMBP:

img0145acopy.jpg

That book is 1 7/8" thick, and there's probably another 1/4" to 1/2" of space (this is with the power adapter and mouse stored in the half-moon pocket). I'd be nervous about putting too many things into this bag, as that might put pressure on the LCD display.

Was at the local Apple store getting my fix and noticed Puma brand sleeves. I compared them to Incase on the same shelf. The Puma sleeve has firmer neoprene that is a bit thicker. So I believe I would will go for one of those in the short term.

I had one of the Puma sleeves, and while they look nice, I saw from use that the "fur" that is on the inside was getting stuck on the side vents of my rMBP. Needless to say, I didn't like much the idea of one of these strands getting sucked into the case so I returned it and now have a Level8 World Checkpoint Slim Case. While a little thicker then just a sleeve, it seems to provide better cushioning and it has pockets for my charger and accessories.

Incase Nylon Sling Sleeve

For thrifty Retina MBP owners :)
I found this at a Marshalls for $18. It didn't say it was for the Retina but to me it fits perfect. I wouldn't want it to fit tight because it would be hard to remove. On Incase's website they list what appears to be the same item for both the Retina and non-Retina MBP. The item # is different but the pictures look exactly the same. The one I got is really nice. Some features I like about it:
-The fabric on the inside is super soft.
-There is a little cover over the zipper on one side that covers the zipper as you slide the laptop in so that it doesn't scratch it.
-Pockets: one large one on one side and two smaller ones on the opposite
-Detachable shoulder strap. The latches are metal and super durable. I'm used to seeing plastic here. The shoulder strap has a nice pad on it too.
-Two briefcase handles that can fold into a pocket if not used.
-Cost. List price on Incase's site is $60. Amazon has it for $40.

The charger doesn't fit in the front pouches? I figured they did - that would be a bummer otherwise

I could not choose between the Grizzly and the Chocolat color :) (Got the Grizzly)
Ordered it on june 25th and got it delivered august 1st.
I'm from Belgium.

Tested it again (sorry only got the bag for a day) and indeed it does fit in the front pocket. But it's a very tight fit to get the front button on the CitySlicker closed when the rMBP is in it with the charger in the front pocket, but that's probably because it's a new bag. I'm sure it will loosen up.

Here some pics with the charger & rMBP in it open en closed.

Thanks! Still having troubles justifying a $150 (190 with shipping + strap/handle) sleeve - as much as I want to.

Here is my Tucano Second Skin Microfiber sleeve.

Overall, it's very nice. I actually do leave that microfiber on the keyboard sometimes to keep it clean.

I apologize for the blurry images. I think imageshack lowers the quality or something.

Where did you get this? the web site is sold out of the grey...(The only good looking color)

That charger has to be pressing hard into the rMBP no? its looks very tight, too tight...
