Anyone able to tell me the name of the company that makes sleeves with this logo?

I ordered and installed a black Moshi iGlaze case for my Haswell 15" and it fit just fine even with a full-body install of Bestskinsever. I had read that dirt and debris can eventually get inside a hardshell case and end up scratching the aluminum. That is why I put the Bestskinsever on first, to protect from possible scratches while the hardshell protects from accidental hits.

After installing the Bestskinsever with the matte finish, I was hesitant to put the hardshell case on at all because I had to really look to see the skins on the outsides, palm rests, and trackpad. I looks like there is nothing on them at all. I put the hardshell case on anyway without any issues for the extra protection and peace of mind.

Also added a an Uppercase keyboard protector. The rMBP opens and closes with no issues and there are no smudges or oil from fingerprints on the screen from closing the lid.

This is exactly what I plan to do. Mind posting some pictures to include the matte finish skin and moshi case?

No insult, but their product looks like a toddlers underwear.

Actually, come to think of it, it would be insulting and embarrassing to have that covering my MBP. Clicking on that url links to their color scheme with blue fabric and red out linings. Seriously? Great first impression.

Yeah I'm not a huge fan of the flap either, but I can't wait for Incase and the other big boys. These are also custom, so you pick your own colors. I chose gray and turquoise to go with my backpack.

These are pretty popular in this thread, so watch what you say ;)

A few photos of the Bestskinsever full-body install with matte finish and the Moshi iGlaze case. Installed the palm rests and trackpad skins in the first photo. I removed the bottom shell to expose the skin on the side leading up to the earphone jack in the second. Couldn't bring myself to remove the top shell. My Moshi case did fit over these skins without any issues. These photos really don't do the results justice.

Thanks for sharing. I thought you had the clear/white Moshi case.

How are the clips holding up and is the fitment OK? I have read negative reviews stating that the corners crack easily.

Also, is it true the clips are designed better that they are less prone to scratch the surface of the laptop?

Tough decision over getting the translucent vs the black case. The micro-clips seem to be fine and none have broken or scratched the aluminum body. This is my first Moshi case, so I couldn't tell you if the clips are better than the previous versions. Just been toting it around the house, but the corners are not cracked. As before, the fitment is perfect... even with the skin. Maybe I just got lucky? Then again, I am pretty careful with it.

I just ordered a sleeve from Rickshaw Bags: http://www.rickshawbags.com/laptop-ipad-sleeves/macbook-air-sleeves.html#sleeve-for-macbook-air-13.

I actually ordered the 13" Macbook Air sleeve for my new 13" rMBP (someone in the comments said it fit just fine) since I like the design better than the sleeve they make for the rMBP.

Use code: RADDADBAGS for 10% off!
I went with the horizontal sleeve and will definitely report back on the fit. It should arrive tomorrow but my rMBP won't arrive until Wednesday. I chose the horizontal over the vertical because I had the vertical for my 2010 MBA and I found it annoying to have to remove it from the side (but I'm super OCD about this kind of stuff.) :)

FYI - Rickshaw Bags is a great company and they've been very flexible in the past with exchanges. I received a custom-made messenger bag from them last year and they let me exchange it for a larger version, no questions asked. If you go with the vertical and it doesn't fit, I'm sure they would exchange it for you. (But I think it will fit.) :)

What do you guys think of your Rickshaw sleeves (if you've received it). I just ordered this which is apparently for the rMBP. I did comment that it was for a new 13" Retina, so hopefully they see that. I also used the 10%, so thanks for that!

Folks,

Is there a consensus pick for a solid, reliable "cheapie" sleeve for a rMBP? Something from a generic-looking eBay store but that actually fits well, protects adequately and don't scratch the laptops it's meant to be protecting?

(I had a "ZeroShock" sleeve for my 17" and it was great, but they don't seem to be doing Mac stuff anymore.)

Been looking through this thread, but can't find what I am looking for.

I have a 15" rMBP, and I want to find a sleeve/case that will open vertically (much like this one http://i.i.cbsi.com/cnwk.1d/i/tim/2...op-suede-vertical-flatlaptopin-lg_540x360.jpg ), without a premium price point (under $50).
Any clues?

I'd like to recommend the oft-mentioned Crumpler The Fug Sleeve for the rMBP. I bought the black version for my late 2013 Haswell Macbook Pro 15", and love the perfectly snug fit and scratch protection it offers at a sub-$30 price point. It's certainly not meant for anything heavy-duty, but for my needs it was perfect!

EDIT: The link goes to the purple sleeve (black ran out; only 1 purple in stock!) but the black one can be found at other places, albeit at a slightly higher price.

Looks like your top shell is installed wrong. Aren't the cut outs supposed to be aligned wtih the ports?

I'm looking for a bag/sleeve for my new 15" rMBP. I don't really want a case because it's too beautiful to cover with plastic, but a nice protective bag or sleeve would be nice.

Heard good things about Incase, but what is the difference between the 'Neoprene' and the 'City' (apple store exclusive) case? Has anyone tried both and would recommend one, or even another, better case of similar type?

Links:

Neoprene: http://store.apple.com/uk/product/HA174ZM/A/incase-15-neoprene-pro-sleeve-for-macbook-pro?fnode=50

City: http://store.apple.com/uk/product/HC690ZM/A/incase-city-sleeve-for-macbook-pro-15?fnode=50

Thank you!

Thanks, ratbrat. The Fug looks like it might do the trick... as much as I never imagined wanting to put yoga pants on a laptop... ;)

So the standard 15" size fits properly on the retina MBP? No looseness to speak of?

Looks like the City is made of canvas while the Neoprene is neoprene. Also some different color options.

Be aware though that it will be a loose fit as Incase has not redesigned for the rMBP.

I use this case from Booq. Its pretty cool because the case swallows the rMBP and shuts the opening on its own. Its hard but still minimal and provides great protection.

Are looking at the exact same sleeve. How is it? Does it feel Secure when turning it upside Down? It's the 13 you have right? How does it fit the 13 rmbp?
Are the edges hard aswell as the sides? Do you believe that the sleeve would protect the rmbp is you dropped it? Where did you get it? How much did you pay?
Thanks In advance!

Speck Case... Is this Normal

hey guess, just brought the speck satin case, ive just noticed the two corners of the screen do not shut properly! I then discovered that it was because the top shell was so tight it was bowing the screen slightly, it was ridiculously hard to get of. In fact I almost thought I wouldnt be able to! Its left a few slight marks on my laptop which only arrived 2 days ago! pissed!

Anyways should I swap it for another one or is this just how they are?

Personally I'd complain to Speck and get a refund and possibly get them to cover a replacement top and bottom case for the rMBP if Apple won't cover it under warranty.

Not looking good there. I was just holding a Speck Smart Shell at the Apple Store yesterday. Might just go towards the matte Bestskinsever route.

Maybe you were installing it the wrong way?

Yup! It's not like the opening has an extra elastic band or anything, so it won't tightly hug in that end. However, the rest of the fit is just about perfectly fitted to the 15" rMBP. For example, I can't shake the sleeve loose at all from holding the macbook.

Here's how it looks:
