I have Beta 6 running on an OWC Pcie SSD card, triple booting with Mojave and Catalina (both of those on an internal SSD) on a 2015 Mac Pro 5,2. When you say OC6 are you saying that your are trying to install using Open Core? I am using Micropatcher to do the install. i have three 2010/2012 Mac Pro 5,2 machines and have now been succcessful installing on all of them, one with a completely new install, one with an install over a previous version of Catalina and one with an install over a previous version of Big Sur Beta 5. At one point I thought that the PCIe card was gumming things up, but I have experimented enough to find that, in my case with the OWC card, it is not a problem.
how step by step for install bro?

Sorry for asking (since this was already covered in this thread, which is too long and I couldn't follow closely), but what is the current status of Big Sur on a Non-Retina Mid 2012 MacBook Pro (MBP9,2)?

Last time I checked, everything seemed to work except Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. Is there any fix for this issue yet?

MBP mid 2012 - no retina is my computer and everything works perfectly in BS b6 (wifi, Airdrop, sound ...) You have to follow the instructions on this page of @Barry K. Nathan using the 0.19 micropatcher.

I haven't needed anything else to get everything working.

Never really figured out how you get the InstallAssistant package without searching up and down this thread. Is there a more clever way?

Q: Where/how can I download macOS 11.0 Big Sur?
A:
For legal purposes, the only official way to obtain a copy of macOS Big Sur is to be a registered Apple Developer and pay a yearly $99 fee to become eligible for downloading beta software. According to Apple, a public beta which does not require a registered Developer account will be released at some point in July and will be free to sign up for. Please remember it is highly suggested that you do not install beta software on your main devices, overwriting any stable releases. Beta software can cause irreparable hardware damage or irrecoverable data loss and should be used at one's own risk.

This is the reason why you have trouble finding a download link...

Will Big Sur (micro patcher) work on a 2011 MacBook Pro w/ WiFI? And what wifi card is the best for the patcher? Should I use the micropatcher on GitHub? And any way to fix the issues w/ graphics, sleep, etc..

Thnx.
I have Big Sur beta 5 running on a late 2011 MBP with only a few glitches around the closing of the lid and sleep/wake: Micropatcher issue #32

I aslo had to disable the dedicated GPU: http://dosdude1.com/gpudisable/

Next search for installassistant.pkg
That's it

For this b7 release it's

*Edit: This might not be the right link for b7, it's the same as b6 which is weird, the catalog should be updated by now since it's already hours ago since the release.

Somebody, please, give a link to the installation package!

This is exactly the same link we got (and you posted) with the b6! Are you sure of this?

NO! it's Beta 6,
the Beta 7 link is not online yet!

Yes, I also saw this was the same link.

Not Online, the beta has been out for hours. /Confused
The download was/is extremely slow, at 2 MB/s while I am on a 1 Gb Fiber connection, I stopped it at 3 GB, might not be such a bad idea since it is/might be the wrong one.
I instantly saw that the size was exactly the same as last time, that in itself should ring a bell.

Note: for this macOS Big Sur Build, there will only be a software update available to take you from Beta 6 (20A5364e) to Beta 7 (20A5374g). If you are starting with a build earlier than Beta 6, or from macOS Catalina or an earlier version of macOS, you will need to install Beta 6 prior to updating to Beta 7. Translation = NO FULL INSTALLER FOR BETA 7!

Thanks for the report man, that's really good news! Looking forward to the GM release of Big Sur.

Makes sense that the link was not Updated.

It would be very unfortunate if such a thing happened, it only remains to wait for the final version that should be able to be downloaded from the App Stores
