Has anyone been brave enough to try the Continuity Activation Tool on Catalina? My setup is so finicky I'm sure my Mac would launch itself into orbit if I tried it out.

Edit: Doesn't work. Don't attempt.

LegacyUSBInjector adds support for USB on unsupported Macs. It is needed under all circumstances, and is NOT "interfering" with the kexts you're using. There is a patched AppleHDA included, but without it, you'll get no audio. It also is NOT "interfering" with those Hackintosh kexts (not sure why you're installing these anyways).
[doublepost=1568706334][/doublepost]Can I install without any patches and just use the boot flag -no_compat_check,
Does the patcher have that option

I think the USB install that, even without the patches option.
[doublepost=1568711107][/doublepost]I must say DP8 runs extremely nice in my Mac Pro 5,1 Some odd things, nothing serious, that I suppose will be polished in the final release.

For instance, The wifi appears as not connected, even in the icon ans in the System Preferences, with no IP assigned. But runs nice. Even faster than in Mojave.

Yes it does. Before you make a USB installer go to the options in the menu bar. Make sure you tick the option to disable APFS booster AND untick the auto patching. After installation the cMP5.1 will just boot up into Catalina with no need to patch. I would suggest you go for a clean install and migrate settings etc from your vanilla Mojave. Alternatively install over a clone of your Mojave. If you install over a present patched beta you will end up with some patcher files remaining. Not sure of your configuration but if you have a Wifi/BT upgrade then all will be ok. If using the old wifi then this will be lost.

Yes, a clean install and in the last stage it will ask if you want to import from a previous system.

Ok then!!10.15.b8,on MBR 5,5 with dosdudes1 latest patcher works like a charm!!!
Maps are crashing on zooming but after the 3rd reopening is ok! Photos are crashing when i open "places"!
using julians Hitboxtool fixes menubar in light mode but skylight doesn't work on b8!Machine don't boot!!
spotlight, finder sidebar are greyish!! they worked on B7!! what did i miss and what to use to fix this?
Further mbp 5,5 runs smoothly Temps are normal and the monitor glitch when shut down is gone!!

Can I do that from the latest Catalina patcher ?

I guess the sidebars are "greyish" because @ASentientBot has updated his Skylight patches (and probably other fixes will be needed till October release) to fix "Dock/window collisions" and used the 10.14.6 one, hence some offset have changed, I've attempted to binary hex patch the latest SkylightOriginal following the method from @testheit .

Can't test directly since I am still on Catalina beta 5 unsupported mac, but just replace it again with this attached and it should work.

replace here: /System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/Skylight.framework/Versions/A/

Yes. But to confirm set no compat check first.
successs, I've done a vanilla install with no patches applied
booted to the desktop no problems. no WIFI as yet but hey ho
and now have HDMI sound and my PCI M.2 is now seen as internal.
sound and usb all working as normal, looks like some machines don't need patching
and using hackintosh kexts works. it works both ways
UPDATE now with WIFI
-No_Compat_Check auto added by the patcher

I don't use the terminal for replacing the SkyLight and HIToolbox from BlueSky I replace the HIToolbox in /System/Library/Frameworks/Carbon.framework/Frameworks/HIToolbox.framework/Versions/A folder then replace the SkyLightOriginal in /System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/SkyLight.framework/Versions/A folder then reboot and I am using the same version as you have

The HIToolbox file worked fine and I have a normal menubar and contextual menus. However, it seems the skylight patch does not work as my finder side bar and App Store sidebar are still dark. Any suggestions?

The LegacyUSBInjector.kext provides support for the older usb chipsets no longer supported in the stock usb frameworks. Without that you won't have a functional usb mouse or keyboard at boot. The AppleHDA.kext is sound support for the depreciated sound chip sets. So you'll have no audio with it.
I’ve done a vanilla install with no patches and my mac 4.1/5.1 boots and I have sound and usb. And now HDMI sound and my pci m.2 is marked as internal all good here

Thanks a million jackluke!!!!Works!!

Great now bring those down to Mojave and High Sierra and Sierra Patchers. I hate brown view in Mojave.
Not quite sure what you mean.
1. @pkouame/@testheit's transparency fix works in Mojave too. (The SkyLightOriginal executable is actually from Mojave.)
2. My acceleration patches are only required for Catalina, @dosdude1 fixed acceleration in Mojave quite a few months ago.
3. Sierra/High Sierra never had issues with grey sidebars/menu bars as far as I know.

On Mojave you also fixed C2D, any Geforce Tesla and discovered the usefulness of a previous CoreDisplay.framework to keep the OpenGL acceleration.

Oops. Totally forgot that CoreDisplay needed to be replaced on 10.14.5+ as well as 10.15, I only remembered Collin's OpenGL/GPUSupport replacements for 10.14.4+. (I've been primarily using 10.14.3 for the last few months.)

On my mac Pro 5,1 with an updated WiFi/BLE card, I turn off SIP and use a couple of commands done by CAT:

sudo /usr/libexec/PlistBuddy -c "Set:Mac-F221BEC8:ContinuitySupport true" "/System/Library/Frameworks/IOBluetooth.framework/Versions/A/Resources/SystemParameters.plist"

sudo -E perl -pi -e "s/\Mac-00BE6ED71E35EB86/\Mac-F221BEC8\0\0\0\0\0\0\0\0/" /System/Library/Extensions/IO80211Family.kext/Contents/PlugIns/AirPortBrcm4360.kext/Contents/MacOS/AirPortBrcm4360

Actually I do this from a Mojave boot.

I re-enable SIP after that and Continuity and Watch Unlock works.

Dear SIrs,
Is there is a way to turn Video acceleration On on iMac mid 2011

Code:
AMD Radeon HD 6770z

or I need to downgrade ?

Look at the first post in the thread:
macOS 10.14 Mojave on Unsupported Macs Thread

AMD Radeon HD 5xxx/6xxx series GPU acceleration
Currently, it is not possible to get full graphics acceleration when running Mojave on a system with a Radeon HD 5xxx or 6xxx series video card. Mojave will be almost unusable without graphics acceleration. This includes the 15" and 17" MacBook Pro systems (MacBookPro8,2 and 8,3). If you want to enable GPU acceleration on these machines, you'll need to disable the AMD video card (This will work on MacBook Pro 8,2 and 8,3 systems ONLY. You CANNOT disable the AMD GPU in an iMac.) Weird colors will also be produced when running Mojave with one of these video cards installed/enabled. To disable the AMD GPU on a 2011 MacBook Pro 8,2 or 8,3, follow the guide found here.

There is also a thread on replacing the graphics card in the 2011 iMac.

2011 iMac Graphics Card Upgrade

just upgrade your iMac's GPU.
just a little while back an bootscreen EFI mod is also released, and works great ;)

I've so far upgraded two iMac's and applied the EFI mod to hem, and Mojave/Catalina works fine now..

Check out this thread :

I still hope one day, HD3000 kexts are put back into the Mojave/Catalina patchers to get sleep mode working again, and I think also Airplay mirroring require them for these 2011 iMac's..

Also by default disabling legacy graphics patch on the Mojave patcher from dosdude1, like it is now with Catalina patcher would be great if made possible ! :)
