When I boot from the Patcher SD card and click install a new copy OS Mac it starts to install and on the top of the second page it shows the old version. Should I not be installing from the SD? And install direct from the install OS? But when I right clicked on the file and get info in Applications it does show new version. And yes right click does show proper version.
If you with the macOS Catalina Patcher you can either install it directly or create a bootable usb to install Catalina from I don't know if it works using a sd card

Just ignore it and continue installing. In the end you should have the right version installed.

OK got the patcher to work on my MacBook Pro 7,1 but having problems with my Mac Mini 3,1 keeps saying can't nstall OS on this drive. I erased the drive and trying again now. Never had these problems before with any previous Beta.

Great to hear someone successfully installed on MBP 4,1. And I guess Photos are not working as well or are they.
Were you on APFS before or made complete new install and reformatting?

I can also confirm that you can ignore that... I noticed it too when I installed beta 7 but it ended up installing the correct version.

macOS Patcher 3.0 beta 7 has now been released. This is the description from the macOS Patcher releases page:

"This is the seventh beta of macOS Patcher 3.0, the first version of macOS Patcher to support macOS 10.15 Catalina.

Release notes for macOS Patcher beta 7:
  • Add 10.15 beta 7 system and installer support

Important notes:
This is a beta release of macOS Patcher with support for a beta release of macOS. If you discover an issue, please make sure it’s an issue with macOS Patcher 3.0 and not with macOS 10.15 Catalina. If your issue is with the macOS Patcher 3.0, then contact us on Discord or MacRumors Forums, or create an issue on the macOS Patcher GitHub page.

You have to run macOS Patcher with the -legacy-prelinkedkernel flag when creating a patched installer for the MacBook4,1.

You can read about the removal of the integrated utilities, and the future of macOS Patcher here."

macOS Patcher 3.0 beta 7 is available here.
[doublepost=1567266327][/doublepost]BlueSky 1.1.2 has now been released. This is the description from the BlueSky releases page:

"Release notes for BlueSky 1.1.2:
  • Add support for macOS 10.15 Catalina beta 7
The download size for the zip is around 100MB. If you download only the script then BlueSky will automatically download the full zip file that includes all the patched binaries. If you downloaded an older release, you have to download a newer one to get the changes. The script file has NOT been changed in this release."

BlueSky 1.1.2 is available here.

Apologies again for the late releases.

OK I have it all up and running but have a strange configuration in my Disk Utility. I have a partition that is not used and needs to be removed. It is called Macintosh HD, please look at the screen shots. And provide detailed info on how to remove the Macintosh HD without ruining the installation. Thanks.

Yes, that is correct. With the SSD mounted on the PCIe card, the installer does not see the SSD. After moving the SSD to a SATA slot, it does see the SSD and can make the install. Then, moving the SSD back to the PCIe card enables booting. This started from about Cat beta 4

Just to be clear, you're saying that the installer simply doesn't show the Sonnet card SSD as an available target drive, right?

One thing you might check is what 'sudo diskutil info disk#' shows for the problem SSD physical and container devices under the Terminal application when booted from the patched Catalina usb installer. You might get some more insight into the issue by comparing how the displayed info differs for when the SSD is on SATA vs Sonnet PCIe card. If the info looks pretty much identical, then it would suggest that the issue is intrinsic to the installer rather than the base system used by the installer.

Also, before you switch the SSD back from SATA to PCIe card, I would repeat that when booted under the patched Mojave usb installer to see if the output looks different between Mojave and Catalina.

I disabled AFP boot and patch installation for my Mac Pro 5,1 with updated WiFI/BLE using DosDude's 1.09 patcher. It still patches the IO802.11Family.kext. Has anybody else seen that?
I can restore it from another system before turning on SIP, but it's a pain.

Has anyone posted / found a fix for apps opening at random scale on MacBook Pro 8,1? It starting happening shortly after beta 2 was introduced & has since persisted. I can live with the workaround of minimizing the window & bringing it up in order to resize but I was wondering if we had anything more concrete.

Thanks for any input in advance!

Yes, same here. I have to install in an USB port, then move to an pci express, or external SATA and works right.

Hey, I would love some answers to some quick questions that I think others will also benefit from knowing the "quick and simple" answers to!

Does Catalina require specific HD formatting (e.g. APFS) and does this affect installation?

If you have a Mac Pro, is it okay to install the OS with the EFI compatible card (e.g. GT-120) and then swap it to a non-efi card? (e.g. RX-580)

Are updates for this beta easily installed?

Are there any specific CPU incompatibilities on the Mac Pro models?

Are non-EFI but Metal Capabale NVidia cards accellerated (e.g. 1060ti)

Any problems booting from NVME drives?

When using the Patcher, do you need to do something special when macOS updates come out? Or can you just install them via Systemupdater?

Also is there a good how to for using the patcher with a Mac Pro 5.1?
Thanks!
I prefer to make a new install USB drive. Saves problems.
