That's the difference between a GUI and no GUI. You won't believe how important that is to most people. Sometimes Patched Sur is less reliable, but in the sense that some of the automated steps don't always work. (You can override the InstallAssistant.pkg download if you want, that's a big one that likes to fail).
@BenSova Thanks. I did it))) Thank you and everyone.

Hey Ben Sova. First of all, I would like to thank you for great work. I don't understand coding so automated steps of Patched Sur is great for newbies like me. I have been waiting v1.0 for clean install.

Doable using Starplayrx BM02n_legacywifi method (although I have upgraded BT4/wifiac, I could not get the BM02ac_wifi version to complete the download) on MacPro 3,1.
Quite acceptable speed too and wifi is working. No BT or other problems so far.
Thanks Todd.

Now when Apple sends a new update out, we aren't able to update through system update like supported Mac's?

Yes, welcome to the world of unsupported Macs...some guys are working on this topic but there are some really bad things that can happen using these OTA upgrades. So an upgrade now is normally creating a full installer again and install and patch ....

First post of this thread, 4th patcher option may be able to achieve this in future.

It seems that Apple has locked out Late 2013 machines from upgrading to Big Sur.. would the patchers help me get it installed on my Late 2013 rMBP, which is actually a supported machine?

I currently have the first beta of 11.1 installed on my rMBP but it refuses to upgrade any further, even with BigSurOTAfix.

Yes, but Apple did this to avoid more users experiencing bricked Macs - wo what is the purpose of going this way?

Some of those Macs got hard bricked, like in...no possibility to boot, IIRC it was due to Firmware.
So, you're lucky to have avoided the mess.

Right, I tried the OC Legacy Patcher option successfully on MBP5,2 up to the point of getting offered an OTA update (to 11.1 beta2). See post #7,350 .
Didn't try to install beta2 OTA but will be more courageous with the next beta. I installed beta2 via full installer app using jackluke's patcher option 3.

A warning as always, BS on machines without Metal compatible GPU is just an exercise. Installation is successful thanks to the providers of the various patchers mentioned on page 1. Running is very slow because there is no graphics acceleration.

I searched but i did not find some well-explained article about downgrading to Catalina, could y'all help me? I can't deal with Big Sur warming up my machine and making it turn off everyday.

MacBook Pro Retina 15" Early-2013.

There has never been a downgrade with Apple - welcome to the Maschine. You may use Internet recovery.

You can roll back your entire system via Time Machine, but you will lose any changes you made since upgrading. Thus you will need to backup any changes you made after you installed macOS Big Sur manually. You might either want to save them manually to any USB drive or selectively restore newer files from TimeMachine after restoring the older backup. You could do so one by one (though multiple at once from the same folder) or by restoring entire folders.

hello everyone; It will be off topic, but I have imac 2012 late, I want to reach this screen directly when I press the power button, without pressing the option button, is this possible?

Easily is not the well chosen word:).
It really is simple & quick. Create Refind USB takes 2 min max. Copy UUID folder from recovery takes 1 min (USB3 32/64Gb stick or even better micro SD card with USB3 converter). Create .plist file. 5 minutes tops!
Ready to boot your Mac to create APFS Container image (on same USB stick) to be able to restore it to any other Mac

Yes , yes. But just a click on CCC is 1 nano second without hassle, sorry but i do not want to re-invent the wheel each time i wanna do something. It's your choice, your way to go.
