Alex is really an idiot. He can't figure out that he needs to ship when done vs. stock pilng? He had over 20 ready and just sitting before I gave him an earful over the practice.

He cant disclose his browns are not brown at all?

He is terrible at communicating with customers!

I am one of the few who were disappointed with what he sent. And I waited over a month just to be disappointed.

You can find nicer cases.

What didn't you like about the product? Was considering going with this case over the Joli original.

Hi!

I'm looking for a backpack with very thick laptop compartment for RMBP because I don't want to carry a sleeve around.

I have some Swiss backpack now, and the compartment is so thin I actually damaged my previous laptop. All backpacks I found in Best Buy are like that - unusable unless you have a sleeve.

From videos, I found two backpacks that looked okay: Everki 18" and Everki 16" (the airport one.) I'm thinking 18" is too big for RMBP, 16" should be fine.

Also Samsonite Vizair looks pretty good.

I'm also considering sewing a sleeve inside the compartment. (Grandma will help :)) Anybody ever done that?

Can I get some advice here, please?

I feel really out of place amongst all of you buying these expensive bags and cases, I got myself a Belkin casual backpack from amazon for £29 and a slip case from eBay for £7.

Don't feel left out. We are here to discuss cases that we use for our product. I browse through this thread daily in hopes of finding a perfect case before I buy mine next month. If there's a case that one finds is considerably cheaper than the rest but performs well, then you should bring it up. It helps us all.

Thanks for the kind words. I'll see about posting up my impressions on them when they arrive, the Belkin bag looks great so I hope that turns out alright, sadly though my case was delayed a bit :(

Would you mind posting the links to where you bought your aforementioned bits of kit at? I too would like to try and avoid spending $150+ on this sort of stuff if I reasonably can.

I find that people find it very easy to justify a $200-300 bag to themselves when they just spent $2000+ on a laptop. $100+ sleeves and bags are made for a very niche market - basically those who wish to showcase that they have a sense of fashion, or an abundance of money.

You will find that expensive cases will not protect your machine any better than a high quality sub $100 ($50-75 range) sleeve/case.

Personally, I went with a Waterfield Outback.

Well Incase bags are about ~$100 but that's not a niche brand or is that an exception because of brand recognition?

Incase prices are heavily inflated. If you look, they very very very very frequently sell vouchers at 50% value (aka, $35 for a $75 voucher). To me, this implies that their cases are worth 50% at best of what they claim to be MSRP.

North Face Surge? Comes with a dedicated laptop compartment that is raised higher than the other compartments so when you drop/put the bag down, the laptop will not sustain damage.

Acme Made - The Clutch

I find the Clutch of Acme Made fascinating, it really looks elegant and a perfect fit for my needs. However, they don't seem to be producing any 15" of it.

I've mailed the support team to ask about the availability and they replied saying that there is demand required for it to be taken into consideration. Any people who are interested, could you please mail acmemadecs@daymen.us.com and ask for it. Together we can make it happen faster :)

This is the product page: http://www.acmemade.com/product/The-Clutch,50,11.htm

Cheers

Anyone have experience with the Neoprene Slim Sleeve from Incase? I was thinking of buying the normal Neoprene Sleeve for my rMBP, but I don't think it would be tight enough to fit the rMBP snug.

I would rather have the Slim Sleeve because it would fit the thin design of the rMBP.

Hey, what did they say to you? We're you able to purchase it through their site?

They told me that shipping to Canada is expensive and they gave me a list of suppliers in Canada. Unfortunately some of them don't look trust worthy and other don't have the correct product.

I received my sfbags waterfield city slickers bag last week and i must say the build on it is fantastic. I ordered the black one and the leather is great and the stitching is very good. I have received many compliments on it already. It looks very professional and it is very slim. I only carry my mbpr, a magazine and a moleskine. Everything fits great. I have a waterfield cable guy that i use to carry my buffalo thunderbolt external harddrive and power adapter. I just leave them in my car in case i need them or know my mbpr battery is going to die. Overall i am very satisfied with this case.

I am using the Thule sleeve for the rMBP that Apple sells for $50 on their website. So far so good. Feels very protective and secure and much better than the incase sleeve I bought before.
