Can someone confirm whether it is possible again to display both columns for sender and recipient at the same time?
It has been really annoying that in Catalina, it was only possible to display either sender or recipient.

Thanks!

Everything getting better than in Catalina! The Mail.app "classic view" functions like exactly in Mojave and before. Changeable column width, one click ordering, selectable columns, etc.

In macOS 10.15 PC are represented by this awful graphics, did Apple change that too in 11.0?

I always liked that retro PC graphic with the cheeky blue screen of death. Unfortunately my PC’s shared network drive isn’t available to test at the moment because I installed Ubuntu with a macOS Mojave theme on that drive so I could play around with it.

Ubuntu with Mojave theme:

The traffic lights are on the wrong side of the title bar. Is this the British Edition? 😛

Thats the best Mojave theme I've seen! A link for me, please.

Also, if you want a global menubar, install xfce4-panel and xfce4-appmenu-plugin. Get an extension to hide the top bar in Gnome.

If you want to make your dock look more macOS like, lookup DockBarX. For Launchpad replacement, search for xfdashboard.

Install Gnome Tweaks and then on YouTube search for Mojave/Catalina theme for Ubuntu. It’s the top result. On the YouTube links get the theme and icon set.

I deliberately didn’t use a Dock theme because it’s good like how I made it. I just used Gnome Tweaks to put it at the bottom and center it.

You can also fetch Pantheon File Manager to get Miller Columns and Color Labels. It’s only available from the command line, if I remember it’s...

I'd wager that this is merely a question of shifting macOS to follow the same nomenclature as the remaining OS'. So next year we will get macOS 12, to go with iOS 15, tvOS 15, watchOS 8. It is easier to remember than 10.x, since you simply skip the first and irrelevant number. It may also be the first step in going away from the naming convention of big releases. 'macOS Big Sur' is an absolutely awful name IMHO.
Hey now, I live about 30 miles from Big Sur...

I noticed that, too. Maybe we'll find references to "Snow Catalina" or "High Catalina" elsewhere.
Haha :D I wonder if it's something that coconutBattery is pulling from the macOS code, or if it's something that the cB developers coded themselves (before 'Big Sur' was announced maybe they had it hard-coded so that if your version number was greater than 10.15.X they would label it Mountain Catalina)

Avalon apparently is a place within Catalina, and was a rumored code name.

Will the Terminal still be accessible on ARM (silicon) Macs? I'm just curious because Apple has locked down a lot on these Macs (like booting non-macOS), but I don't know about the Terminal.

And it's not really surprising considering that Apple only supported Windows dual-booting + there's no available licensed version of ARM Windows unless you're an OEM.

Yea, they made it very clear in the interviews after that Bootcamp for Windows is a no go for the foreseeable on Apple Silicon.

Love the new SF Symbol for PC. 🤣

I’m considering installing the Developer Beta of Big Sur. For you brave souls who’ve installed it already: How’s the stability?

Apparently, you can watch 4K HDR or 4K content on Netflix using HEVC codec with Safari 14. Can anyone with UHD Netflix subscription test this on both 4K HDR and 4K content?

Last I heard due to the pandemic and people staying at home these services are only streaming in HD to save bandwidth. This policy might differ by region or they will dynamically adjust quality if bandwidth is available.

It goes without saying the coconutBattery developers made it up themselves as a placeholder text. ;-)

Yeah, you are right but I think they already started restoring normal (non-reduced) quality for some countries/regions. Moreover, my post was more about the possibility of playing such 4K HDR content rather than availability of such content. It's kinda a shame that any Mac that has Kaby Lake CPU and later can play 4K HDR on Windows but can only do the same on 2018+ Macs using macOS. Honestly, I would be totally happy with non-HDR 4K (not just higher resolution but also higher bitrate) support on my rMBP 2017 with macOS since it doesn't support HDR anyways.
