Well actually!... No, sorry couldn't help myself. You left that one well open for that joke ;) (Just to be clear I'm not the one you replied to there, I just thought I'd chime in again - I'm the guy who originally answered your question about Voice Control's ability to perhaps replace Dragon dictation for you)

Anyways, chiming in again;
Despite being maintained by Apple in Cali, Siri works way better in Spanish actually, because the language is way more phonetically consistent, thus lending itself better to computer speech-to-text software. Though when it comes to English accents you should be good :)
I'm Danish myself though my accent is more hybrid after travelling a lot and just generally being exposed to English from many different accent-angles. - In any case, my point is that it works well for me the majority of the time, so you definitely should be good to go.
Lol. well done. and that's interesting info. Thanks for sharing and testing.

PDF rendering on non-retina displays seems to be sharp again, not like the washed **** that was since the last few years.
Oh boy. I hope it will stay sharp. I think rendering got broken in El Cap, then fixed in Sierra, then ****** again in 10.13+
Can you tell me if a pdf page renders immediately or if there is still this little blurry phase introduced in 10.13?

My photo library stopped syncing on the Mac. Deleted the file. Creased new one forms scratch. Something’s not going well in that area.

Photos
New Features
  • To improve the Photos upgrade experience, Photos is testing database upgrades using a clone of the Photo Library. This clone doesn’t include the content of each photo, but does include faces metadata and a thumbnail image of each person in your library. It also contains metadata such as the asset name and the geographic location of the photo. It is created at ~/Pictures/macOS 10.15 Pre-Upgrade Backup, and you can manually remove this backup at any time. The clone will be removed automatically before the final release of macOS 10.15. (51033690)

Still it shouldn’t mess with the syncing, being a parallel process

Anyway. Started from scratch. Managed to lose my recovery partition during the process so had to do the entire internet recovery thing. Installed Sierra and upgrading now to Mojave. Then back to Catalina to see again how it performs.

Can anyone chime in on the persistent hotspot feature? I know auto hotspot is added to the wifi menu but no words on the persistent counterpart. ios 13 has both and I've read some reports that they work as advertised. It's time for mac to have these features.

It is a beta. There really is no 'shouldn't' in betas. Don't expect anything to work like you want in a beta.

It is only and only meant for real developers who either work to make it better, or to try their apps and make their apps work, and in process help Apple make its OS work better. That's all there is to it.

I totally agree . By “shouldn’t” I meant that the new database tests shouldn’t be the reason the original one stopped syncing. Or maybe ? And yes being a beta things are expected not to work.

Anyway got back to a clean Mojave (through a clean Sierra) and today back to Catalina. It’ll be a clean install and I’ll get to see how some previously tweaked things work out of the box (for ex for the I messaging app to not freeze and to open fast I had disabled the automatic termination of apps).

10.15 fresh install from scratch done (with bootable usb created from Catalina image downloaded from Mojave). All set up and first login. Check for updates: boom! 10.15 available if I hit upgrade now it just starts downloading again. WTH

Beta 2 just dropped, which is probably the version it's prompting you to install now. Check the version number in the installer vs. the version number in About This Mac.

So now in beta 2 file name is not 10.15 anymore? Is Catalina? I didn’t know why was not able to run the terminal command to create the bootable usb

for whatever reason beta 2 seems that mail app is more buggy then beta 1 - not properly syncing

also I can't change stores in Apple Music. I login it tells me it has to switch stores but it stays in the same. therefore no playback possible for now.

Boy, "Home" still looks like a disaster. It still doesn't seem like a Mac app at all just from that screenshot. Thankfully, Podcasts looks a lot better...much more AppKit like.

Looks like this is indeed a bug. The flag in the bottom right of the store takes you to the store switching page, but clicking any country just takes you back to the store with no region change.

Looks like there’s now a tab for GPU under activity monitor. Here’s to our fellow eGPU users.

That's because Podcasts *is* an AppKit app.

Good find, I wondered why the Activity Monitor was missing a GPU graph for so long. iStat Menus has one which I turned on as it's nice to keep track of the GPU usage (though not an eGPU in my case).

going to iCloud.com gives you a short message under reminders ('coming soon')

Screen Shot 2019-06-18 at 10.29.23.png

and there is a login with Touch ID prompt (similar like pay with Apple Pay on macOS safari) when going to appleid website
