Sleep on my MacPro 3,1 with GTX680 has been much more reliable since I started purging out AAAMouSSE.kext with...

sudo mount -uw /
cd /Library/Extensions
sudo rm -rf AAAMouSSE.kext
cd /
sudo kextcache -i /

Considering that AAAMouSSE.kext is an incomplete emulator of the SSE4,2 instruction set, it seems like Russian roulette to expose all the running code (and not just the AMD video drivers to it).

Note that after you perform those steps to purge out AAAMouSSE.kext and reboot, when you launch the Patch Updater application, it will notice that is missing and offer to reinstall. Just click the button to never remind you again and it won't attempt to reinstall it in the future.

Unless this could be causing it I had to reinstall 10.15.4 beta5 of the UIimprovementView attachment 902367
Hi, TimothyR734, normal here. I'll update the fix to 10.15.4 in the next few days. ;)

The Photos button is missing in Catalina on unsupported Macs. A search for "all photos" in this forum reveals a couple of workarounds. e.g. post #6,871.

@dosdude1 Your app has a function to create an iso file with the pachted from the original un-touched Catalina app, in order to be used into virtual machines. Right? On my machine I can not install from USB anymore since last week, neither macOS or Linux, only Windows from a physical DVD. I have re-flashed the BIOS, reset it a dozen times, removed the CMOS battery two times for reset of CMOS/NVRam (it worked each time, due to the clock reset I know) but nothing solved the issue. Neither Catalina from the patched USB installed (1.3.1 version) or the Mojave pen drive created and untouched since september (I think) work anymore. So I was thinking to burn that iso into a dual lawyer DVD and install on my legacy (BIOS) Hackintosh from there, booting through Clover from USB or another CD-Rom. Do you think this would be possible?

Merci,

Yes, I understand.

But the issue only occurs after "hibernation", not after a simple "sleep".

In the link you mention, it's seems to be "exclusive for iMac 2001" and Intel 3000HD.

I have a MP3,1 with a Nvidia GTX 680 2Go.

I'll try the @jhowarth procedure and let you know.

And what about "Apple internal : enabled" in the csrutil status ?

Any other solution ?

Serviteur,

Serviteur,

Interesting. I have...

Apple Internal: disabled

on my MacPro 3,1 with GTX680 for the patched 10.15.3 volume that I installed patched 10.15.4 over. However for an external drive with a clean install of patched 10.15.4, I see...

Apple Internal: enabled

Have you tried...

sudo csrutil enable --no-internal

from a recovery partition terminal window?

Enabling parts of System Integrity Protection while disabling specific parts?

I am unclear how you 'aim' csrutil at a specific target drive. Perhaps by ejecting the other one prior to executing the command?

Hi everybody,

I have installed Catalina 10.15.4 on my iMac 9.1 early 2009 using patch 1.3.1 and everything worked fine, the only problem is the usual not being able to control the brightness of the screen, but applying the patch CoreBrightness gets fixed.

However I encountered a problem when applying this patch the DisplayPort stops working and I cannot use the second monitor as I go back to the login window. Disconnecting the second monitor everything works fine.

Does anyone know how to fix this? (if it can be fixed ...)

The solution would be to not apply the CoreBrigthness patch but then the iMac screen is very dark and I couldn't find another way to increase the brightness.

Many thanks and regards

Merci,

I just enter your command "sudo csrutil enable --no-internal" from a recovery partition terminal window (in fact the USB stick loaded with @dosdude1 1.3.5. patcher)...reboot...and still in CSRutil Status :

Configuration:
Apple Internal: enabled
Kext Signing: disabled
Filesystem Protections: disabled
Debugging Restrictions: disabled
DTrace Restrictions: disabled
NVRAM Protections: disabled
BaseSystem Verification: disabled

I have 3 disks in my MP 3,1. : One SSD with the OS and two other disks for data and photos

Serviteur,

Since dosdude1 said that the boot.efi and SIPManager.kext required fixes to disable AFMI, I suspect we just have found a corner case that still needs to be addressed in SIPManager.kext. I emailed Collin earlier this morning to alert him to this bug.

If you have a patched 10.15.3 installer laying around, you might try booting from that and executing "sudo csrutil enable --no-internal" in case that disables Apple Internal on the 10.15.4 volume.

Hi,

iMac mid2010 gtx 765 works great with dosdude patch 10.15.3. After upgrading to 10.15.4, I need to starting my system the option key to select my bood disk. If not then black screen but system is accessible with ssh/ VNC.
Ne1 any idea?

trying to update my iMac 7,1 from catalina 10.15.3 to 10.15.4. is there an easier way to do it rather than downloading the whole O/S also while trying to recrated my patched bootable media with the updated O/S I get an error message saying:
"An error occurred while attempting to save the BaseSystem image. Ensure that there is at least 10GB of free space on your Startup Disk, then try again."

when I check the log this is what I get:
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Mounting BaseSystem.dmg...

/dev/disk3 GUID_partition_scheme
/dev/disk3s1 Apple_HFS /private/tmp/basesystem

Patching BaseSystem.dmg...

hdiutil: couldn't unmount "disk3" - Resource busy
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The thing is I have 80gb of free space left so it can't possibly be lack of space. Has anyone else experienced this issue? If so how do you get around it?
In my case, before using @dosdude1's patcher, I need to uninstall Sophos AV and reboot, which stops this error occurring.
I'm now on 10.15.4 thanks to @dosdude1 and others here who understand so much more than I do!

I tried your procedure :
sudo mount -uw /
cd /Library/Extensions
sudo rm -rf AAAMouSSE.kext
cd /
sudo kextcache -i /
...no way...same problem after hibernation.

and also :

sudo csrutil enable --no-internal
from a recovery partition terminal window

same thing : csrutil status shows Apple internal : enable !

To be continued !

Retry 'sudo csrutil enable --no-internal' booted from a patched 10.15.3 installer's terminal window.

Since upgrading to 10.15.4, I've had a few apps throw this error and crash/close immediately upon opening:

Exception Type: EXC_CRASH (Code Signature Invalid)
Termination Reason: Namespace CODESIGNING, Code 0x1

Any easy way of fixing this?

Same here. The apps that crash on my MPB 8,2 are Brave browser, Chrome, Parallels Desktop and Microsoft office. The odd is that if you restart the app after the crash, it works for the current session. Back to one-time crash after a restart.

You're right, noticed the same behaviour starting from 10.15.4 build 19E266, after one crash, those apps can run for the current session without crashes.

Boot off USB installer, open Terminal, run "csrutil disable". Then boot back into the OS and the apps will work fine from that point forward. I'll fix this properly in the next Catalina Patcher release.

Hello, it seems to be a general failure. It also occurs to me. Nobody comments on this, I do not know if it is because, it seems that it is giving more serious problems to other users. Hopefully the boys find a solution, they do a great job.

I also discussed the problem here:
