A couple of notes on the install process:
- I had to boot on Catalina Loader in order for stage 2 (OTA pre scripts) to work, and later chose the "Install Macos" partition, otherwise I got forbidden symbol.
- Have to install dosdude post install patches right after stage 3 reboots, or the systems gets unbootable (boot loop) on stage 4.

About this install, today I noticed it wiped my Windows UEFI boot from the EFI partition, making my Windows 10 unbootable (It doesn't show on the boot picker). I can't be 100% sure this install was the culprit, but I can't think of something else I've done that could delete the EFI windows folder.

Anyway, I'll take a closer look on next OS upgrade to confirm this.

If someone happens suffer the same missing EFI windows boot, here is a quick and easy fix that worked for me.

Darn, it's so hard to test solutions for this issue, as it happens so sporadically. I'm only able to make it happen a single time after a clean install on any of my machines.

I was able to repair my mid 2010 Macbook pro using your guide to replace the C9560 capacitor. Excellent video!

Now I installed Catalina 10.15.7 with your Catalina Patcher 1.4.4. Unfortunately, 3rd party apps keep on crashing very frequently in my case (despite I have the Library Validation Disabler patch installed).

Is there some earlier version of the Catalina patcher that does not suffer from this problem?

You can check the patch updater in /Applications/Utilities folder make sure you have the Library Validation disabler patch installed. 2 when you open etc an app like Microsoft Word and error message pops up do not close the error message close the app and re-open the app then once the app is open close the error message. # check your nvram-p settings you might meed nvram boot-args="-no-compat-check amfi_get_out_of_way=1"

I'd bet its the old version. I'm still downloading the Catalina installer 15.7.02 which is exactly the same as the September 30th version, the last time this got touched on Apple's servers. The file size is the same too. It looks like updates will happen through software update until someone at Apple finally gets around to making a full download version.

I just launched gibMacOS-master and it shows that 10.15.7 (19H15) was added on 11/11/20.

I too am facing issues with 3rd party apps not opening and just crashing. The error message ops up and then retrying with app opens but this is not a solution. Need some solution to have a smooth working Catalina. Any terminal command to fix it please advice

Full Catalina 10.15.7, build 19H15, installer 15.7.03 is now up. Just downloaded it using-

hi guys i just used the catalina patcher on my mac pro 3,1 and I'm trying to install office 2019 for mac.
when i try to run the installer, i keep getting the error "The operation couldn’t be completed. (com.apple.installer.pagecontroller error -1.)"

i see a lot of you have office 2019 installed without any issues. am i missing something?

edit: ended up downloading a newer installer and no issues.

Can also confirm https://github.com/corpnewt/gibMacOS worked perfect to build the H15 installer. Took about an hour to D/L the components and assemble the latest full installer into the ƒ. Made the USB patcher w/ v.1.4.4 successfully.

I can confirm the same. And no problem installing from a patched Usb.

If you need it, sure. Runs as smooth as Mojave in my Mac pro 3.1. One thing you must know: some graphics cards lose the Displayport out in Catalina.

Not at all, if you want to use the displayport. I had to install a DVI to displayport adapter for keep using my Led Cinema Display.

Okay, so I downloaded H15, how does one build an installer? I've never done that before.

So far so good. This just discovered tool, gibMacOS, was dead simple, well written & I loved the well commented py script. Patched with dosdude1's Catalina Patcher, now installing on iMac 20" 2009 which still supports graphics acceleration. Much gratitude for this python tool.

And only Chrome and Microsoft Office apps crash (once in a session). So it's not a big deal. The other 3rd party apps I have (like Matlab 2020, Maple 2020, Firefox, Texstudio, ...) work like a charm. For me this is the command that has helped. No crashes at all anymore:

sudo nvram boot-args=amfi_get_out_of_my_way=0x1

Where do I download mac os Catalina? I have Mojave, and I'm ready to update on this iMac (2015, plenty of ram and hard drive room) but the downloader in system settings is big sur, and no thank you. but I don't see it anywhere easily, just on apples sites the supplemental updates to Catalina, not the original big file.
