I don't know anything about using target mode but yes it is wise to have a macOS Catalina usb patcher just in case something goes wrong and it depends what Catalina Beta version you have installed already but yes you can reinstall macOS Catalina over a preexisting version without losing your data

No Audio devices found on MacPro 3,1 after installing beta 9 with 1.1.3 patcher. Just trying clean install again with 1.1.4.
Screen Shot 2019-09-25 at 9.35.18.png

Something went wrong with my beta 9 install on a MacPro 3,1 using the 1.1.3 patcher because SIP was enabled and there were no Audio devices even after manually setting SIP to off and reinstalling the final patches manually and rebuilding kextcache.
It all came good doing a full clean reinstall with 1.1.4

Im so fed up with Keystone since many years ago. If you want to see something curious, just open the Disk Utility just after booting. You will see as as secret volume is mounted for keystone. Hate Google.

Will sidecar work with the macs?

No, there is a minimum chance to get it working by using a mac equipped with an IntelHD3000 or a GPU produced after 2010 but capable of "AirPlay Display Mirroring", but even in this case you have to don't use the video patch, hence without graphic acceleration.

FYI if you already applied the video patch to a Catalina installation there is no easy way to revert to a non-video patch system, unless before you backed up some Catalina "core frameworks" and many video kext.

Yep, that issue has been fixed in v 1.1.4 of Catalina Patcher.
DP9 running fine on MBP5,2 17". Installed it over DP8 with patcher 1.1.3 via USB installer. Initial KPs fixed by applying post-install patches + cache rebuild (remade the USB installer with 1.1.4 to always have the latest version at hand). Thank you dosdude1!
Nightshift version 2 installed with patch updater, works well. Photos works well, with the small issue of the missing photos tab item as before.

Installed DP9 on an iMac8,1.
Firstly with patcher 1.1.3, which generated a large number of re-boots and KP's, but finally booted after running the post install patches.
Secondly with patcher 1.1.4 which went much more smoothly and booted without applying any patches.
The only major issue is Maps, which crashes when the + and - buttons are used to adjust the scale. See attached error report.
Blue Sky, or any other additional patches, was not installed. Unless there is an impact on Maps, I'm not very concerned about screen brightness.

Hello ThimothyR734..

Sorry for the late answer but..still impossible to install anything on my Macbook since yesterday..something is going wrong with the starting process..hopefully i've made a usable backup of my Macbook (MacOS High Sierra version) and then i have re-formated the hard disk (GUID Partition, HFS+) but since..tried any solution or OS system Install inexorably it stays blocked in the starting window in the middle process..i even tried to re-install a compatible OS it didn't work as well..so i'm out of solution here..

It was two lines of code that didn't managed to work..if you're ok to explain what happen exactly and if it's repairable thanks by advance..

As mentioned many times previously, this is a bug with ASR in Catalina Developer Preview 8. You can create a USB installer under any other macOS version with no issues, or you can patch Catalina Patcher to bypass the check, as I explain here. The "Install to This Machine" option is not affected by this issue.

Darn. Arrandale iGPU graphics acceleration is still messed up on the 2010 MBP 15" (the mouse cursor is laggy when hovering over safari links and windowserver CPU usage is maxed out) - all clean installs

Proper GPU acceleration is present since the menu bars and other accelerated apps run fine. Been an issue since mojave 10.14.5 and never worked properly since

No issues when switching to the GT 330M as usual

Hey everybody!

As you probably know, DP9 worked on non-Metal systems without any update to my code. However, PerfPowerServices repeatedly crashes. Here's a fixed version of the wrappers which should stop that from happening. @dosdude1 @0403979 I promise this won't break everything like my OpenGL "improvement" did.

As usual, please report any weirdness. Happy accelerating! 😊
