Pre-Penryn C2D processor is the problem there. The white MacBook from 2009 (5,2) works.I was wondering,
Why are 2008 white MacBook not supported ? Because of the GPU?

"192.161.2" is not a valid IP address...hello!
First thanks to @dosdude1 and his team for make this patcher!
Yestarday i update my macbook pro 8.1 from 10.14.1 to 10.14.2 and so far all is working pretty well except access to mamp from my tablet or cell phone.
Until 10.14.1 (inclusive) i was able to access my localhost from http://192.161.2:8888, now i just cant, my mobiles always trow an error saying the connection timed out.
Did something change from 14.1 to 14.2 wich could make this happen?
I really need to access my localhost for testing.
Thanks!
Pluda
@dosdude1 , Hello, I’m sorry, 192.168.1.64:8888 this is the correct ip, it just doesn’t work anymore."192.161.2" is not a valid IP address...

Upgraded to Mojave finally on my 4,1 17" MBP from HighSierra.
Thanks a lot to all the people here making it possible.
I'm impressed how smooth it went.
I just had to remind to install the legacy WiFi patch from the usb installer manually as I already exchanged the WiFi card from an 2009(?) iMac.
After that I got my WiFi back.
cd /path/to/bkltpatch10.14.2
./install.sh
So, I've been working on a backlight control patch for the CCFL-based display systems, and I think I've found a working solution... Can I get some testers before I release this via Patch Updater? Need to make sure this is 100% stable.
This is for any machines that have a display that uses a CCFL backlight, which includes:
To install, just download and extract the attached ZIP, then run the following in Terminal:
- MacBook5,2
- iMac7,1
- iMac8,1
- iMac9,1
- MacBookPro4,1 (17" model only)
Code:cd /path/to/bkltpatch10.14.2 ./install.sh
Once complete, reboot the system. If it works, you should now have backlight brightness control!
WARNING: There is a chance this may cause a kernel panic. If so, all files removed/edited/replaced are backed up to ~/Bklt_Backup, and can be restored in singleuser mode.
All MacBookPro4,1 17" models are CCFL, even the glossy models. Can't test it as my 4,1 17" MBP has the glossy option with led backlight.

Are you sure? Last time I checked there were options for both backlight types for a screen replacement. Also I think it's way too bright to be CCFL based and I never had problems with backlight not being adjustable. All MacBookPro4,1 17" models are CCFL, even the glossy models.
Glad you had a great result upgrading your 4,1 MBP to Mojave too!
I lost WiFi since I had one of the unsupported WiFi cards, but have a supported card coming from eBay any day now.
What WiFi card did you use to get your WiFi working?
17" Early 2008 MBP 4,1
6GB RAM
512GB Samsung 840 Pro SSD
Mojave 10.14.2
Brightness Slider
Successfully updated to the latest Mojave beta ~ 10.14.3 Beta 2 (18D32a)
Same process as before on my Mojave unsupported MBP5,3.

Thanks @dosdude1 for your patcher app.
Do you have a bluetooth keyboard and mouse? Have you tried a usb device?
But the two 2008 white Macbook have Penryn based CPU (T8100,T8300) ?Pre-Penryn C2D processor is the problem there. The white MacBook from 2009 (5,2) works.

i have not rebooted yet (scared to). Rebooted. no problems. perhaps i should have used 'sudo'? i was asked for my password though.
I have a similar configuration to you except for a BT mouse and SSD for Mojave. My Mac Pro 3.1 does not have the sleep issue. It wakes up with either the BT mouse or apple usb keyboard. However, Mojave does not always seem to play nice with the Mac Pro's usb; 14.0 seemed fine but not 14.1 or 14.2 in my case. There have been several comments about this on the thread. In my case, the usb keyboard did not work during the start up so I was unable to get the boot screen etc. Once Mojave was up and running everything was ok. I had connected the keyboard via my apple LED cinema display and the usb hub did not see to be powered up during the start. Connecting the keyboard direct to the Mac Pro solved the problem. So if you are using a usb hub try connecting the keyboard directly to the Mac.I have the original Apple USB Keyboard with connected the Mighty Mouse (USB).
First and second reboot worked fine. But run into some issues when starting up from a power off.
Got these messages (verbose boot mode) when started.
Process[140] crashed: opendirectoryd. Too many corpses being created.
... got these until Process[207] ... and then I just forced the mac to shutdown.
Anyone who updated encountered this same issue? @dosdude1, any suggestion please?
I restored to beta 1 as I further investigate.
Thanks for any suggestions or feedback.

It may also be worth looking at your Energy Saver in preferences. If "Put Hard disks to sleep when possible" is ticked then untick it to see if that helps.
Runs like a charm on my MBP 4,1 (17") 2008, had no issues, no panics. No other tools needed any more for brightness changes. Do you now have backlight control without the aid of a third party utility?
