He just rebuilt prelinkedkernel from a full install. I've been building mine from the BaseSystem, which apparently has these issues.
This thread is important.
I think we should mention in the original post only people who really contributed to the resolution of the problems related to the installation of Mojave on unsupported Macs. When those people are solicited by others for help, they can possibly really help and not mislead others and waste their time.

I believe that the skills needed, related to patch, tests and scripts, exceed those of the majority of us on this thread. There must be at most between eigth to ten who really know technically what they are talking about!

If you start adding credits to the person who responds the most, who does the most like, etc... it becomes counterproductive.
Thank you.

Agreed. To be clear though, I did not add that to the original post. Based on the edit history, it seems that he actually added himself to that section.

Hello everyone, I wanted to thank all the comunity for all that it does !!
I want to tells you about my experience
Macbook Pro 15 "Early 2011, from January 2018 with the AMD gpu broken ...
from that day I used it following the AppleMacFinder guide, repeating it with every reboot
last week I tried the update with clean installation to macOS Mojave with the method of dosdude1 but unfortunately did not work and my notebook has not restarted ...
in recent days I tried the steps indicated in the procedure of MikeyN Guide # 875, well now I have a Macbook Pro 2011 "15 i7 2.0 / 16Gb Ram / 120Gb SSD snappy and fast and is also updated to the last macOS version

Thank you very much, you are legendary and for those who have like me an MBP 2011 with GPU dead now know that you can make it reborn !!

I hope my experience can help someone! see you soon and greetings from Italy

I did. I'm sorry if I did so underservivingly. I added myself because I had an issue, I solved it, I want others to be able to solve it as well. About this issue, I thought rebuilding the cache from the BaseSystem was impossible? I'm don't know much about this. All I know is, I have an issue on my machine and my fix works for me.

I agree with your take on things. The discoveries and fixes made which have been documented in the OP's first post prior to the recent edit are considered showstoppers and a detailed analysis of and solution to the problems were given to address them. I couldn't find one for the wifi/apfs encryption problem.

I also don't think helping others is a precursor to joining the contributor list otherwise it would have at least 20 contributors on there. Also, the quality of posts matter over volume - the latter adds noise.

I am not discounting anyone's work or help but we need to be fair to others.

Recognition is awarded not forced or self-proclaimed.

The purpose of my recent additions are to help others discover notable work that may interest or help them. As you can see, I have separated the two sections to avoid confusion. If someone has a problem with this then they are more than welcome to change it. I am not dictating anyone's decisions. I'm simply trying to improve the OP.

First off all, I hope people in this wonderful thread will accept my frankness.

Wanting to see his name appear next to the real contributors can flatter the ego but it is certainly not a good thing.

One must remains humble. This is very bad because it can create mediocrity in the thread and can discourage the real skilled persons in their efforts. Admittedly, it is possible that they do not even seek to be acclaimed for their brilliance, but as you say we must be honest to others.
0403979 is a simple tester like the majority of us and certainly not a contributor in the technical sense of the term.

Merci.

I came up with the solution to a problem and I want to share that solution. That's all.

Finally!! just only graphics glitches on the menus using the light mode and iSight camera not work, everything is better than HS...

thanks for @dosdude1 & everyone's help!

I have removed my fix from the OP. It baffles me how much controversy can be stirred up by a single line of text.

You didn't follow the entire guide... You need to boot off the USB installer drive again, and run the post-install patch.

right, i figured when i walked away and it upgraded and shut off, that was probably a bad thing. (went to go wash my car)

Any idea on how to boot off the USB driver when any form of the button combos wont work?

I am not surprised that you are baffled by it because you still don't get it. It's not controversy.. more like etiquette and and as @Loyd-01a rightly said, remaining humble.

Anyway, I hope you understand it someday and appreciate the value of the feedback you are receiving from this community.

Thank you for contributing your time and effort with helping others.

I was trying to help others, not promote myself. I'm sorry if it looked that way. All I want is for my machine and the machines of others to be able to run Mojave without issues. I understand that adding more text to the OP increases the amount of reading required to understand how to use the patcher and that small issues like this don't require credit in the OP. I wanted to share my fix until @dosdude1 added it to the patcher because I've seen a few other people having this issue.

It's not against you. But, this kind of behavior can depreciate the hard work of others ...

Without the worthy efforts of @dosdude1 & al, perhaps, thousands of people, me first, were not going to have the chance to see Mojave and the precedent systems running on their machines declared obsolete by Apple.

Thank you.

Just use a USB keyboard, bluetooth one on power-on plays tricks, if you use a pc keyboard just hold "alt" key after the power-on until you see the startup manager.
