Is there any progress on Radeon HD 6xxx cards?

I have a mid-2011 27" iMac with a 2GB Radeon HD 6970m which runs even the latest Civilization great but it doesn't support Metal and I absolutely don't want to upgrade as this machine still works perfectly today.

I've seen that, ironically, older Radeon HD cards work and have full hardware acceleration, but that's not the case with the newer ones.

Is there any hope that Radeon HD 6xxx cards will have full hardware acceleration in the future?

Updated my MP3,1 with APFS and NVMe patched boot rom and GTX 680 GPU. It stalled at 1 minute before beta 5 completion (as in the beta 4 update) so I restarted from the beta 4 USB patcher and ran the post install patch. It rebooted straight up after that into beta 5 and I ran the patch updater in Utilities just to be sure and restarted.
No big problems so far.

Yes it was the beta5 ... BUT it looked like a HS 10.13.x full installation,
the install macOS Mojave Beta.app was in program (in Beta4 Mojave) and I then clicked on install.
It was restarted after about 6 minutes and then came the new option in Clover "Install from Beta ...".
I clicked on install. Installation also went through to the next reboot, then there was nothing to see from Mojave.
Sure, my good beta4 (hfs +) has now been upgraded to beta5 with APFS (which I definitely do not want).

How can I, if I update my existing image of the beta4 with hfs + back to the normal beta on the beta5, as it was before, from beta3 to beta4?

I forgot to write that I performed these procedures on a Hackintosh MSI Z97 G43
with Intel processor i5-4570 and internal Intel HD 4600 graphics.

I hope you can help me. I tried everything on my MacPro 3,1. It installs and apply post-install script but it never boots. It shows the apple logo, and bar keeps moving and then freezes for hours.

1. How we apply NVMe patch? is it part of the post install script?
2. I have a 500 GB SSD, I formatted it as OSX Extended. Shall I go for AFPS?
3. Could this be related to my graphic cards? I have two cards Quattro FX 5600 and GT 630. (Both worked perfectly on High Sierra)?
4. Do I need to check the Legacy Video card patch? GT 630 is metal capable!

Any one can help me?

To sum up, I formatted the drive as OSX extended, then installed the macOS Mojave from the Patcher USB drive, rebooted and applied post install script.

Just done a clean install of developer beta 5 with the updated patcher. Left all the patches checked on default. It's running much smoother than it was

Is there anything extra I need to install to get the developer beta updates?

When I try to update to beta 5 I get: The Update Could Not Be Verified error. This happened last time around too. The next day it just seemed to resolve itself.

Yeah, you just need to download and run the macOS Developer Beta Access Utility. Then, you'll get beta updates.

amazingly iPhoto still works :)
[doublepost=1532981562][/doublepost]my download was only 3.08 gb to others are bigger plus maybe not everything got installed but not sure since it did get stuck at 2 mins of the install are you on public or developers seed

I 'transitioned' my MBA from public beta to developer's preview by installing the "macOSDeveloperBetaUtility" app. Checked "Software Update" and the latest DP5 showed up as available. So I went ahead and do an update. It's been stuck for almost 30 minutes or so on 'Installing Software Update". I know you experienced the same delay. What is the safe next step to do? Interrupt and reboot or what?

Thank you.

Edit: I finally got it going.

Yes I finally got the update running, but it is stuck at about 1 minute and has been there at least half-an-hour.

good day ya all!

Short question:

try to Play this game on mojave beta3/4 on a MBP Mid 2009
https://catmic.itch.io/return-of-the-tentacle

it starts, i see the prologue, till the guy eats a sausage, then the Picture disapears, only subtitles i can see.
(Don´t know if this is a bug/failure or normal)
After it is finished i get a Screen, asking me to Play a tutorial. then again blank Screen, only mouse arrow to see, and Music is playing.

tried it also in dark mode.
same results.

Is it because MOJAVE BETA or is the Game Buggy as hell?
or MBP Mid 2009 to old?

Maybe you will test.

ist an fanmade game so everything will be o.k.

Thank you.

What do you use for the date and time on the desktop?
Live wallpaper by squid melon in the App Store I use the metro theme some themes won't let you change the wallpaper

is it a 32 bit game as it may not be optimized for macOS Mojave as they are transitioning to 64 bit apps you might check the authors website to see if a update will be available

Even if here officially do not treat your machine topic, I guess the only way is formatting the APFS container in HFS+, then reinstall from scratch.

I guess your issue is one of the two GPUs.
The Legacy Video patch I don't think is suited for your two GPUs.
The GT630 even if Metal capable it is not understandable if is made with Fermi or Kepler cores:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GeForce_600_series#GeForce_600_.286xx.29_series

The other instead seems to have an "official" MacOS driver for example this: http://www.nvidia.com/download/driverResults.aspx/136062/en-us
To install the driver for FX 5600 you should boot in safe mode (holding SHIFT (⇧) key at boot before and after the apple logo for about 5 seconds)

Anyway try to take out one at once your GPUs, maybe with one only inserted you could pass the Apple progress bar.

do you don the post install patches, or some games require flash player or shockwave player by adobe or could be the Apple is depreciating OpenGL in support for metal

it was a bug from the game itself.
wit Version 1.0.3 of the game it will be fixed. i will try later when i´m back home.

i have installed Version 1.0.2 yesterday, but it was updated yesterday to 1.0.3....

you can also read it in the link.

If I upgrade to macOS Mojave, will Homebrew still work or will I have to reinstall that and are there any applications that people are having trouble with?
