I'm a rolling stone.
i fully agree with you i own the mid 2012 myself with An SSD and 8gb ram

I was really..REALLY surprised the 2012 MBP wasn't included in the supported Macs, it was sold until November 2016, that's not even 4 years ago.
I also have a 2012 Mac Mini, the internals are very similar to the 2012 MBP, that one was sold until 2014, I guess these were, in Apples eyes, just too old to include them in the supported Macs.

This is my configure on my Mid 2011 13 inch MacBook Air. This was the computer that was not supported for Catalina, So I'm hoping if some how later on once the official patcher comes I hope this computer is added, but I know right now its not supported for Big Sur

Reinstalled BigSur Beta 4 on Mac mini 2010 (Macmini4,1 Penryn) internal SSD. It boots in 1 minute from Apple loader, Wifi and Bluetooth sound out work, USB Webcam and microphone OK. Mouse speed is normal and it is quite usable also without graphic acceleration. Tuxera NTFS 2019 works. I'm writing this on Chrome on Big Sur beta 4.

SHORT INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS:

1. Download InstallAssistant.pkg b4 and run it
2. Open Install macOS BigSur beta (located in Applications)
3. Use @ASentientBot hax3 patcher
4. Start installation from Catalina
5. After Stage 2 installation (1 minute remaining) boot from macOS installer using @jackluke USBOpenCoreLoader4.
6. If during installation it reboots, simply continue always from macOS Installer using USBOpenCoreLoader4.
7. Complete the installation inserting Language Preferences and other data.
8. Reboot in Catalina (or better in another BigSur installation) and use @jackluke prelinkedkernel fix for Penryn and beta 3 patching Preboot. (It fixes wifi, and it boots from Apple loader without the need of USBOpenCoreLoader4)
9. Done! CPU starts overcharged at 100% but you can kill Spotlight and spindump processes with

sudo pkill -f "spindump" && pkill -f "Spotlight"

My CPU now is 3% IDLE ?

PS: @jackluke Beta 5 and 6 are absolutely unusables on Mac mini 2010 without Wifi and USB and very very slow. I have also tried to skip Stage3 installation booting directly from Big Sur Data, but the result is a neverending loading. I hope to get a new innovative fix.Note: Prelinkedkernel fix works only from another BigSur installation for me.

Upgrading any beta version will work to beta 6, as long as you follow the instructions.

Installing from scratch also works, having the bootable pendrive.

I only did a clean installation in beta 2 due to lack of knowledge, from beta 3 to beta 6, I only did an update, without formatting.

Hi, dosdude had released very nice installation patchers the last years. And it seems, that he has withdrawn from the community :( Many thanks to dosdude for the great software, you did develop the last years. Is anybody of you working at a patcher, which is quiet similar easy to use to that, which was developed from dosdude?

I run Big Sur public beta 6 on a Mac Mini 2018, there are still many mistakes in it. Do not expect, to run it better at an "unsopported machine".

Examples:

Adobe Reader does crash very often
Firefox does crash very often
smb://wsus (my file server with windows server 2019 and wsus upgrade machine for windows pcs) does not work
CCC Carbon Copy Cloner does only save the "Data" container, not the "system" container
Parallels 15 does not start, you have to upgrade to Parallels 16

So install it only at machines, that are "spare" machines.

Hi!

Which full version number is shown with this Public Beta 6 in the About This Mac window (the developer beta 6 give me 20A5346e) ?

beta 6 is db, not pb.
you are wrong, on my Mac Mini 2018, I got offered "public beta 6" and I did install it.

You are right, that it is the third published beta of Big Sure for consumers. But its name is "public beta 6", I think, they do not count the number of "published public betas", but name it with the name of the last published developer beta.
