How about your speck??? How is the fitment?? Price?? Any other colors??

Hard to say if it fits tightly or loosely, it is subjective I think. Personally I feel the fit is not too tight or too loose on mine, but the bottom piece definitely feels a tiny bit looser compared to the top piece. Price wise I can only quote the Australian price of $59.95. There were only two colours available on the shelves that day I was there - blue  and red .

Planning on ordering a hard shell for my 13-inch (Oct 2013 model). Has anyone tried Speck or Moshi? Which brand would you prefer that fits better?

I couldn't decide, so I got all 3 of these. What sucks is they all came in the mail yesterday, but my new MBP won't be here until Monday so I can't give a full review yet. I have had the first one (though obviously smaller) for my iPad4 since it came out and it's been a great sleeve. The one with the strap will only be used when I travel, which is a week per month. I'm concerned the bottom one is going to scratch the aluminum on the zipper when I slide it in and out so if I were to guess that will likely be the one I *don't* use out of this group. Small and minimalist, these are for my 13" model if it's not already obvious:

Moshi or Speck hard shell for rMBP 13-inch (Late 2013)?

Looking to purchase a hard shell case for my MacBook. Which brand would you recommend/fit better on the newly released MacBook Pro w/Retina display 13-inch? Tried ordering the brand Kuzy from Amazon, but the bottom shell was already cracked on arrival.

I have the Moshi and like I mentioned earlier, it fits a little loose. The plastic fasteners "unclick" a little too easy. The case doesn't move around at all and it will still do its job.. But for $60 I wanted a tighter fit! The Moshi for the MacBook Air fits so well you can barely tell it's there. Other than the tightness issue... The materials are PERFECT... It's basically completely transparent and although it is not totally soft touch, it has a nice smooth feel to it... Does not feel cheap at all! Premium materials used!!

Just ordered the Speck hard shell and I should get it tnomorrow. I'll post my impressions of that when I get it... One thing to consider... On amazon, the Speck is $23 cheaper ($37) than the Moshi iGlaze ($60).

Hello... I took the plunge on the moshi iglaze based on the response that you got... ordered it from amazon last night and got it this morning... i know they said that last year's model would fit the new rMBP 13... but i am happy to say that moshi did make some alterations to the iglaze.. and the one amazon is shipping right now is the newest iglaze designed for the newest rMBP. The reason I know this is because the new iglaze has 2 holes for the rMBP dual microphone holes.. this is a new feature on the latest rMBP so Moshi has indeed updated its cases!!!

Sadly, the one I ordered dit not have these holes. As I live in belgium I had to order via an online retailer, Moshi does not ship worldwide. So I probably got an older version case. Will send it back after the weekend and request a newer model. Hope it doesn't take too long.

Checked Amazon uk too, but not sure if it's the newer version...

edit: @orlandocano, do you have a product number of the Moshi case?

Could you post your impressions once you have it? I am interested in this sleeve as well.

It is quite thin and yet somehow feels durable and protective but it is HUGE (it is wider my 17" Retina and about as long). I will be ordering another sleeve (maybe the cheap-o CaseCrown on amazon) to make some comparisons.

I'm satisfied with the build and the quality but the form factor leaves much to be wanted.

Anybody had any experience with this?

It's a 'Brenthaven 15" Collins Sleeve Plus' (http://store.apple.com/uk/product/HA677VC/A/brenthaven-15-collins-sleeve-plus?fnode=50).

Debating on whether to get it for my new rMBP, looks like it has a few compartments that could store some of the other stuff I take with me to university.

I just ordered one with the handle. I should have it by monday.

The late-2013 is thinner, you'll need to wait for compatible shells to be made for it. After having a Speck previously for my MBA, all I can say is never again.

Do you mean the two tiny holes next to the ear phone plug is the dual microphone holes, which is a new design of the latest MBP? If so, then my Speck Smartshell hard case I bought from Apple store 2 days ago must be new design too. It too has two cutouts for these two microphone holes. :)

Edit: Added a few pics. Not sure what type of blue is this, glossy aqua blue?

Placed an order on the Moshi for the 13-inch (late 2013). Hope it fits well, ordered through Apple.com so it's easier to return in store just incase it won't fit well.

Hey guys, i just purchased my 1st mac, rmbp 15 inch. I wanted to ask if it is very susceptible to scratches?
Will a sleeve be good to protect it when not in use, or will I have to buy a case only for protection?

I ordered and installed a black Moshi iGlaze case for my Haswell 15" and it fit just fine even with a full-body install of Bestskinsever. I had read that dirt and debris can eventually get inside a hardshell case and end up scratching the aluminum. That is why I put the Bestskinsever on first, to protect from possible scratches while the hardshell protects from accidental hits.

After installing the Bestskinsever with the matte finish, I was hesitant to put the hardshell case on at all because I had to really look to see the skins on the outsides, palm rests, and trackpad. I looks like there is nothing on them at all. I put the hardshell case on anyway without any issues for the extra protection and peace of mind.

Also added a an Uppercase keyboard protector. The rMBP opens and closes with no issues and there are no smudges or oil from fingerprints on the screen from closing the lid.

Haha, guess glossy aqua blue is not for you.

i got the black satin case for my 2011 macbook air. i was always worried about that some dust gets in and stays, or that the hard-case damages my mba :D :confused::p

in fact, i used it one time, for one day, and then i never used it again.

furthermore... it totally destroys the look and feel of a macbook

I just looked at one of these in the store as they looked perfect for what I want. Sadly I was left very disappointed as the finish inside seemed pretty firm and I'm not certainly it wouldn't harm the case of the MacBook. The case doesn't have a closure system, it snaps shut so I'd worry this would get looser and looser the more times I use it.

I did buy a Brenthaven Collins sleeve - nice quality but far too big - was about an inch either side of the rMBP so I returned that... shame since my name is Collins :)

So I'm giving up on Incase coming out with a dedicated sleeve for the rMBP and looking at Rickshaw. My question is if they're worth the higher price tag (with a 10% off code) and how they work in other bags, particularly backpacks. Thanks!

I see. It's not the colour but the fact hard case is not for you. Point taken.

No insult, but their product looks like a toddlers underwear.

Actually, come to think of it, it would be insulting and embarrassing to have that covering my MBP. Clicking on that url links to their color scheme with blue fabric and red out linings. Seriously? Great first impression.
