I understand about the patcher and making a bootable drive, I just don't know where to download the new version of 'Mac OS Catalina' when I'm on an unsupported mac?Go to page 1 to find the Dosdude1’s Catalina Patcher after you download a copy of Catalina you will need to make a new installer usb
I tried that, it doesn't work. The 'download' option throws CatalogURL errorwithin the Catalina Patcher when you open the Catalina Patcher you will have 2 options browse for a copy or download a copy
is your ssd/hdd formatted APFS which Catalina requiresI'm on High Sierra
the only thing I could suggest is try going to the macOS Mojave for unsupported Macs and download the Mojave patcher and then down try downloading a copy of Mojave and make a Mojave usb patcher and upgrade that way as Mojave supports both APFS and HFS-Extended-Journaled https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/macos-10-14-mojave-on-unsupported-macs-thread.2121473/I tried it, unfortunately it only shows what's available through my standard app store updates.
Will work like a charm.Guys, I need advice. My boot drive is Sandisk 120GB SSD SATA and I want to change it with a bigger size (250GB) of SATA Samsung SSD. If I clone my unsupported iMac APFS Boot Drive with CarbonCopy Cloner will it work or I must clean install?

It depends your internal HDD/SSD needs to be formatted APFS and for me when I install a new macOS version I do a clean install you can check and try the Catalina Patcher after you install Mojave and see if it downloads Catalina 10.15.3Thanks, this Mojave download is working. So you think that if I manage to install Mojave first I've got a better chance of Catalina patch working?
Yes it has it.Mojave patcher doesn't have the download option, and I don't know where to find Mojave installer for now.
But I just found and downloaded the new version of catalina (10.15.3)
Tried to create a bootable drive and get this error:
"
Mounting BaseSystem.dmg...
hdiutil: attach failed - Read-only file system
"
My flash drive is formatted as Mac OS Extended (Journaled), and it says Writable:YES
Hello! I’ve gotten as far as I can.. in need of someone who knows what their doing. So I created the bootable drive, put this into terminal (diskutil unmountDisk disk0 diskutil unmountDisk disk1 gpt destroy /dev/disk0 gpt destroy /dev/disk1 diskutil appleRAID create stripe Storage JHFS+ disk0 disk1 diskutil unmountDisk disk2 gpt create disk2 gpt add -t hfs disk2), formatted my disk2s1 to APFS, went to install Catalina onto the new APFS drive (RAID0), restarted and said it wasn’t able to be installed, so I unplugged the bootable drive and restarted as the directions said, but then it was stuck at the same spot for over an hour. Went to restart it again and now it says “the copy of the install macOS Catalina application is damaged, and can’t be used to install MacOS. PLEASE HELP!! (WILL DONATE TO WHOMEVER GET MY SYSTEM GOING!) Included the link to the source of my directions*within the Catalina Patcher when you open the Catalina Patcher you will have 2 options browse for a copy or download a copy
