Finally, at long last, FULL Recovery Partition support has been added to Catalina Patcher version 1.4.3! Not only will the Recovery Partition now boot and work as intended, but it has also been modified to include the post-install tool! You can now boot from the Recovery Partition to re-apply post-install patches, instead of using a second external installer volume. Also, Safe Mode booting has been fixed as well.

What are the nuances for using the new Recovery Partition under the option boot selector on machines with the APFS ROM patch? I noticed that a test clean install from a patched 10.15.4 installer created with Catalina Patcher 1.4.3 still only produces the same EFI Boot and APFS volumes in the option boot selector. Does the patched Catalina volume have to be previously selected as the Startup Disk to boot into the Recovery Partition or can you select it with some permutation from the option boot selector (by immediately pressing the R key or something)?

Yesterday I updated to latest Zoom version and now I have no video. Permissions are ok. Where can i find an older version of Zoom that works with Catalina? How can i fix the issue?
Any help/tips will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
So I dont take credit or reponsibility but this version seemed to work for me...

seems like I missed the other replies about this. Mods please delete if you want

was just going to try that.

Rerunning the patcher with just "install on this machine" did not work.

I am also unable o start tccplus anymore because of

Peer connection [pid=426] lacks APSConnectionInitiateEntitlement

Working to see if I can figure out how to enable that so I can still use tccplus
restart your Mac when you hear the chime hold the option button boot in the Catalina Patcher apply the post install patches

It works just like it does on a supported Mac. Just hold Command + R when booting if your Catalina volume is set as the startup disk, or hold the same keys while selecting it in the boot picker.

One other question. Does the recovery partition now exist as an APFS volume? The reason I ask is because the option boot selector doesn't show a separate Recovery Partition volume.

Also, on my MacPro 3,1 with APFS ROM patch, I am seeing that holding the command-R key after hitting option produces a gray screen with the Apple logo but no progress bar. It seems to be hung at that point.

MacBookPro8,1 stuck on 10.5.4. Won't install the supplemental update for some reason. USBopencoreAPFSLoader2 doesn't show any other partitions before booting (on the first restart of during update). Any pointers?

Hello,
I just re-installed all patches with Dosdude 1.4.3 patcher on my MBP 8,2. Safe mode and the amfi issue resolved with this updated patch. THANK YOU MUCH dosdude! One question: I have tried to boot into recovery mode (CMD+R) only to land on a blank white screen no Apple logo or boot sequence happening. Is there something I am missing i.e. creating a recovery partition first as explained in a prior setting-up-recovery-partition post I saw I while ago to enable boot into recovery without USB Installer; or is that created reinstalling the OS with 1.4.3 ? Thanks

Same MBP 8,2 and same problem with the recovery. White screen and nothing else. In addition Brave, Chrome and Office still crash on the first run. The nvram parameter amfi_get_out_of_my_way=1 solves this problem.
Thanks!

@Tim Thomason @TimothyR734 @jackluke I think I fixed the Boom3 issue. My microphone working now.

I installed Catalina over the top of my drive again with the latest dosdude1 installer. This time I just installed these patches;

Install Patch Updater (Installed this cause I need NightShift)
Legacy Video
Legacy USB Support Injector
Legacy Wifi
Legacy Ethernet
Legacy Audio
New Recovery Patch

I didnt installed these patches for this time;

Platform Check Patch
Legacy Platform Compatibility Pacth
APFS Patch
SIP Disabler Patch (Which we are using as a boot-arg 77000000)
Library Validation Disabler Patch

Remove this boot-args from my config.plist

amfi_get_out_of_my_way=1

Looked my Device Path (Hackintool) and layout-id (IORegistryExplorer) and add these to my config.plist

Screen Shot 2020-04-17 at 21.12.41.png

Now Microphone and Boom fully working.

Hmm, I'll look into that. It definitely works on the non-APFS native Macs.

EDIT: It seems to be an issue with the machine's system firmware. Booting using the boot picker, and holding the Command + R keys while selecting your Catalina volume, works just fine.

Has anyone already noticed the change in battery charging procedure in 10.15.5b2 ?
Would it be detectable somewhere in the macOS settings or infos?
I´d guess that even if Apple actively disables it on some supported machines, all the necessary sensors are in our unsupported machines as well, so we could expect some trick to enable this...?!

Sorry, lose something.... How can I use this? (The nvram parameter amfi_get_out_of_my_way=1 solves this problem)?

thanks
exactly, try this boot param!

On my MacPro 3,1 with Mac ROM'd GTX and APFS ROM patch, the new clean install of 1.4.3 patched 10.15.4 produced the following partitions.

/dev/disk6 (external, physical):
#: TYPE NAME SIZE IDENTIFIER
0: GUID_partition_scheme *250.1 GB disk6
1: EFI EFI 209.7 MB disk6s1
2: Apple_APFS Container disk7 249.8 GB disk6s2

/dev/disk7 (synthesized):
#: TYPE NAME SIZE IDENTIFIER
0: APFS Container Scheme - +249.8 GB disk7
Physical Store disk6s2
1: APFS Volume Catalina HD - Data 4.2 GB disk7s1
2: APFS Volume Preboot 82.1 MB disk7s2
3: APFS Volume Recovery 731.2 MB disk7s3
4: APFS Volume VM 1.1 MB disk7s4
5: APFS Volume Catalina HD 11.0 GB disk7s5

Holding down the option key as well as command and R when clicking on the "Catalina HD" icon in the boot selector still just produces the gray Apple icon splash screen but no boot progress bar ever appears.

@dosdude1 do these boot arguments define these patches?

Platform Check Patch (-no_compat_check)
Legacy Platform Compatibility Patch (-no_compat_check for legacy)
Library Validation Disabler Patch (amfi_get_out_of_my_way=1)

Hello guys. I'm sorry but I would be very happy is someone could explain this for dummies:

Since I installed to the latest Catalina, Chrome always crashes after the first start after a fresh reboot. Then on the second click it starts. I tried the "codesign" trick and this only works until the next Chrome update. Is there something else I still have to do? Because with 10.15.3 everything was ok.
