Yes, it is booting from a Samsung 970 Evo NVMe connected to one of the cMP 3,1 PCIe x16 slots via a Highpoint 7101A-1 SSD card (not a cheap card at around $250)Can you confirm this is booting from a drive connected to a PCIe slot?

Not broken here on Samsung 970 Evo NVMe connected to cMP 3,1 PCIe x 16 slot using HighPoint 7101A SSD card and booting 11.3 RCSearch
Search back the last few pages: Booting NVME broke with 11.3 for unknown reasons. Go back to 11.2.3 or use another disk to install macOS Big Sur.
I tried, resetting PRAM SMC did not help anything, deleted the bluetooth plist file and so on, I tried all the options, the result is zero (((I wrote, as soon as I started the bootloader, the mouse stopped working, I used usb mouse, everything is fine in Sierra) ! Even in the boot menu, the mouse works! Downloaded this version "11.2.3 20D91 download here update 2.3" I did the installation through this "OpenCore Legacy Patcher" and what should have been done differently?Do an SMC reset and check if your BT card came back to live. This has IMHO nothing to do with Big Sur or OCLP - there are simply too many other users running your type hardware without any problems. Since you did not wrote which installation method you used I can only assume it was OCLP.
Would be nice if you could be more precise with your issue descriptions. No one owns a really working glass ball here. And with the glass balls there is no such thing a an SMC reset![]()

I use a Samsung 970 Pro on Highpoint 7101 My macPro 12 Cores 2010 using Opencore Martin Lo 068 but no luck with Big Sur 11.3 or 11.4 betaYes, it is booting from a Samsung 970 Evo NVMe connected to one of the cMP 3,1 PCIe x16 slots via a Highpoint 7101A-1 SSD card (not a cheap card at around $250)
I had bluetooth problems from time to time as well.
Unfortunately I don't know any instructions how to definitely make it work.
What might help (only if the bluetooth controller was actually recognized by the OS):
Furthermore I had to redo the pairing in each OS version after switching.
- always power off and manually power on the machine instead of a restart
- NOT use any bluetooth devices (keyboard or mouse) before booting into the OS, not in the Apple boot menu nor in any type of OpenCore
- SMC reset (refer to Apple's instructions for your specific machine model)
- PRAM reset three times in a row
Rebuild the OLCP EFI following the docs and make sure your iMac12,2 is recognized properly in the patcher app. If not set the machine by hand. Set NVIDIA metal patch manually, too.Reset does not work 10 times tried everything. I say the same as soon as I entered the installation immediately stopped working. in sierra and windows everything works fine! in the boot menu too !!
back to catalina ... (((((

even a calculator from the 90s is faster))) to observe such settings))) horror)))GREAT WORK! Installed Big Sur and High Sierra with OLCP 0.1.0 on iMac8,1. Big Sur painfully slow, High Sierra is amazing fast!View attachment 1762795
MacPro5,1 (Mid 2010)To help out, we're mainly asking for the following:
- Machine model (ie. iMac14,2)
- Patcher version (ie. 0.0.21)
- Any extra mods done to the machine (ie. Wifi or GPU upgrade)
Installed 11.4b1 over 11.3b8 on my MBP5,2 17", on an external (USB) SSD, using OCLP 0.1.0. Working well.I DON’T recommend to anyone install BigSur right now with a non metal GPU. It’s only to test the patches.
And DO NOT INSTALL THIS AS YOUR MAIN SYSTEM, it’s buggy, a lot of errors and more.
Only for testing and in another partition/external drive
Windows and OCLP on the same disk does not work. Remove the OC folder from the internal EFI partition (read the OLCP or OpenCore docs how to manage this and get used to it). You need to use an SD card or USB thumb drive to store the OC EFI.this is difficult for me! I broke everything, and again restored from time machines, everything works! later, when will there be time, I will try another version of the patch, if it's not difficult to help me choose a patch, which one is better for my configuration? I will be very grateful for the links) it's really very difficult for me! I have to translate the text to understand ...
and there is still a bootloader from the patch, and now there is no way to boot into Windows (((what I did, it worked fine)))))
Have you first run the dosdude1 rom upgrade for APFS and NVMe support? Then rebuild a new USB installer using OCLP 0.0.22 or later using the correct MP gestalt and parameter setiings. Install and if successful, finally copy correct EFI folder files from USB installer to NVMe SSD EFI folder on HP7101A for USB-free booting; Ausdauersportier described this last step in a previous post a few pages back. Here's what my system information firmware version looks like.I use a Samsung 970 Pro on Highpoint 7101 My macPro 12 Cores 2010 using Opencore Martin Lo 068 but no luck with Big Sur 11.3 or 11.4 beta
He is using cMP5,1 Dosdudes APFS ROM patch is for cMP3,1. dosdude does not provide NVMe patch. Can you please elaborate on your NVME patch?Have you first run the dosdude1 rom upgrade for APFS and NVMe support?
See D)He is using cMP5,1 Dosdudes APFS ROM patch is for cMP3,1. dosdude does not provide NVMe patch. Can you please elaborate on your NVME patch?
So according to this you actually used NVMe from cMP5.1 ROM, correct?See D)
But this is for cMP 3,1 not sure about cMP 5,1![]()

Hello everybody! I'm newly owner of MP 3,1 and I want to discuss upgrading of this nice but old machine with you. I suggest everyone to take part in creating this guide. Why do you need FPS? the screen is already shining well)))
what you mean by OCLP and Windows on the same Disk doesnt work? u mean the same partition or Physical Disk? am asking because i have OCLP in the EFI Partition and Mac and Windows on each seperate partition all on one SSDWindows and OCLP on the same disk does not work. Remove the OC folder from the internal EFI partition (read the OLCP or OpenCore docs how to manage this and get used to it). You need to use an SD card or USB thumb drive to store the OC EFI.
OCLP download links are on the first page of this thread.
See post 6 in this threadSo according to this you actually used NVMe from cMP5.1 ROM, correct?
I know all these threads and guides. I am asking you what you have used to patch the NVMe?See post 6 in this thread
The issue is not the software, it's the hardware. Specifically sourcing compatible hardware. Currently there are no socketed Broadcom cards with the BCM4425 used in the M1 series. For reference, we don't have the BCM4364 or BCM4355 used in the iMac Pro or the 2019 Mac Pro. Seeing as we've gone over 3+ years with the iMac Pro's release, and no sight of their cards on socketed cards, it's extremely unlikely we'll see any vendors such as Fenvi release products utilizing the BCM4425 chipset.Huh, I just realized the M1 iMac uses WiFi 6. Could that mean that we can soon upgrade to wifi 6 capable cards?
I know all these threads and guides. I am asking you what you have used to patch the NVMe?
this one uses: "In this step you are going to make a NEW EFI rom with DXEInject using the NVMe driver Apple provides for the MacPro 6,1."
The previous link was using NVMe.ffs from MP51.fd.
Which one did you use?
