so following the guide, I tried issuing createmedia, I get the following error. did I miss a step not on the GitHub guide?

I think BS beta 5 was pulled. I don't see it in System Preferences.

Out of curiosity, would anyone around here perhaps know, where to find that bigsur icon? I can find loads using search for icns (system files included), but not the one from "About this Mac"

Hi @amaze1499

You can find ProductPageIcon.icns here:

Installer macOS Big Sur bêta.app⁩ ▸ ⁨Contents⁩ ▸ ⁨Resources⁩

And you can extract all picture with terminal command: iconutil --convert iconset (drag & drop ProductPageIcon.icns)

At same place you can find too: ProductPageIcon_512x512.tiff and ProductPageIcon_256x256.tiff

I think you should check subnet configuration and DNS manually

@jackluke
Thanks you I could install DP4 on all my machines. On my macbook 8.1 I replaced the WIFI/BT card with a working card of a macbook 9.1. WIFI is working but not Airdrop and Handoff so far. Your prelinked Kernel for Ivy Bridge got me full access to Airdrop and Handoff in the 9.1. Is there any prelinked Kernel for Sandy Bridge which gets the same result with the card I took into the MBp 8.1 or another method to get Airdrop working?

UPDATE #4 on my patcher:
-I started working on my app for the patcher. I decided to use AppleScript for the time being as it'll be quicker. Once the patcher is released I will make a SwiftUI app with Xcode.
-I messed a few things up :( but I fixed them :) !!!

-I am on pause right now because something bad happened to my phone: When I installed iOS 13.6.1, the install progress bar got stuck for like 3 hours, and then rebooted into iOS recovery. I know that I can use Finder to restore, but I don't want to use third-party apps as I don't want to pay. Unfortunately, my WiFi has been really sucky in the past two weeks because of a big storm that cut off a lot of signal, so whenever I try to restore, I get an error at some point that the connection was lost and such and such. My router's ethernet port is taken by a server that would be really difficult to disconnect without losing data. I know there are forums here on iOS but I want to mention it here, as I won't continue on my patcher until my phone is fixed. (I have a lot of really important files and app there that are fortunately backed up but will need to access soon...)

Install 802.11ac card in MacBook Air 11 2012

I had to buy another cable to extend its range, because it didn't reach the connector and I ended up breaking at the end.

My connection is 100mb.
First test at 2.4GHz
Second test at 5GHz

Replacing the Airport is no longer necessary to fix the patch, just install Big Sur and put the parameters in NVRAM.

Fine. I'm waiting for doing the same on my mid 2012 MBP. So if the patch of the system is no more necessary, you can have a sealed system. I would be interested to know if you can get the system updates in software update preferences.

Wifi, patched on a 2012 Mac Mini is buggy, I can't connect to several of my Wifi networks, it connects to 1, if I want to change it I will get an error that the Wifi network does not exist, WTF, it shows in the Wifi Menu Bar dropdown menu.

I have the same problem on an iMac late 2102, 13,1.
WiFi connects to the router at 2.4 GHz and delivers the speed promised by the ISP (more or less). At 5 GHz, the WiFI will not connect and bings the message "The network could not be found", as shown above. The network is, however, clearly visible in the dropdown.
Is this problem related to the network speed?
