Just got my sleeve today!!

I ordered my sleeve for MacBook Pro retina from Water Field Designs, it arrived today. The sleeve fits perfect and the quality is better than it looks on the website. I had a concern with my order early on, and received the absolute best and fastest customer service I have ever received from an online company. Their products arent priced cheap, but in this case you do truly get what you pay for. I highly recommend you check em out, if you are gonna give $3000 for a notebook then $130 ain't too much for a high quality case to go with it. Only thing is don't leave it layin around in public cause someone would steal it even if it was empty...

That charger has to be pressing hard into the rMBP no? its looks very tight, too tight...

The CitySlicker is padded on the inside so the charger does not really press against the rMBP but more agains the padding of the CitySlicker.
Hope that makes sence :)

But as i said, it is a very tight fit to get the CitySlicker closed with the charger in the front pocket, but i do expect this to loosen up as the bag gets used.

Which one did you get for $130?

Gotta love saving dough

For thrifty Retina MBP owners :)
I found this at a Marshalls for $18. It didn't say it was for the Retina but to me it fits perfect. I wouldn't want it to fit tight because it would be hard to remove. On Incase's website they list what appears to be the same item for both the Retina and non-Retina MBP. The item # is different but the pictures look exactly the same. The one I got is really nice. Some features I like about it:
-The fabric on the inside is super soft.
-There is a little cover over the zipper on one side that covers the zipper as you slide the laptop in so that it doesn't scratch it.
-Pockets: one large one on one side and two smaller ones on the opposite
-Detachable shoulder strap. The latches are metal and super durable. I'm used to seeing plastic here. The shoulder strap has a nice pad on it too.
-Two briefcase handles that can fold into a pocket if not used.
-Cost. List price on Incase's site is $60. Amazon has it for $40.

THANK YOU for this info. Saw your post while at work and went to Marshall's afterwards. Picked up the same bag (in black). Can't beat 18 bucks. I actually had the 13" version for a MacBook Air that I've sold to a friend, so this works out great as I knew exactly what kind of bag it was.

I wonder, has anyone seen or tried out/seen one of these great looking aluminum-framed leather cases?

http://www.concretecases.com/en/shop/products/macbook/mac-hook-case/mac-hook-case.php?size=4&color=1

They're beautiful and I love the idea of having a sturdy metal frame for protection...but I'm not too sure about the padding...(hard to tell from pics). The company says it's designed for the cMBP but will fit the rMBP...

Just received my Mac Hook Case today, the padding is really soft and great and my rMBP fits along with a lot of other stuff. I manage to put my adapater, iphone, notepad, pens, wallet, sunglasses and I still have room left. Delivery took a while since it was in production, but definately worth the wait!

Whats your sense of protection level on it? It doesn't seem like it provides much padding on the sides, while providing excessive edge protection

Edit: I realize you said soft for padding, but for clarification, I was hoping you could shine some light as to how dense/thick the padding is - such that it can cushion an accidental knock on the side (like if the case/sleeve knocks into a door knob or something)

Thanks for the pictures, I was looking for a good snug fit case and that seems to be it...just ordered for $45.50

If anyone wants a direct link it's: http://www.booqbags.com/us/sleeves/mamba-sleeve

and the promo code KMG10 will give you 10% off your purchase.

The Booq Mamba 15".

I don't think it needs many photo's... I've tried to show how snug it is by taking a close up of a partially open zip.

It also has a faux fur inner. The zip itself is plastic, but the zipper is metal, but if you look at the picture, it'll never touch the actual MBPr, although on the corners it gets a bit close, so I just pull the zip away to make to it doesn't make contact.

...that one says MSL13-BLK in the model number (in the Product Details) though, which is for the air, and the dimensions reflect that too.

Looks like mix and matched information on that product page, so I'm not sure if that's actually it.

UPDATE: It is the 13" sleeve, not the 15" sleeve....I sent the seller on amazon a message and they responded REALLY quickly.

Just received my Cityslicker case from Waterfield Designs. I must say, I'm really impressed by the quality and fit of this product. I kind of had high expectations considering the price, but it surprised me. A lot have been disappointed of how much the Cityslicker will hold when it comes to accessories such as external HDD, Superdrive etc. It surprised me once again. Charger, External HDD, iPhone, cables, Superdrive and a couple of pens are what I could in the case/bag.

I'm not so amazed by by Suede Jacket, though. Yes, the fit is indeed quite perfect, but it's just a small piece of fabric and definitely not worth the $33.

Customs only charged me like $50 (and that's very cheap here in Denamrk) because Waterfield wrote on the invoice that package contained an item worth $100. My order was over $200, so that was really nice of them.

Overall a good experience buying at sfbags.com

Hmmm, don't think it is the wisest idea to advertise this, lol. Especially if you like them...

Be careful how you load that case. People have reported that pressure on the rMBP lid presses the display against the keys, and that pressure is supposedly enough to leave marks on the display (it's unclear if these are physical marks, or pressure-induced display distortion).

Hi, thanks for sharing that product video!

I was wondering...do you think the laptop compartment would fit a rMBP with a Booq Mamba 15 sleeve on? From the pic, it looks like it may be too tight a fit if using a sleeve. Any thoughts?

Also, how does the boa squeeze work for you? Could it fit a laptop (in sleeve) + a few textbooks, cords and accessories? Any issues with accessing pockets for frequent use items such as keys or pens/pencils or whatever?

Sorry for so many questions, but you look like the one to ask! ;)

Many thanks in advance,
han
