Hi there,
After installing the H505 update, my magic mouse is annoyingly disconnecting and reconnecting in a random manner.
I've experience this yesterday and today as in 5 times in an hour... or as little as 1 time in an hour.
Anyone experiencing the same?
Wait is it a Magic Mouse 2 I’m having issues with that sort of. After turning the mouse off it won’t recognize unless I disconnect and sometimes reconnect it. Or forget the Bluetooth device.

With the exact same iMac on H505 for a week, no problems at all.
I thought I'd revert back on this...
I changed the batteries on my magic mouse (the previous were rechargeable and at 37%) and everything is working fine now. It looks like it was a battery issue and nothing to do with the H505 update.

It is similar with Mojave as well after a security update.

Then tried it on my MacBook Pro 7,1 and had issue even tried a Bluetooth 4.0 dongle kind of helped. Since my 7,1 only has Bluetooth 2.1.

Hey, I created a USB bootable installation drive but it won't boot. It gets stuck at the Apple logo (after pressing alt->selecting macos installation base). I'm using MacBook Air 13 (mid-2011) / MacBookAir4,2. Anyone encountered a similar issue? Thanks.

This issue is so apparent that even @dosdude1 himself dedicated it a special comment. Not in all cases the download is error free and the createinstallmedia may add bit errors, too.

So you may get a non working USB installer. Download patcher and installer again and rebuild your USB from the scratch.

Is it possible to get support for iPhone 12 Mini on MacBook7,1 and for portrait-pictures by iPhone 12 Mini on Catalina 10.15.7?

Thanks for the suggestion. I tried doing that multiple times but it didn’t work, unfortunately... Maybe my USB is busted or I need to format it a certain way.

Dev. Ed Beta of 2021-001 yields 19H510. MRT was 1.62 upped w/SilentKnight to 1.72. Validation Patch requested an update. Runs w/o issues.

MBP5,2 is now also on 10.15.7 security update beta 2021-001 (19H510).

Installed on a USB SSD using jackluke's CatalinaOTAswufix.app, Software Update fix then OTA update fix, then jackluke's OC 4b to boot into install macOS. Proceeded right to the login screen.
Could login but graphics not quite OK, so applied dosdude's 1.4.4 post-install patches, now all fine.
Also ran Patch Updater to let it (re)install the Library Validation Disable patch as proposed.

A word regarding the USB SSD: it is a CCC clone of the internal production Catalina SSD. While it was always fine to boot a clone of a system made from a full installer, several times now that didn't work when cloning OTA updated systems.
The clone proceeded to the login screen but login was hanging after entering the password.
I then re-installed 10.15.7 supplemental (the last full installer available, H15) over the clone, then H505 at the time, and now H510 over H505.
I now use a set of rsyncs, rather than CCC, to keep user data and applications up to date on the clone. CCC Version 5.1.25-b3 (6152).

Apparently recent iMovie versions don't work with the Patcher due to the lack of metal graphics. Does that apply to other Apple apps? As soon as I try to start the presentation mode in Keynote, the app crashes.

iMovie_10.1.12 from High Sierra works but IINA is worth considering.

Note: It appears that Pages, Keynote and Numbers versions all the way back to El Capitan work with Catalina on an unsupported Mac. Versions for Mojave, Catalina, Big Sur will have Metal issues.

IINA is being installed now. iMovie 10.1.12 was on my Mojave Macs. And Keynote 9.1, which seems to working. Thanks.

Keynote version 10.3.9 (installed today) has issues with presentation mode also in my case - not crashing but hanging at start of presentation. The latest which still works seems is version 10.0 from beginning of April 2020.
Restored it from a TimeMachine backup. Thanks for the heads up!

Mini 3,1 w/10.15.7 19H15 installed via USB w/patcher 1.4.4. Trying to upgrade to 19H505. Downloaded and fixed, but upon reboot it fails at the firmware update stage, so I need USBOpenCoreAPFSLoader3 to block this. Don't understand how to use USBOpenCoreAPFSLoader3 app. It seems to want to create a USB stick, so I've tried several times to create a USB stick which all seem to fail. I tried with a 'blank' USB, thinking it would show using the Option key boot. Perhaps I should be using my 19H15 USB Installer and keep the data on the stick? Or can I use it directly onto the internal HD. I'm just trying to get the update to install. I know that after it installs I'll need to reboot the USB and repatch. Right now, I'm in a reboot loop, stuck. Instructions please for using USBOpenCoreAPFSLoader3 to upgrade Mini 3,1.

One can make the OpenCoreAPFSloader3 USB two ways -
•Using a new USB2 plug formatted OS X Extended (Journaled) or
•On the v.1.4.4 patcher USB on a separate partition. Since the OpenCoreAPFSloader3 is tiny at 34.7MB, make the smallest partition Disk Utility will permit on the patcher USB and install there. The result is a dual-boot installer USB.

If the CatalinaOTAswufix.app was previously successful, booting into the OpenCoreAPFSloader3 partition will reveal "macOS installer" as one of the items to select and will complete the update process to a <option> reboot back into the USB installer partition to re-patch and Force Rebuild Caches. *** If "macOS installer" is NOT one of the items to select in OpenCoreAPFSloader3, go to /Library/Updates and delete everything in the folder and re-run CatalinaOTAswufix.app to start over. Make certain the OTAUpdateFix button is selected early-on.

One would think given @jackluke's excellent interactive in-process help within his two very necessary apps, none of these observations would be needed? Since prattling on this topic litters the thread, which comments need to be joined or combined? Thanks for your interest, really. ??
