The CitySlicker screams man-purse. Not exactly the vibe most straight men want to give off in public.

Funnily enough I've noticed over the years that guys with man bags don't have any trouble attracting girls. It's lonely straight guys they seem to put off the most.

:)

P.S. No I don't have one.

I went with the Incase Neoprene Slim Sleeve and the Compact Backpack.

The Slim Sleeve is a bit loose but it's much better than I expected, it'll do for now. The Compact Backpack is bigger than I expected, even after I put most of my stuff in there, I still had room to spare. They both look and feel great and now I'll finnaly be able to take my new rMBP with me.

Wanted to tell you guys about a company that makes awesome 100% wool sleeves for Apple products... Nedrelow.

Ordered a sleeve for my Retina MacBook Pro and just got it today. It's really awesome. High quality and fits it like a glove. For those looking for a minimal case with minimal bulk, this is the case for you. Comes in charcoal or light gray.

My partner is the one that introduced me to these, he has one for his MacBook Air.

This looks great. Exactly what I need for traveling to prevent scratches from scanning at air-ports.

I have a question. Is the case flexible? Is the inside soft. I am afraid the hard-case scratch on the soft and sensitive aluminum.

Do you have a link to this case you are referring to? There are so many in EBay!

Also, what do you guys think of products like the Moshi Palmguard for the trackpad... Are people really protecting the trackpad, is it necessary?

Mamba sleeve is outstanding
The MacBook Pro retina actually fits inside it perfectly and good quality.

Thanks for the heads up... will likely purchase this.

Surprised that there aren't many other manufacturers making a decent sleeve for the rmbp.. I bought an Incase Sleeve which they advertise as fitting the RMBP but there too much excess space in it, and it does not feel well protected inside. My older Incase sleeve for my previous MBP fit very snug and kept it in perfect condition (I know because I dropped it several times).

You mean there aren't any good quality cases or sleeves that YOU happen to like. There are good quality cases and sleeves that people have talked about here, and I've even bought one (that I happen to like).

UK
Just quick note to UK people. I went to the Apple retail store and was 'THAT' annoying costumer and took some cases of the display and actually put the display retina in them to check the size. The best fitting one i could find was the Incase slim neoprene case. Even then i have to leave the foam display thingy inside to fill it out which isn't ideal.
Is it me or are dedicated retina cases really really thin on the ground in the UK.

Also can anyone recommend me a decent backpack to carry my new Mac in.

Other than crap from eBay and Amazon which has little appeal and in each case (in this thread) the buyer has said "mostly great except for these features" there are no leave-in sleeves yet by the major manufacturers.

ColcaSac

I ordered two ColcaSac's. One Zagora, and one Unitah. I have had them for roughly a week. Overall, I am greatly disappointed. The first time I inserted my rMBP into the sleeve, it left several white streaks on my :apple:baby:apple:. After further investigation, there are two seems inside the sleeve that are very rough and cannot be in anyway good for your computer. I am thankful, however, that the company has a friendly return policy, because as of tomorrow, I will be getting a full refund. Im not telling you not to buy a ColcaSac, just to be cautious. :D
