I am not quite sure you truly understand what "side effect" really means. It is the price you have to pay for using APFS ROM PATCH. You can't get rid of the EFI Boot.
When I select a respective EFI Boot, it boots perfectly into Mojave or High Sierra, therefore it is fully functional in my case.

Thanks for clarifying it.

So the APFS Rom patch brings up the 2nd EFi Boot.

I did not noticed it, most of the time I work on Mac Pros 4.1 and 5.1.

My Mojave partition I use is on this MP3.1 HFSplus formatted.

So I have seen the 1st EFI Boot ever after fiddling with Catalina in APFS on MP3.1 with bootscreen capable GPU plus accidently checked the APFS option in Mojave post install.

So, while I've been able to get my MB4,1 to boot Mojave, I can go little further than that. The issue appears to be the wifi driver -- it will sometimes try and fail to connect to my AP, and other times it will simply crash.

Here's a crash log -- any idea what's up with my airportd and what I need to do to get it to a) stop crashing and b) connect to my WPA2-encrypted WAP?

hello i have an imac mid 2007 with intel t9300 6gb of ram and 120gb ssd, i tried to reinstal mojave on it and din't work.
Per the first post in this thread, only iMacs from 2008 on (iMac 8,1) are supported. You've got an iMac 7,1, which is not in the list.

I have a Mac Mini Mid-2011 with the Radeon 6630M integrated graphics. Has there been any progress in the past year as far as getting Mojave (and maybe even Catalina) to run with accelerated graphics?

I have some experience with the Hackintosh community, and it just seems strange to me that Mac OS has been hacked to run on the weirdest PC hardware, yet can't run on genuine Apple hardware.

Hello aaroman, the imac7.1 is officialy suppported by dosdude1 patcher if cpu upgraded, wich i did, the computer work fine like that since 08/2018. He start to fail a few days ago.
Hope maybe you have an idea

So, while I've been able to get my MB4,1 to boot Mojave, I can go little further than that. The issue appears to be the wifi driver -- it will sometimes try and fail to connect to my AP, and other times it will simply crash.

Here's a crash log -- any idea what's up with my airportd and what I need to do to get it to a) stop crashing and b) connect to my WPA2-encrypted WAP?

iOS: We care about your older devices.

MacOS: Please throw away your MacBook (Late 2009), MacBook (Mid 2010), MacBook Pro (Mid 2010), MacBook Pro (Early 2011), MacBook Pro (Late 2011), iMac (Late 2009), iMac (Mid 2010), iMac (Mid 2011), Mac mini (Mid 2010), or Mac mini (Mid 2011).

What a great company...

I just installed Mojave using the Patch on my old 2008 Aluminum MacBook, Polycarbonate early 2009 A1181 MacBook & 2010 Unibody MacBook. They all run amazingly smooth and very well. I’m so shocked. My A1181 white MacBook runs as good as my latest MacBook Air. I’m so glad i never sold them or threw them away. No issues in performance. Im dumbfounded.

I'm sorry -- I meant to mention that in my OP. Yes, I'm running 2.3.2. My MB was throwing these errors since you originally helped me to get it working (TYVM again), so I'd put it aside until I saw you'd released 2.3.2. Thinking that might help with these problems, I decided to try again, but I'm still getting the KPs.

Read the release notes. You need to reinstall to fix the permission issues cause by the patch tool in 2.3 and 2.3.1

I did. This is a brand new clean install.
Random KPs on this device seem to be a known issue. As for the WiFi issue, I’m not sure why it’s crashing but I can’t really say that’s not to be expected. It’s probably something to do with the sheer age of the hardware and even the drivers are pretty old by now for some.

I’ve done a PRAM reset, anything else along those lines that might help?

Hi Guy's,

I am such a beginner in all of this so please excuse my ignorance. I thought I'd be smart and upgrade to ssd and 8 gig ram and now have watched and attempted the dosdude1 install clip about 10 times with no success. I have a mid 2010 mbp a new usb and can get it to boot off of the usb but when it restarts there isn't any post install utility or even the small selection box where it is on the vid clip?

I have read most of this thread and to be honest you guys are out of my league totally!! Any pointers would be great...

Cheers Adam

It’s too old. It doesn’t have graphics acceleration so you can’t change brightness and transparency doesn’t work.

Sorry... I have an irrelevant question...
I have an old printer that works well on MacOS high Sierra. I was wondering if it is possible to transfer its drivers to MacOS Mojave... any help is appreciated :)

Successfully installed 10.14.6 dev beta 5 hybrid patches working seems stable :)

@dosdude1 It appears, that I have found an anomaly regarding the officially High Sierra supported Macs APFS capabilities.
Even though the iMac10,1 is officially supported by High Sierra, it apparently did not get the APFS support treatment. In fact it does not appear ta have been gotten any EFI firmware updates ever.
I realised this, after converting it's drive to APFS, forcing me to apply your on-the-fly APFS boot loading patch, because your APFS firmware patcher does not provide iMac10,1 support. Would it be feasible to add support for those machines as well? For reference I PMed you a firmware dump.
