Maybe we need to see the results of those commands to suggest next steps. Have you tried booting from a different macOS?
Thank you for looking into it.
I booted from an external USB with Dosdude1's Patcher on it, from there I ran Disk First Aid.

Terminal renders the following results for the undetectable folders via the ls -l@OG command:
for the folder "Resource" (2 examples from the list of files contained in the folder)
-rw------- 1 r staff - 1270 29 Jul 16:30 00CB66CD54A5634CD7FE9848D513DFE362F831AC
-rw------- 1 r staff - 140213 31 Jul 09:02 2BB4BF535C719F59EF228E74418363346DBEB4E0-blob

for the folders "Blobs" and "355839D21ECE8AF844CEB0EF263A62EDAC6D3D6C" there is no output.

Is there anything you can suggest? Since these folders were subfolders of "com.apple.safari"... deleting Safari and re-installing it?

Thanks in advance for your help, that is very kind of you, joevt

I don't think this is related to Catalina on unsupported Macs, so we should move this to a new thread. Post the URL of the new thread here.
Also, when you paste text from Terminal.app, it would be helpful to include all the output and enclose it in [code] [/code] tags to preserve formatting.

For directories, include the -d flag to get info for the directory instead of the directory's files.
ls -l@OG -d thedirectory

See if you can change the owner from to yourself (unless you are "r"?)
sudo chown joevt:staff thefileordirectory

Show the error when you try to
sudo rm thefile

Another successful CatalinaOTAAswufix update to macOS Catalina 10.15.7 (19H1323) on my Late 2009 iMac 27 i7 16GB RAM 1TB SSD Samsung 860.

It did take several tries to get CatalinaOTAAswufix to patch the update. On a hunch, I tried running Silent Knight 115 and found that a couple of things were out-of-date and as soon as those were updated, CatalinaOTAswufix finally worked! I'm not completely sure Silent Knight fixed the issue, but I'll take it for now, as I have 19H1323 up and running!

I noticed on the nightly build of OCLP a new option to allow the Terascale 2 (aka HD 5xxx and 6xxx series) patches to be applied to Mojave / Catalina. It hosed my first installation because it got halfway through with an error parsing the script and I stupidly rebooted without fixing the error. One of the paths in the script had an extra - in the parameter, once I fixed that the patches applied successfully and BOOM! Catalina runs SO much better on this 2011 iMac than Big Sur. Virtually ALL of the graphics glitches in Big Sur are gone now with Catalina, no stupid transparency issues, no light menu bar issues, no issues with Final Cut Pro and iMOvie and GarageBand, etc etc. Amazing work guys, as always! We appreciate all the time and effort you put into these old machines to keep them running. I bet this single Terascale 2 patch will bring back a few hundred thousand machines from the graveyard. As we all know the 2011's can be really tricked out with 32GB ram, SSD drives, thunderbolt, basically all the goodies except USB3.

Error in script??
Yes there was an extra - in one of the directories inside the script, which causes it to fail while patching. I figured it would already be fixed but I tried again last night with a new nightly build and still the same error. It's in Payloads\Apple\Extensions\Graphics-Acceleration\ the script is looking for Intel-Gen6-SandyBridge but the actual folder is named Intel-Gen6-Sandy-Bridge. I just removed the extra dash after it downloads and extracts the payload but before it begins patching, works fine after that.

To remove all files of a directory use the -R option. Make sure there's nothing in the folder you want to keep.
Code:
sudo rm -R /Users/r/Desktop/Resource
sudo rm -R /Users/r/Desktop/Blobs
sudo rm -R /Users/r/Desktop/355839D21ECE8AF844CEB0EF263A62EDAC6D3D6C

-R can also be used with chown and chmod
Code:
sudo chown -R r:staff /Users/r/Desktop/Resource
sudo chown -R r:staff /Users/r/Desktop/Blobs
sudo chown -R r:staff /Users/r/Desktop/355839D21ECE8AF844CEB0EF263A62EDAC6D3D6C

Thank you joevt, for your outstanding help. I highly appreciate that. I value your information very much, it enables be to learn.

Still the files won't delete, dammit. Terminal doesn't even bother to give a result. Just no output.

Thanks again, joevt.

This Update also doesn't show in software update prefs. Any Ideas ? TIA

You'll need at least moderate SMBIOS spoofing (that's an advanced option in the OCLP terminal application) in order to be able to boot macOS versions older than Big Sur on an unsupported system.

Ok, thanks for your suggestion.
Booting is not the problem, all is OK.
I checkmarked the Use Moderate SMBIOS patching (first used to OCLP GUI and afterwards the CLI) and selected the pseudo Model Dortiana1,1.... but no sigar here..... The SecUpd2021-004Catalina standalone updater still says: "This software is not supported on your system."
Any idea what the "Model" choice has to be for this to succeed ? TIA.
Is a EFI partition boot select needed in order to make the OCLP SMBIOS changes effective ?

Is this a Mac you are running with OLCP? Then the answer is obvious. Let the app decide depending on the hardware.

Yep,.. Cheese grater 4,1 flashed to 5,1 for a 6 core xeon with a nvidia GTX680 (works fine). Used OCLP 0.2.4 The app suggest "MacPro5,1",... but that doesn't make the SecUpd2021-004Catalina standalone updater work..

We are going round in circles.

You should generate a new EFI with OCLP with moderate spoofing, write it to your EFI partition, reboot the Mac into Catalina and check if apple softwareupdate works.

Check the OCLP online docs to get a better idea how this all works out.

If you want to edit the config yourself visit this thread. We all use OC to get the software update process working again.

Round in circles... not really IMHO... I did generate a new EFI with moderate spoofing settings and rebooted into Catalina.... The "dortiana1,1" pseudo model doesn't allow this Security update to proceed. I'll read the thread you suggested and report later. Thank you.

Hello guys, I got Macbook 8,2 with HighSierra and failed AMD gpu. I installed Catalina with Dosdude patch, and it wasn't seem to be a problem, even after dGPU disabler I was able to control brightness and got the sleep mode. For some scientific reasons I've reset the SMC and PRAM. Now it hangs on gray screen.
I tried to put the "sudo nvram fa4ce28d...etc" into single user mode but it says "port is not ready for callouts" and nothing changes.
Also for some reason it launches not the intel gou but amd, bc I got horizontal stripes on my screen.
Could someone get it clear to me how to fix it ???

upd.
got it fixed via unplugging the fans from the bottom of my mac and letting the gpu heat itself then I booted up into catalina and applied @dosdude1 dGPU disabler again. Now, everything works fine, except Dark Mode auto switch
@dosdude1, may be there any fix to not let the PRAM and SMC reset lose dGPU patch on Catalina? Thanks for replying in advance
upd 2.
Am I the only one who doesn't have the Apple News app and no Hey Siri?

How can I enable SIP on a patched Catalina Mac ?

I have an app (Script Debugger) which needs permission to send AppleEvents but, I suspect it cannot be provided with that permission because SIP is disabled (by the "SIP Disabler Patch"). I have tried to enable SIP in Recovery Mode but got an error "csrutil: failed to modify system integrity configuration. This tool needs to be executed from the Recovery OS" which was very odd as I definitely did boot into Recovery.

So, is there another way to enable SIP on a patched Catalina Mac ? I'm currently running 10.15.7 build 19H1323 on a late 2009 27" i5 iMac.

Thanks.

if it is patched with @dosdude1 , it´s because you have selected in the "Disable SIP" in the list of patches. No matter what you do at terminal in Recovery Mode, SIP it will always be disabled when finished booting. You have to unistall that particular patch, if that is posible.

Quoting directly from the scriptures according to Dortania - "Note 2: Currently OpenCore Legacy Patcher officially supports patching to run macOS 11, Big Sur installs. For older OSes, OpenCore may function however support is currently not provided from Dortania.

For macOS Mojave and Catalina support, we recommend the use of dosdude1's patchers" 🧐

Yes. Don't know yet how to uninstall the patch. One way would be to reinstall macOS then apply patches but omitting the SIP patch. That doesn't appeal: lot of time and work + lack of SIP patch might make using the iMac, even for a short time, very difficult.
