macOS 10.15 Catalina on Unsupported Macs

I upgraded to Catalina my MacPro 3,1 + Nvidia gtx 680 Card with Dosdude1's patcher and the upgrade went well with an USB stick. One bad surprise : my Logitech Mouse didn't worked and I have to wait for an upgraded driver. I had a spare Apple one so my computer stood usable.

One big problem with 2 apps : when I open a movie in VLC, the menus came in red color, and the app can't be used. Exactly same problem with Final Cut Pro even with the latest version upgraded for Catalina. Same red menus making the app unusable !!!!!!! But the strange thing is if I use the competitor of VLC which is IINA to read a movie it is working well without the red menus...........Somebody has a clue to what's happening with these apps ?????????

there is no other way to make that GTX680 to work.
There are no nvidia web drivers anymore since MacOS Mojave.

So nvidia kepler cards are using built-in MacOS drivers..

No webdrivers means no CUDA support anymore atm unfortunately..
let's hope web drivers will be there again in the future, who knows...

I can add one detail : same problem was happening with VLC in 10.14.5 so its not a Catalina related problem !!!!!!!!! I didn't try Final Cut Pro in 10.14.5 so I don't know if it was also before Catalina that it happened.

I upgraded my mini Mac 3,1 Mojave to Catalina, with Dosdude1's patcher and the upgrade went well! Only things I have "Relocated Items" folder on DeskTop and two Patch Updater in Utilities, one is from Mojave, so what I can do with these?! Thanks!

I don't know the answers to your first two questions, but @jackluke found a way to run Dashboard widgets as standalone apps. (Dashboard wasn't 32-bit either, they just chose to remove it.)

There's a Night Shift patch that modifies CoreBrightness framework but I haven't tested it in a few versions. It most likely still works though.

If you disable SIP (done automatically by the patcher) and run sudo mount -uw /; killall Finder you will be able to modify any system files until you reboot. I also made a LaunchDaemon to writably mount the system volume at every boot, but that's generally unnecessary and I don't even use it.

I posted the steps on page 180 post 4492 I make sure I put the CatalinaAutoMount in the /Library/LaunchDaemons folder reboot also if you are reapplying the night shift patch after you installed macOS Catalina at the same time as your installing the BlueSk patches it causes issues first install the Night patch reboot then proceed

You should be able to delete the ones from Mojave I safely deleted the relocated items folder from my desktop last night no issues so far
 
Not sure if I should have an updated app or not. I did a clean install. Tried post install and updater app was ticked but there is still no updater app. Any ideas?

Did you check the applications-utilities folder that is where the patch updater app is located

I am wondering if it is anything to do with installing the skylight patch as I installed over the top of the currupted copy. I'll try another clean install with s new patcher download just incase.
 
Has anybody played with patching Platform.plist?
In the past it obviated the need for the NVRAM argument. This would be helpful on a NVRAM Reset for another reasons.

--> I tested it and it is no longer sufficient to avoid refusal to boot.

After i succesfully installed Catalina onto my MacBook pro 7,1 , my apps in the appstore are gone , while i install mojave back onto my Mac i van install my buyed apps , but under Catalina with the same account i cant ... Tried several installs of mojave and Catalina issue remains the same with the same Apple id

I had the same. If you search for them they are there to get.
