Nice to think of the body as scratch-resistant, but it is far from it. Alumin(i)um is a soft metal. I have a unibody MBP at work, and although it's in very good condition, I have still managed to get some scratch marks on it.Why would anyone want to put a case on their MBP that stays on while they use it???? The worst enemy of performance is heat. anything on your expensive MBP keeps heat in. The unibody of the mac is made from an awesome scratch resistance metal. I don't get it. Are you dropping your MBP while you are using it? I don't get it.
I use my MacBook for gigging and doing karaoke with a lot of drunk people around. Although I'd like a normal soft case/sleeve for every day use, if I'm going to take a new rMBP to a gig, I'd like it to be well protected even when open, and by using a plastic shell there are less on-lookers wanting to take a look at my new baby. I just hope Speck release their new case before my next gig.
