The patcher does not install a working recovery partition but this link works well: https://github.com/chris1111/Catalina-Recovery-HD-PartitionHi all
Trying to start in recovery, fails and I get the following sign:

Then it continues booting normally from the start up disk.
Any ideas? I tried to search this thread but I got completely lost so sorry if this has been answered.
Thanks and Merry Christmas to all.
unless your GPU supports Meta which is required for the newest iMovie it will not work on out unsupported macs I will look it might take a day or so but I think I have an older version of iMovie that does workHi all,
HAPPY CHRISTMAS!!!
I've an issue with an imac 11,1 and Imovie...the preview is not working... there is some workaround?
Bonjour,
You are right ! It doesn't work...so, not a big deal for me.
I wonder if it or the ethernet card will take care of the network ?
Thank you,
Serviteur

Apply the Legacy Video Card Patch in the post-install tool. A Metal-compatible video card would be the best option for that system, though.Hi all. Really appreciate the work done on this project
Quick question. I have a couple of 2008 and 2009 XServes with the stock graphics cards now running 10.15.2 using dosdude’s patcher. However even with the legacy video card patch, the Nvidia GT120 in the 2009 XServe doesn’t appear to be accelerated, therefore its very sluggish when accessed remotely via TeamViewer or Screen Sharing. Would anyone have any suggestions? Had no such issue with Mojave.
Use Catalina Patcher to download a copy of the Catalina installer. Is there a link in this thread for the install app? I checked the 1st page and there wasn't a link other than for the patcher tools. I ask because I tried downloading the 8GB installer from Apple: App Store --> Sytem Updates and it aborted right before the 8GB file was done i.e. close to finished. My internet speed isn't the best so am asking to see if there is a better way to download Catalina?

No controls for brightnees, just that little app, Brightness Slider, that in fact does not control brightness. But works well.Apologies if this has been answered but I have searched around 30 pages and couldn't find the answer.
I have the 2011 MBP with a screwed discrete GPU so use the integrated one at all times. I have been running High Sierra with MikeyN's instructions, allowing the screen to dim/sleep etc. I know the Mojave patch didn't allow this - is this fixed on the Catalina patch? I saw something about core brightness etc but I wasn't sure if this related to the screen dimming/sleeping?
Thank you in advance and apologies again if the question has been asked previously.
Salam saqibhassan, I also have a MBP 2011 8,2 w/disabled GPU and using latest Catalina via Dosdude1 patcher ver. 1.30. (and still use the streamlined version of MikeyN with force-iGPU-boot.sh process although this doesn't seem necessary with the dosdude patcher. I have it setup with the sh script just in case I need to reset PRAM or SMC which process resets back to boot with dGPU). I have full functionality of screen dim/sleep, transparency, etc. with 1.30 patcher (btw worked in Mojave also). You will still have to modify Airdrop as described in detailed and simple to follow post by Jackluke and use a BT 4.0 dongle to add Continuity. Hope this answers your question. cheers.Apologies if this has been answered but I have searched around 30 pages and couldn't find the answer.
