I just tried it myself on my MacPro5,1 with the exact same card, and it worked just fine with the Legacy WiFi Patch applied. Maybe try re-installing that patch using Patch Updater, and see if that helps.

If you have one of the newer Apple LTE 4.0/802.11 ac modules, they used to work out of the box in previous iterations of macOS, but after Sierra they began to need the use of the Continuity Activation Tool for full functionality. The odd thing is that if you update, say, from High Sierra with a working LTE 4.0/Wi-Fi to Mojave, Continuity will work flawlessly after the update, but if you were to install Mojave from scratch, you would require CAT once again. So, my prediction is that if you update your current Mojave machine to Catalina, Continuity should go on working, but you'll require CAT if you install Catalina from scratch.

That isn't the case here on my MacPro 3,1 with a iMac 14,1 BCM94360CD installed on a miniPCIe v3 adapter card. Both AirDrop and Handoff work without any additional changes. I would note that early on when I was testing with a BCM94360CS2, I had a volume which wouldn't register Handoff and Airdrop support until I did a clean install. You might try a clean install to see if that solves the problem without resorting to the Continuity Activation Tool.
[doublepost=1563228765][/doublepost]FYI, I can confirm that 1.0b10 does indeed suppress the APFS boot patch when that option is selected and can reinstall Catalina over a previous installation by forcing the cache rebuild over the stale cache contents. Nice.

The best approach is to just download the full installer for the current seed using the tool that dosdude1 pointed to.

https://forums.macrumors.com/thread...unsupported-macs.2183772/page-2#post-27417505

Keep in mind though that if you have the APFS ROM patch applied, using 1.0b9 will force the usage of the APFS patch until that issue gets addressed.
Again, I did use the patch & apple installer as dosdude1 pointed out. But my install came up as 19A487m instead of the 19a501i. Just wondering why that is. Have no idea what the 1.0b9 is or how to use it. Thought there may have been an update to the 10.15.

The newest version of the Cat patcher is b10 and you can download the latest version of cat with the tool did you recently download a copy of cat it should be in your download folder that is where it goes after downloading :)

The only copy I have is on a thumb drive now. I originally downloaded dosdude1 patch & then Catalina from the direct Apple link he pointed out. I had originally downloaded it to my Mac & made the bootable copy from that. But I no longer have that drive so I just have the thumb drive. This was done to a clean install SSD. Can I apply that patch to this existing Catalina or have to start over again.

So you're trying to use Catalina DP3 as your only available system drive on the machine? It is a tad early in the beta cycle for that.

If you have Cat installed you can apple the post install patches without starting over

This Catalina is on a separate SSD. I still have Mojave on another one, didn't want to mess that up. This Catalina is just to see what it is like & some things I like & don't like so far.

Thanks Timothy, can you tell me a simple way to do that. I'm good at screwing things up.

Timothy, that file that you keep uploading is a LaunchDaemon I posted a while back to mount the drive read/write at every boot. It's not a easily runnable in Terminal and it's not necessary if you just want to make a one-time modification. You have to install it to /Library/LaunchDaemons/ and reboot to activate it.

If you want to just do it for one session, use the following commands:
Code:
sudo mount -uw /
killall Finder # if you want to do it graphically

Just wanted to clear that up for any inexperienced users who don't know what to do with the plist file.

Hey @dosdude1 I was curious if the post install tool automatically installs the Legacy Video Card patch on Late 2009 Core i5/i7 iMacs? I recently replaced my problematic Radeon 4850 for a metal supported card (GTX 770m), so its not necessary for my system config. I know you mentioned it wasn't installed by default for 2010 and 2011 models.

It is installed on the 2009 model by default, as those come with Radeon HD 4xxx series cards stock. I'll be adding an option to disable it later, though, similar to how I did with the APFS patch.

Mine is Broadcom BCM43xx 1.0 (7.77.61.2 AirPortDriverBrcmNIC-1305.8)
(0x14E4, 0x111), but it is not the original. It´s an updated one

May I suggest similar options to enable other patches which aren't installed by default. For example the Legacy Wifi patch which is required on my iMac 8,1 and other models if the card has been replaced. Like @echophilon I had to reinstall the patch more than once before it worked.

Did that Timothy but still showing 19A487m instead of 19A501i
what Cat patcher version are you using they should be downloading the latest Cat dev beta when you download Cat is downloads to your download folder keep it there if you move it to your Application folder then upgrade then upgrade it erases it from the applications folder and when you download a copy the best way to check if it is current right click on the install macOS Catalina beta get info then it should say 15.0.17 but make sure you erase your usb to macOS extended journaled

Here's the latest fix for light mode in Catalina (except top menubar, ask @pkouame/@jackluke for it). You need @ASentienBot's patch to make this work.
Just replace this binary with the one in /S*/L*/PrivateFrameworks/SkyLight.framework/Versions/A/SkyLightOriginal
(Should work on every version of Catalina, regardless of the version: beta1, beta2, beta3, even later betas...)

The transparency (excluded top menu bar) just does not work in 10.15 Beta3.
Could you please tell me what else needs to be replaced besides the Skylight.framework
in Frameworks and Private Frameworks? Thanks for tips
