I have a similar configuration to you except for a BT mouse and SSD for Mojave. My Mac Pro 3.1 does not have the sleep issue. It wakes up with either the BT mouse or apple usb keyboard. However, Mojave does not always seem to play nice with the Mac Pro's usb; 14.0 seemed fine but not 14.1 or 14.2 in my case. There have been several comments about this on the thread. In my case, the usb keyboard did not work during the start up so I was unable to get the boot screen etc. Once Mojave was up and running everything was ok. I had connected the keyboard via my apple LED cinema display and the usb hub did not see to be powered up during the start. Connecting the keyboard direct to the Mac Pro solved the problem. So if you are using a usb hub try connecting the keyboard directly to the Mac.
It may also be worth looking at your Energy Saver in preferences. If "Put Hard disks to sleep when possible" is ticked then untick it to see if that helps.

When I have run into this recently, it was solved by going to the Patch Updater and forcing the reinstallation of all of the patches (which I assume cover the legacy usb patches under another name now). In my case, the manifestation of the problem, on a MacPro 3,1 with Cinema Display usb hub handling the wired keyboard and mouse, was losing access to those input devices after ejecting usb storage devices.

"192.161.2" is not a valid IP address...
Hello, I found that if I turn off firewall I can acess to my localhost on my mobiles, all over the same wifi lan.
Question is what rule should I add to firewall options to have it on and allowing acess to localhost?

[QUOTE = "Pinarek, Beitrag: 26908830, Mitglied: 362304"] works fine in new (last) 10.14.3 Beta1.. all Apps with transparence !! (only Menuebar not)[/ QUOTE]

after updating to Beta2 Mojave 10.14.3 it is no longer possible with the 2 files HiToolbox and CoreUI. Is there new gepatchte files for it? Thank you

Hello guys...... Someone with experience with Xserve 3,1?
I did it but I have few strange behaviour I wish to share:
1) I'm not sure sw updates has been correctly patched: how can I be sure?
2) via Remote Desktop, in LAN connection, it is SO SLOW to respond.
Any tips?
Grazie and have a Happy Christmas

Hi everyone, i am from Germany an i Updated my MacBook Pro 5,3 from 2009 with the patcher to sierre, high Sierra and Mojave. I didn t had and problems with the wifi. Last week my MacBook did a restart by itself and After that it showed me that there is no wifi Card installed.

Try to disable Wifi, then clear all entries in the "known Wifi networks" section. Enable Wifi again and scan for networks. Once you found yours, enter pwd again. Should work, had this effect from time to time on my machines as well...

Many thanks for your reply. There is definitely something flaky with mp3.1, usb and Mojave. My problem only manifested with 14.1 and a direction connection to the Mac seems to work for me. See what happens with 14.3.

So, I've been working on a backlight control patch for the CCFL-based display systems, and I think I've found a working solution... Can I get some testers before I release this via Patch Updater? Need to make sure this is 100% stable.

This is for any machines that have a display that uses a CCFL backlight, which includes:
  • MacBook5,2
  • iMac7,1
  • iMac8,1
  • iMac9,1
  • MacBookPro4,1 (17" model only)
To install, just download and extract the attached ZIP, then run the following in Terminal:

Code:
cd /path/to/bkltpatch10.14.2
./install.sh

Once complete, reboot the system. If it works, you should now have backlight brightness control!

WARNING: There is a chance this may cause a kernel panic. If so, all files removed/edited/replaced are backed up to ~/Bklt_Backup, and can be restored in singleuser mode.

Your backlight control patch worked PERFECTLY on my 17" CCFL-based display in my Early 2008 MBP 4,1 running Mojave 10.14.2 !!! My backlight buttons work properly again... and reboots now preserve the previous backlight setting.

I rebooted connected to AC power and again on battery power to confirm it was working correctly.

THANKS SO MUCH FOR ALL YOUR AMAZING HARD WORK !!! Everybody here REALLY appreciates it !!!

@dosdude1; as i am using an MBP4,1 2008 late 17-inch, i thought i would try out the patch. here is the output i got.

i am not sure this is the output i should get.

i have not rebooted yet (scared to :)). Rebooted. no problems. perhaps i should have used 'sudo'? i was asked for my password though.

That's looks like the output I got on my 17" Early 2008 MBP 4,1 running the backlight patch. After reboot everything seems fine but with the backlight buttons working again.

So, I've been working on a backlight control patch for the CCFL-based display systems, and I think I've found a working solution... Can I get some testers before I release this via Patch Updater? Need to make sure this is 100% stable.

cd /path/to/bkltpatch10.14.2
./install.sh

Once complete, reboot the system. If it works, you should now have backlight brightness control!

Backlight in my MacBook 5,2 worked OOB, can´t help there

Hello, I found that if I turn off firewall I can acess to my localhost on my mobiles, all over the same wifi lan.
Question is what rule should I add to firewall options to have it on and allowing acess to localhost?
Dude, the localhost address is 127.0.0.1
In your case IPs from the group of networks 192.168.0.0, masked 255.255.x.x are reserved for local networking and are not routable on the Internet.
There is a big difference between local networking and localhost.
The IP you show has either been assigned to your computer by your router, or you manually set it in "Network" prefs. In a default state, it can be any other IP within the 253 IP range of your particular local network setup. From restart to restart your router's DHCP might assign a different IP, unless you have set a reserved DHCP IP for a particular MAC address of a network interface.
On the other hand the localhost with IP 127.0.0.1 is always the same on all computers, it is used to check the operation of the network stack and not for local networking.
Now if you want your router to point a specific port, or a group of ports to your mac in particular, than you have to set first either a reserved DHCP IP for that mac's MAC address (Wifi, or ethernet interface) in the router, or simply set a fixed IP in "Network" prefs. Then put a forwarding rule in your router pointing the desired port(s) to that IP.
So in the case of @Pluda we have IP 192.168.1.64 and port 8888.
Go to "Network" prefs. and set a fixed ip of the mac (I guess for the Airport interface) to 192.168.1.64, mask 255.255.255.0, gateway 192.168.1.1. Than go to the router and set a forwarding rule in which all outside, or local connections to port 8888, should be forwarded to IP 192.168.1.64 on port 8888.

I have an iMac 7.1. I applied the patch. When i reboot, when the progress bar go to 70%, the computer reboots. And the computer reboot and reboot again.

I go to single user to solve this. In the Blkt_Backup folder I enter the following command (To start to revert the patch)

cp -R DisplayServices.framework /System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/

But I have a lot of errors saying that this is a read-only file system.

I think that i have to reinstall the system. Damn

Anybody knows how to revert this changes without make a reinstall?

You need to mount the volume as R/W first, by entering:
Code:
/sbin/mount -uw /
Then you'll be able to make changes. To restore the files, you'll need to do the following:
Code:
cd /Users/username/Bklt_Backup
cp -R DisplayServices.framework /System/Library/PrivateFrameworks
cp -R AppleBacklight.kext /System/Library/Extensions
cp -R AppleBacklightExpert.kext /System/Library/Extensions
cp -R AGDCBacklightControl.kext /System/Library/Extensions/AppleGraphicsControl.kext/Contents/PlugIns
reboot
Once you get back into the system, send me the panic logs, which are located in /Library/Logs.

Mmmm...

First of all... i have to change the first line to this

cd /Volumes/"hard disk"/Users/username/Bklt_Backup

Then... when i put cp -R DisplayServices.framework /System/Library/PrivateFrameworks I got a message saying:

cannot overwrite directory /System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/DisplayServices.framework/Resources with non-directory DisplayServices.framework/Resources

And the same with the folder "current".

I tried to change the command to cp -R DisplayServices.framework /Volumes/"hard disk"/System/Library/PrivateFrameworks but it doesn't work too.

So I deleted all folder Volumes/"hard disk"/System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/DisplayServices.framework

then i execute cp -R DisplayServices.framework /Volumes/"hard disk"/System/Library/PrivateFrameworks and it runs. I make the same in the three first commands.

But i don't have the file AGDCBacklightControl.kext in the Bklt_Backup. And I can't find it in your patch. When i reboot i still see the reboot loop.

I'm still trying.

Here are the logs that you need. When I can access to internet in this computer, i will send the files of the logs to you. Meanwhile I only can send you photos of the logs.

Hello, thanks for reply.
Yes, my 192.168.1.64 was generated by the router, it is fixed, since in router settings i chose to have fixed ip.
As I said previously, I,m using Mamp to simulate a web environment in my machine and my localhost is reached by my ip:8888, so until mojave 10.14.1 I simply write on browser adress http://192.168.1.64:8888 and was able to test my websites from iphone, ipad, windows computers etc, always in the same wifi connection, of course. Until I updgrade to 10.14.2, I never had to mess with router settings or network preferences or other things. It just worked with the ip:8888.

That is why I’m asking if something could have changed with the latest update, since all the previous router settings, my ip, everithing is the same. The only change was upgrade from mojave 14.1 to mojave 14.2.

Tomorrow i’m going to try your sugestion and let you know!

Thanks!

It seems your installation of Mamp has been borked. Most likely you will have to reinstall. It is not a firewall that is messing things. 14.2 has overwritten some config files. The router settings are needed for when you want to access that mac (your webpage) from outside the local network (from the internet). Here it most likely won't give you the desired solution since you are already accessing that test page from within the local network.

My mac is now normal again, if it’s not 100%, it is for sure at 98 or 99% working as expected.

Thank you for heelp and @dosdude1 for make his possible.

I have made some search and it appear to be a 64bits efi too. I really wonder why the 2008 model isn't compatible...
but it support 32bit kernel only, 32bit kernel was removed from EI Capitan

also the display driver is another issue, as no 64bit driver from those white macbook, this can be use 10.6 DP4 one, but still have some issue (lack of working Graphics Acceleration)

You´re on the wrong track.
32/64 bit EFI is solved long ago by Piker Alpha, helping i.e. Mac Pro 1,1 and 2,1 boxes to get up to El Cap. 32bit Kernel was already removed way before that, from 10.7.2 to later 10.7.x versions and since then on.
It´s the missing SSE4 instructions in the older pre-Penryn CPU of those models that prevents Mojave. You can still run up to El Cap on those machines. See www.osxhackers.net for that.

In other words:
You can install Mojave on all Penryn and later CPUs (having SSE4.1 instructions).
If you want graphics acceleration, minimum currently is Nvidia 8600M GT / 9600M.

The MB 4,1 does not have either.
The MB 5,x (from 2009, still in non-unibody white plastic) can run Mojave.
