There's a couple of Weather Widget threads in the forums. The Weather Widget still works in OSX10.4.11 Tiger as it used Accuweather instead of Weather Channel/Yahoo. I have it running on every MacOS up to Sierra just fine, a little wiggy on Mojave - only shows five days of the six day forecast.

I guess I found it and converted in standalone app (for Catalina), the .wdgt is for Mojave (and earlier OSX), while the .app is for Catalina , to change the location and the temperature scale just press the bottom-right (I marked it blue with a "speech bubble" as example) of the accuweather widget, while press the upper-right area to resize the widget.

I ran out of ideas. Applied legacy wifi patch + force rebuilding cache many times now. The stock card (cMP 5.1, 2012) is working in Mojave (separate disk) but not in catalina with latest patch b11. The card is simply not in the system report. Any ideas? Thank you very much!

There always is the option of upgrading the card to a BCM94360CD. I've used this source for a MacPro 3,1...

https://www.ebay.com/itm/Broadcom-B...629645?hash=item3d88c5314d:g:26MAAOSw~HJct1kA

along with this adapter card...

https://www.ebay.com/itm/Mini-PCI-E...303760?hash=item362c781f10:g:t4QAAOSwofxUbzDF

Unfortunately, unlike the MacPro 3,1 where the motherboard BT can be disabled by just removing it, the MacPro 5,1 requires an usb power cable to be connected from the miniPCIe adapter card to the motherboard so you'd have to puzzle out the connector and pinouts to use. The V3 card does come with two usb cables. One of which has raw leads for a user supplied connector to be added onto. Maybe someone here with an osxwifi card would share the pinouts that are used on that cable (as I doubt osxwifi would just sell you the cable).

Thank you! I know it's possible, and I could get the genuine mac pro 5.1 card (ac wifi + bluetooth 4.2) for around £95 at E*ay, but what puzzles me is that the stock card was working when I installed cat over mojave but not on a blank drive. Everything else is working, even bluetooth. Dosdude1 confirmed that his cMP 5.1 stock card is working with the patch. So I think I got it wrong somehow.

I installed successfully beta 4 on my Mac Pro 3.1 with dosdude beta 11 tool.

The good news: With the latest patch, NightShift is now working properly with my two 34” LG widescreen monitors.

The bad news: Sidecar still not working. With what I read on the subject, it’s probably never going to work on a Mac Pro 3.1, due to the lack of material acceleration for HEVC codec.

I have hard time seeing that as a big issue. That particular feature really seems more like a geek trick that people will play with but rarely use daily in their work flow. At least for desktop Macs where the visual line of sight for the iPad is always going to be much lower than the normal display (unless you clip the iPad into some sort of elevated stand).

With Beta 11 of my Patcher, having boot-args set in NVRAM shouldn't be necessary. I have not fully tested the whole process without this yet (so it is still set by the patcher just as a precaution), but I think I've implemented enough boot.plist changes to make it work smoothly without relying on NVRAM.

Certainly the patched DP4 installed by 1.0b11 seems to run without issues once the boot-args nvram variable is deleted (at least on a MacPro 3,1 with GTX680).

I agree. It’s just that I like to push that old computer as far as I can ;)

was able to install it on my 15" 2010 but dang.. still experiencing the mouse cursor lag/becomes sticky/stutters (starting from Mojave 10.14.4/5) when hovering over links in safari (with the Intel HD arrandale graphics turned on)

With the nvidia 330M GT active, everything is fine. @dosdude1 @ASentientBot did something change in the Intel HD graphics kext since 10.14.3? (in .3 everything is smooth)

Weird question. Does anyone know how to get trackpad settings open on a Mac Pro or any Mac? For instance on my MacPro 3,1 running the latest Catalina Patcher made by @dosdude1 when I open up System Preferences and attempt to open the Trackpad Preference it keeps giving me an error that says, "The System Preference "Trackpad" could not be opened." Any ideas would be greatly appreciated thanks!

Just a general Q moving forward. I haqve a late 2009 macPro flashed to 5.1 Currently running Mojave 10.14.5 mostly successful, but - WiFi turns itself off periodically and only comes back with a reboot.
I have a wifi card inside the macPro, and have a ethernet cable to an Airport Express for the rest of the house.

Now, I did install a newer WiFi card internally with the small cables back in July 2016, when I was working on hardware upgrades for High Sierra (?), and since Mojave, it's had occasional problems turning off - so I though maybe upgrading to a later card that works for Catalina (before I do the actual upgrade) would make a lot of sense.
Any suggestions for a better/newer internal WiFi card? Any comments?

Good catch. This seems to be a regression from patched Mojave which produces the display about searching with Bluetooth for a trackpad. I don't see any obvious differences other than patched Catalina doesn't load IOBluetoothUSBDFU whereas patched Mojave does. Regressing back to the Mojave copy of that kext plugin doesn't allow it to be loaded so it is unclear how that is related to the Trackpad bug other than both are failing.

Not sure if this is related to your issue but back in High Sierra 10.13.6 days the Night Shift patch used to break some System Preference panes. I was able to fix the issue on my MacBook5,1 by patching Night Shift manually(by pikeralpha guide). It absolutely did not make any sense to me as Night Shift patch is based on pikeralpha's solution but somehow it worked.

Thanks, I‘ll see what I can do I‘d like to be able to configure my Trackpad on Catalina but still can’t do so because preferences for it just won‘t load. It’s honestly an odd bug since everything else related to Bluetooth connectivity is working great. I love being able to unlock my Mac with my watch.

Tentatively, I'd say not. I ended up reinstalling patched DP4 and while I reinstalled the Night Shift patch, but prior to rebooting, I see the TrackPad system preference panel is broken. Also, the TrackPad is working in patched Mojave with the Night Shift patch installed. As for the IOBluetoothUSBDFU kext not loading under patched Catalina, the best I can puzzle out from googling is that kext is used for providing firmware updates to bluetooth devices.

Hmm that’s quite interesting, I wonder what is causing the system preference for Trackpad to not work. Thanks for elaborating, I didn’t think that the Night Shift Patch had anything to do with that. It’s certainly a weird bug, but very annoying if you want to use an external trackpad.

Maybe the next step would be to try using the Mojave Trackpad system preference panel under Catalina to see if something internal to it is the problem.

You need to download the widgets folder twice one goes in your library folder then install amnesty open the app then click on show in finder once it sows the widgets folder drop the widgets from the second downloaded into the amnesty widget folder then open each one and you will have to authorize each in security then close amnesty then reboot then open amnesty you see them listed in then menubar
You can get the original widget working instead of using the Accuweather version:

Should have said this earlier. Tiger or Leopard Weather Widget and parser file works up to Sierra. Don't know about High Sierra as I skipped that but L Caputo explains using the Tiger/Leopard Accuweather parser file with the original Mojave Weather Channel/Yahoo widget.

Problems here also. Works like a charm in Mojave in my Mac Pro 3.1. And worked like a charm in Catalina Beta 3, with patcher 1.0b8. With Catalaina Beta 4 and 1.0b11 patcher simply can´t connect to wifi. Finds the avalaible wifi nets and then looses, looping every few seconds.

So I went ahead and swapped the Trackpad.prefPane file from my macOS Mojave install on an older MacBook5,2 that I've been working on. And I've actually have had some success with fixing the Trackpad Preference Pane! After replacing the file I managed to get Trackpad settings to finally open on not only my MacBook5,2 but also my MacPro3,1 I'll have to do some further testing but so far all clear! You can see that there is quiet a difference in size between the previous Trackpad.prefPane and the Catalina one. Thanks @TimothyR734 for directing me in the right direction. I can upload the Mojave Trackpad.prefPane file if anyone would like to test this out themselves. Let me know if it works for you!
