Just got the Waterfield Outback sleeve. It smells HEAVILY of chemicals. Is this common?

Probably. I bought a waxed canvas bag from another company (NOT Waterfield), and the waxed canvas smelled pretty strongly.

Nice pics. How durable do you feel the backpack will be?

I haven't noticed any immediate weak spots yet, it's mostly nylon so that looks durable, I just don't know how the fake fur will hold up. All the stitching is also done very nicely, unlike my previous backpack, which had loose threads hanging everywhere. Overall it feels very durable for a regular backpack.

I don't recommend putting bottles of liquid in the same space as a computer!

Don't worry, I usually close my bottles before putting them in my backpack.

Hi guys remember me from a few pages back being cheap, well here's the bag that I bought.

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Belkin-15-6...ZM/ref=sr_1_34?ie=UTF8&qid=1345147440&sr=8-34

I received it yesterday and it's really nice, loads of pockets and a nice section for the laptop itself, sorta fabricy like that Incase bag a few posts prior to this one. My MacBook has yet to arrive so I haven't tested it's fit or anything but I did throw it on my back with a few books and so far I'm quite pleased with my purchase.

I'm waiting on my Retina Macbook Pro to ship :D

I was thinking about getting a colcasac sleeve and just putting it into my L.L. Bean bag. I don't know if this would afford it enough protection (bouncing around in the bag or something)

I was also looking at the Incase bags as well. I liked the look of the campus bag in the dune color, but it is sold out. I also was thinking about getting the Terra Campus bag in Cream/Fiery Red.

Preferably I'd have enough room in my bag to carry the Macbook Pro Retina, the charger, my iPad, and a DS/3DS/Vita or PS3/360 controller.

I went with the Incase Neoprene Slim Sleeve and the Compact Backpack.

The Slim Sleeve is a bit loose but it's much better than I expected, it'll do for now. The Compact Backpack is bigger than I expected, even after I put most of my stuff in there, I still had room to spare. They both look and feel great and now I'll finnaly be able to take my new rMBP with me.

It looks like there is a lot of extra room in the Macbook Pro's storage area. I'm guessing it is built to hold the old Macbook Pro. Are you worried at all that the Macbook Pro Retina isn't sitting snugly in the backpack?

Saddleback Leather

My new Saddleback Leather large briefcase and medium MacBook sleeve both in chestnut. The retina Macbook Pro fits great in the sleeve and the sleeve in the briefcase. http://www.saddlebackleather.com/Classic-Briefcase?sc=8&category=83

I recommend the Thule Gauntlet 15" and/or the Incase Deluxe Sleeve 15" for the Retina. They both fit exceptionally well.

Nice. Awesome briefcase, but expensive as h*ll. Worth every penny, though, if you can afford one. :p

Picaso Lab Pictures!

Hey everyone, finally got a chance to take some pictures. I actually burn 6 out of 10 fingers last night moving a burning truck rim off the highway (long story). Anyway, sorry if they aren't fantastic, I did what I could with 6 bandaged fingers lol

They're taken with my GNex.. it's no iphone camera thats for sure.

So as to save everyone from enormous pictures, I put up an album on imgur:

Picaso Lab Matte Black w/ Red

I personally love it. There are zero blemishes, it's super smooth, the stitching is great and I love that it's not 'machine-perfect'. The laser engraving of my name looks 100x better than it did on his site. The inside leather is very, very nice and soft and the top rim is sealed very nicely with resin. I love that it's heavy and thick. It feels expensive (and is for some). I wasn't ever too worried but having the case now it my hands I almost feel silly for second guessing it.

Easily the nicest accessory I've purchased.

You can't lead with that then abruptly end with (long story).......cause now, this is a story I want to hear! :D

Wish you a speedy recovery!

So CultofMac had a special promo going with InCase. Buy a $25 promo code, that gets yous $50 off your order (save $25, basically).

Figured, what the heck, and ordered a Terra sleeve. Got the blue denim. I've seen it in stores, but didn't want to spend that much. $25 seems a lot more reasonable. I probably wont use it daily, but it'll be nice to have when traveling.

Sorry, its not super easy to type lol. Basically a truck lost a wheel, not just the tire but the whole rim ripped right off. Bounced from one side of the highway to the other rolling into and stopping in the lane beside me infront of another huge truck. So I stopped, put my hazards on, jumped out and (very, very unintelligently) gripped the rim from the outside and inside. Finger tips got it real good and a pretty decent rip on my hand as well. I realized it was hot but didnt notice the damage. So I pushed it from the outside to the edge of the road. Got back in the car and realized what I'd done.

Got helped pretty quickly at the hospital though and they said it's just superficial, which is great news.

Hope that just about covers it!

Yikes! Glad it is just a flesh wound and nothing more serious. You never know.....your immediate actions may have prevented a major accident that may have claimed lives.

I was looking at Incase's bags, and they seem not only more expensive than they should be, but also less protective that they could be.

Has anyone here had an Acme bag? I've looked around for reviews, and couldn't really find much. I am looking at the Acme Union Pack or the larger Union Square Pack for my rMBP.

Also, what's Tucano's reputation? Are they good to go?

I went to the Picaso Labs link posted at the beginning of this thread to order the black leather with red stitching sleeve, but it told me the posting had been removed!

Is there another link? or am I too late :(

Awesome, thank you!

For anyone with the Picaso Lab sleeve, is the sleeve small enough that it will fit in a 15" laptop bag or backpack? The edges look like they might make it too big.

But it is a great looking sleeve.
