After spending almost 8 hours with 3 attempts by erasing the entire disk then install the latest Monterey 12.1 beta2 with the latest OCLP 0.3.2n, it still shows 2 Messages app in Notification. The first 2 attempts were using Time Machines after the clean install and the last one did not. What I've noticed at the very last attempt is that there was only one green Messages app icon before the Post-Install Patch being applied. Then it comes the 2nd blue Messages app icon (seem from Catalina) after applying the Patch (iMac12,2 with K3100M graphics card).
Any one has any idea??? I am really confused because it's absolutely a clean install.
Upgrading atop a @dosdude1 Catalina install involves removing the dd1 patches and additions which is EASY. Using FindAnyFile (AppStore) or EasyFind, find all dosdude1 and dd1 files, remove. The two CPs can be removed with a right click, follow the prompt. Log out, restart.

I'd still recommend to upgrade, simply because it is already on Big Sur.

I have a 27" late-2012 iMac with 1TB HDD & 128GB SSD running FusionDrive Monterey 12.1, Everything works and snappy enough for my user-case.
For your iMac, I'd still recommend to upgrade simply because you already run Big Sur.
To go one-step further, you can add a NVMe SSD to your iMac: Google Search will do the trick?

Sounds like I will be ok to update. I want to get a few more years out of my iMac before upgrading. This NVMe SSD upgrade sounds interesting. I will have to look into it, although it does make me a little nervous to remove the display.

I still don't understand. There's a list of "Glitches" dated from March, eight months ago. Have some/any/all of those been resolved? If so, where is this info?
The menu bar ghosting has been fixed in the OCLP_032 TUI, the fix just has to be enabled - defaults write -g ASB_BlurBeta -bool true

Looks beautiful, now.;) Or wait for the 0CLP_032 formal release when the docs are updated.

Works with HD 3000 graphics? Would you be so kind to tell me where I can find OCLP 0.3.2 Niightly?

Thank you so much.

It's on Discord and they move it around. Try $link in the Paradise. Good luck.
I have this, but don´t know if there is a newest version. Thanks.

Just checked on my iMac13,2 running Monterey 12.1 beta 1. It also has this double Messages app in Notification, meaning an Apple bug?
Add: Upgraded to beta 3 and still see double???

if you use an after market internal SSD to install the OS it will not work with Monterey because apple have a new firmware update and to upgrade to Monterey you need an apple original SSD so you can update the firmware on the chip and then Monterey will install no problem and when get that done you can put your after market SSD and install Monterey with no problem. i had to do that on my MBP mid 2015
I'm on a Mac Pro 5,1, not a MacBook Pro, and Apple never sold this machine with SSDs.

Alright so Long story short, I'm dual-booting two Unsupported OS's on my Mid 2012 A1278 Macbook Pro: Big Sur and Monterey on two separate partitions. However, I keep getting an error message about some "Pipe being broken" when I try to run VMware Fusion Pro 12 to **** around with Kali Linux. I've tried all the suggested fixes, and it seems others have had this same issue and I was wondering if there has been a permanent fix or workaround figured out and established; or is it something I'll just have to wait for them to fix when the next VMware Fusion update is released?

Please check the GitHub issue #108 - it is still valid - or read the OCLP online docs about legacy video patches and it's problems. I do not expect to see miracle there. More and more apps uses the metal frameworks and the patches only bring back OpenGL acceleration, no metal capability.

BTW: I was not even writing about legacy video patches!

Thanks, K two. Which app you used to remove the extra Messages icon in CP's Notification? I tried the EasyFind, which is free, and not sure where to look for this extra icon?

VMWare long ago made clear that this won't be fixed, since the new engine for Fusion 12 is based on Apple Hypervisor and Apple minimum requirement for it is late-2013 Mac Pro, with older Macs not having the necessary CPU requirements.

#108 will have to be updated for OCLP_032 under Cosmetics, Menu Bar Blur and Selections which has been fixed by ASentientBot. But you knew that?;)

Ok, thank you for this answer. I guess my m2022MBA is just going to stay stuck on whatever the last official update was. I dont use it for anything except music stuff anyway, so security be damned. Makes me hate Apple even more though, which I didn't think was possible.

That issue not part of dosdude1 components, you may need an XCode tool? ? And no multiples here on any of our Macs. Sooo
