Unfortunately I cannot get Catalina to install. I have downloaded Catalina Patch, ESDDmg.pkg. Everything went fine, When I go to the MAC OS install it still says it's not supported on this Mac.
My system is :
Mid 2010 5,1
2 x 3.06ghz 6 core Intel Xeon
32gb 1333 DDR3 memory
Nvidia GForce GTX680 2gb flashed to Apple
Software update still show Mac is updated to Mojave 10.14.6 beta (18G59b).
I'm sure I am doing something wrong but have know clue as to what.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Cloning a Windows disk to an image with NTFS format, and Master Boot Record.

I thought it as gonna error out because NFTS is not mentioned anywhere in the man pages. Will be interesting if I can do a restore with it.

I just made my MBP 4,1 (Early 2008, not unibody) well working in Mojave. I do not hurry but wanted to ask whether is now or say with next beta possible to install Catalina on it. First from drivers side and second from user side. I am not dumb user but not hacker as well :) I have not seen any mention of this machine in whole thread.
I do expect that next public beta could be better target or maybe even later. Thanks for info.

I guess when I have SSD formated in HFS+ then I should still better wait, right?

Please send me a message if you learn of a colleague that has successfully installed 10.15 Catalina on a MacBookPro 4,1
Thanks.

Have you set the nvram so that the supported macs check is not done?

From Mojave run this command before you install Catalina.

sudo nvram boot-args="-no_compat_check"

sudo nvram boot-args="-no_compat_check"

and most importantly is you SIP disabled
dosdude's installer has the NVRAM boot argument integrated and SIP is not needed cause it applies it at the pre-boot environment. @dosdude1 correct me if I am wrong

MP 5.1 does not need the SIP disabled. Members on the 5.1 thread have got Cat running with just the nvram setting. It appears it can run Cat in a vanilla form. However, the old Wi-Fi card is not supported so many are going for an upgrade such as the BCM94360CD so it works oob with just the nvram command.
