The main fact is that my patch is for supported Catalina Mac where many Mac models from 2012 to 2015 and iPad produced from 2014 to 2017 have been escluded by apple for video streaming quality reasons (HEVC GPU with encoder/decoder capable).
Your patch is only Mac models from 2012 to 2015?
My MacPro3,1 is from 2008.
How do I patch SidecarCore.framework for MacPro3,1 2008?
The hint with the Finder helped. No more error message, but with Sidecar still Blackscreen on the iPadPro.
Ok, Sidecar is pure curiosity. Otherwise everything works on the MacPro3,1 with Mojave and Catalina.
my hardware (everything works well with Mojave and Catalina):
GT710 (Metal GPU) on the Apple Cinema 30"
another monitor on the HD5770 (Cable is connected only when I need boot menu)
I have realApple Wifi Broadcom BCM94360CD + BT4.0, OOB works in Mojave and Catalina including handoff.
The iPadPro is supported for Sidecar, the MacPro3,1 is unsupported.

SIP must remain disabled at all times when running a patched copy of macOS.I'm hoping one of you may be able to help me. I did the in place install from Mojave to Catalina with the patcher. I had to disable System Integrity and now I'm not able to get into recovery anymore to re-enable it. I thought maybe my BT wasn't starting up quick enough to catch the command from the keyboard, so I tried a USB keyboard... Still won't go to boot selector, internet recovery, or recovery mode. Any ideas? This is on a Mac Pro 5,1.
Thanks!
Ohhhhh.... My bad. Thanks!SIP must remain disabled at all times when running a patched copy of macOS.
This is interesting as I had exactly the same problem, see:https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/macos-10-15-catalina-on-unsupported-macs.2183772/post-27795122dp9 what is that? with dosdude patcher... after 2snd boot come this...
any patch broken or need?
See this post:https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/macos-10-15-catalina-on-unsupported-macs.2183772/post-27737169Ohhhhh.... My bad. Thanks!
Did you try downloading a fresh copy of Catalina?ah ok i try it to install renew... same on me i switch my HD6770 to GTX860 ...
//after reinstall over installer ... nope same error....
Wait... I can install Catalina w/o patching? cMP5.11, Dual Xeon X5680's, 64GB ECC DDR3, AMD Radeon RX480 8GB, Catalina running off of a 512 GB SSD.See this post:https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/macos-10-15-catalina-on-unsupported-macs.2183772/post-27737169
You can run the cMP5.1 with SIP enabled if you want. Just do not patch. Runs very well without patching but give us your actual configuration if you want more help. You can use the usb installer as a recovery partition. Boot to usb and Terminal is available for you in Utilities menu.
Yes. Have a good look at this thread:Wait... I can install Catalina w/o patching? cMP5.11, Dual Xeon X5680's, 64GB ECC DDR3, AMD Radeon RX480 8GB, Catalina running off of a 512 GB SSD.
The performance will be about the same as with the stock CPU, the only difference is that Penryn Core 2 Duos support the SSE4.1 instruction set, which is required for the Sierra and later kernel to boot.@dosdude1:
Your web page states that "[t]he 2007 iMac 7,1 is compatible [with Catalina patcher] if the CPU is upgraded to a Penryn-based Core 2 Duo, such as a T9300". What sort of performance can be expected from such an upgraded machine, which currently runs El Capitan? Will that be a worthwhile experience? Will there be any kind of GPU acceleration? In case this is considered to be a desirable upgrade, isn't the T9300 chip considered to be for laptops? Are there different flavours of the T9300? Would a T9400 be even better or wouldn't it make any difference?
That card will work with the Legacy Video Card Patch, but I'd recommend upgrading to a Metal-compatible card, such as a GeForce GTX680.
A Nvidia card will have to have a Kepler core as the drivers for the GTX680 are built into Mojave/Catalina. From my experience the GTX680 is an excellent choice - stick to the reference design and the 2GB version to avoid any problems. If you can get one with a Mac efi for the boot screen all the better. There are some faster Kepler cards such as the GTX780. More modern Nvidia cards do not have the drivers for Mojave/Catalina and there are no signs that this will be resolved. I now have a AMD RX580 8Gb. This is definitely faster but I do miss the boot screen but you can live without it. RX580s with Mac efi now appearing but expensive.Have a Mac Pro 5,1 and am thinking of diving in here, my question is I thought there was some advantage to the ATI metal cards compared to the nVidia ones. Does it matter?
(I'd rather go nVidia all things being equal)

I do not think you will regret it. For a 2012 card it still holds its own. Thanks for the reply, yeah I so love having my bootscreen. GTX680 it is.
I can't replace the files , the paste option doesn't work !For those having issues with grey sidebars 1. Place the CatalinaAutoMount in /Library/LaunchDaemons-reboot. 2. Place HIToolbox in /System/Library/Frameworks/Carbon.framework/Frameworks/HIToolbox.framework/Versions/A
3. Place Skylight in /System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/SkyLight.framework/Versions/A folder reboot![]()
