I can’t seem to get the patched 10.14.1 installer to boot. Any idea why? @dosdude1

I updated to 10.14.1 through system preferences and now my MacBook Pro 5,1 gets stuck during the boot process. The progress bar under the apple logo progresses quite quickly for the first 70% or so, becomes very slow after that, and ultimately gets completely stuck at 100%.

I thought that a fresh install of 10.4.1. might solve the issue. Downloaded the new installer through the App Store, used the patcher to create a new install drive. All went fine so far. However, when booting from my usb-drive, I encounter the very same issue: stuck at 100% of the progress bar.

14.1 full installation image boot with dosDudes 1.2.2 patcher on a Mac Pro 3.1 - this machine has a working 14.0 installation.

Should have been merged with my screenshot.

I concur that the although dosdude1 1.2.2 Mojave patcher does seem to build a USB installer from the full 14.1.0 Mojave download (using Patcher Tools menu), the resulting full USB installer CANNOT boot the MacPro 3,1 with boot-rom APFS and NVME patch support. The progress bar gets about 7/8ths of way to completion and stalls. It seems like the 1.2.2 Mojave Patcher needs some love from dosdude1.

It wasn't in the software catalog when I looked at it earlier today. Somebody can confirm this though?
[doublepost=1540917121][/doublepost]Also! Off-topic, but I just went to an Apple Store and copied the new attract loop screensaver for Mojave. If anybody wants it, I posted it on reddit here. I like to collect them. They're pretty :)
Pretty cool thanks! Definitely put a smile on face...

I’m having same issue updating my 2011 Mac mini. Stuck at 70% after reboot.

I haven’t installed it myself. I just know the ota update shows up. Install at your own risk.
No problem I test it and it didnt work. This method just download the installer and it doesnt allow to install giving this error when I try to install;

Exactly the same here with iMac 10,1

Hello, I've just tried to run the DosDude1 patcher to install 10.14.1 but after downloading the image and verifying it, when Itry to copy it to my USB drive by clicking "Start Operation", I get the following error message...

Screenshot 2018-10-30 at 21.50.44.png

I've done this process before with two beta versions as well as the full 10.14 release, so I don't know what is different this time. I also went to system preferences to see if I could initiate an update from there but I got a message telling me that I was already running the latest version of Mojave.

Any ideas, anyone?

Thanks!

Dosdude did say that os updates would need to be on an apfs formated drive.

Easy fix.

Have an external drive formated apfs and restore your hfs+ to an apfs drive. I think carbon copy cloner can do it.

Then run the update.

Then u need to carbon copy cloner the updated drive back to your internal main hd, which is still formated hfs+

Yes it is a pain in the butt, but apple wants people to only us apfs and not hfs+ Going forward.

I thought that but I already download installer thanks to you ;) I will create a new installer USB and install directly over my system without format. Then I will use CCC and format my main system disk to APFS.

I see that in an earlier thread, DosDude said "Looks like the tool will need an update to work with 10.14.1. I'll get the update out in the next couple hours or so.". I think he said this maybe half an hour ago, so as amazing as he undoubtedly is, I guess I'll leave it till tomorrow to try again!

@dosdude1 said that his patcher will need an update to create a patched USB version of 10.14.1 and that it will be up in a few hours.

What kind of ISP do you have where they threaten to suspend you for 3 years for downloading 30 GB?

My old legacy Hackintosh got stuck on first boot, FakeSMC failed, I could not get to `DSMOS has arrived`, and some lines behind it, something like that `apfs err code - 2`. APFS has changed? If I reinstall the OS in HFS+ and install the combo update, do you thing it will work out?

Hybrid and Flat patch works with 10.14.1?
No. I will provide compatible versions sometime this week.
